Either way the fact that the line between the truth and lies is so opaque nowadays due to technology and the quick spread of misinformation is beyond disheartening. Its hard not to question everything we see, especially when all "reality" tv is scripted to a point. Unfortunately I'm sure what we see in his show is a reality, if not here than definitely somewhere else in the world.

Fake as it seems, I find it hard to believe that anyone would do this as an acting gig, particularly one where you couldn’t admit it was fake. I’d find it sus if his face were blurred, but he’s identifiable. Moreover, having crossed paths with a lot of guys like this in my childhood, this kind of guy is more common than we want to believe. When I was ten, my 65 year old great uncle propositioned me in front of a Circle K and it wasn’t even all that surprising. I just nodded along, finished my ice cream, and then locked my bedroom door that night. Sounds terrible, but I’d imagine a quarter of the people watching this video have similar stories from their childhoods. It’s really unfortunate.

That's so vile, I'm glad that nothing happened to you like that... But you're right, predators are wayyy more common than most people think! Growing up, there were a few registered offenders in my neighborhood, and strangely, the worst was an older lady who lived down the street who repeatedly violated young boys after luring them to her apartment... She was convicted several times but for some reason her sentences were super light. She actually assaulted a friend of mine who lived across the road and it messed him up, he died from an OD a few years back. I hope she rots in hell.

Sadly I will say that since I grew up helping out my auntie who would take in kids that CPS had removed from their homes, this is a thing. Some monsters (I refuse to refer to them as parents) will sell their kids for drugs, some because they are inappropriate with the kids already and they want to get money out of others who are like them. Its really fucked up to meet little kids who's monsters have been selling them for yrs. Most of them have night terrors and a hard time trusting but thats just the tip of the iceberg. I also know a woman who's father sold her into sex slavery, now she is a huge advocate for stopping sex trafficking and the like and honestly she is someone is aspire to be like every day because she is a wonderful ray of light.

75 is the highway he used. He was saying 75 was bad. Unfortunately because of the 70 and 75 interchange here in Ohio the area is often used for human trafficking. 75 in north/south and 70 is east/west. They cross in the Dayton area. It makes it easy for criminals of all kinds to use the area. It’s also know for drug trafficking too.

As a survivor of CS trafficking, who now does a lot of advocacy work, sharing my story, educating communities, etc... this is actually the most common form of CS trafficking. I was trafficked by my own mother and most are by their parents/family member/trusted adult. There's a lot of misinformation in this video.
This just goes to emphasize how little work Chris Hansen has actually done within this field and how ignorant he is on the topic. No one that has ever done any amount of work against human trafficking... could claim they've never seen/heard of this happening in 20 years. There's a reason why most people and organizations disavow him and his so-called "work in the field."

They did an episode on child predators on That Tahj Mowry show, The Smart Guy. We all know he is an actor so we wouldn't shun him in real life knowing it's a TV show where everything is acted out for our entertainment. There are strict rules on who can lure people into trying to do illegal things and how they do it. Unless you are a licensed law enforcement agent or working under the direction of them, you can't legal set up stings. I saw this a while back. It does seem exaggerated, but from what I've heard this scenario is very common. One catch by a group of Colorodans found them interrogating a woman who was luring kids to then pimp out to *other* creeps. This shit really does go down like this sometimes, as abhorrent a thought that is.
EDIT: You'd be surprised at how many creep catcher decoys are approached on normal dating (or "dating") sites like Tinder, Hinge, Grindr, etc. Whisper is a fucking disgusting app btw, please don't let your children use it. Parents who traffick their own children is a real thing. You keep saying variations of "He's trying to bang a child." No. He's trying to r*pe them. I understand using different terminology to avoid YT's algorithm, but please use a code word or bleep it. These types of atrocities should not be referred to as anything else (and Chris Hansen is also guilty). The perpatrator is telling his life story because he's clearly gotten away with it before and has the ego to think he can continue getting away with it (considering the US justice system, he's probably right.) while I do think Chris Hanson is not a great person because of things he's done, he has done a lot of good too by exposing these people and bringing awareness to these issues. most of the people from TCAP didn't get long enough sentences (imo) because they didn't "technically" do the crime but the majority did at least get punished in some way even if it was only exposing them on NBC. the families and people around the predators now know to keep their kids away from the predators which is also a good thing too.

But unfortunately, they do and sex trafficking is most commonly done by a supposed trusted guardian or relative, family friend whoever. In situations involving money or drugs the parent or “trusted” adult will often use the child as a bargaining chip to achieve drugs or money, especially in poverty. People are sick, but the sooner we wake up to the reality the safer we'll be. Parents need to be aware of the statistical facts and dangers that are closer to harming their child within their own family and social circle rather than an actual stranger.

Sorry Leo. I know you're a positive guy and want the best for people in this world... but as an American... this stuff is 100% real. I am a true crime junkie and these kinds of stories are ALL TOO COMMON. It seems to be more "stepdads" in situations like these. But I've also listened to stories of BOTH parents taking part in this like this with their teen children. It's a sad sad world out there

I have seen this before. I don’t remember exactly what happen but the mom gave her 5 yr old to a boyfriend and he ended up killing that poor baby. Also on dr Phil this young woman’s parents actually made sex tapes with her in her early or mid teens and went to jail. I hate it but us normal people can not fathom the kind of things derange people do. It sounds so fake until you hear news stories

My poor, sweet, angel, baby Leo.... 15% of police encounters end in violence (reported, we don't know how often cops just beat someone up for fun and run off). But, yes, it does look like some red saturation was added to increase the effect of looking beat up.
As for the actual situation... yeah. Trafficking happens by people you know, this includes parents.
Yes. The US really is this messed up.
