    Not sure who would take an adjustable rate loan to save 1% when that will get washed away in the next couple months with the rate hikes.

      A 7/1 ARM gets you a rate lock for longer than the average homeowner has a 30-year fixed mortgage. I'm surprised they didn't elaborate on the ARM terms.

      Good question, Bobby! As Karl has eluded to here in the comments, ARMs often have a fixed-rate period at the beginning.
      For example, a 5-year ARM means that your rate is fixed for the first five years.
