His appearance reminds me how I have aged myself since I first saw and had the pleasure of meeting him in person with his band in Germany in the mid-eighties. He was so generous to give me a back-stage pass for two concerts in Frankfurt and Würzburg. Maze and Franky will always remain in my heart just like Maurice and Earth, Wind & Fire. Good spirited music with a message and a unique groove.
The mere fact is as long as we keep on living, and the older we get our bodies will change, inside and outside. Just like the elderly people would say, “keep on living and you’ll find out for yourself.” I’m 75 years old and I now know it myself!! No one is going to stay young. As we each get older.our body changes.our voices change and maybe our personality. The older entertainers have given us decades of great songs and performances. Instrumentals. Movies. Theater etc. Even athletes lose their looks. Be grateful and proud that they can be given the opportunity to perform once or twice again. Get their albums and cd. Play lists while you can. When you listen or watch their videos remember them as they were. If you see them in live concert respect them.their band and back up singers etc. One day ever one will change. So many don't make it to their senior years and can still perform. Give them their applause while they can still appreciate them. Younger generation are producing music that can never surpass the greats; howwever, there are many talented young artists. Actors. Musicians. etc. They will never be the exact replica of the originals but with proper training and respect they can become as great . maybe some greater. But never the original. I Love Frankie and I am eternally Sad that I was not at his Farewell Concert in Mobile, Alabama, my hometown! it was the first time for me because I never missed it, but since He and I are the same age, I do not like outside concerts anymore and this year in April, it was outside. I wanted to go to New Orleans which is only about 3 hrs. from Mobile, but tickets were sold out. Even though it was to be his last one, I had hopes that he would come back next year for the Essence Festival. I never thought this would be his last performance, so it goes to show us that "time is filled with swift transitions" and tomorrow is not promised to any of us as it is written! Even with a decline in his voice, I still would have Loved being there! When his voice was perfect, the audience would take over and sing all the songs anyway, word for word, including ME!

I Love Frankie and I am eternally Sad that I was not at his Farewell Concert in Mobile, Alabama, my hometown! it was the first time for me because I never missed it, but since He and I are the same age, I do not like outside concerts anymore and this year in April, it was outside. I wanted to go to New Orleans which is only about 3 hrs. from Mobile, but tickets were sold out. Even though it was to be his last one, I had hopes that he would come back next year for the Essence Festival. I never thought this would be his last performance, so it goes to show us that "time is filled with swift transitions" and tomorrow is not promised to any of us as it is written! Even with a decline in his voice, I still would have Loved being there! When his voice was perfect, the audience would take over and sing all the songs anyway, word for word, including ME!
