That would be fantastic, but I don’t see it happening with the amount of pruning and chopping this tree needs to keep it small. Thanks for the comments, always.
Here in the south of England my jacaranda (not a bonsai and overwintered in an unheated green house) flowered this summer. There was pollination by bumble bees and now I have 2 seed pods. I don't know if the remaining autumn is going to be warm enough to make any seeds viable but it would be nice to have my own seedlings next summer. I have had some success with cuttings but not as many as you had.
I hope I will one day get flowers, but with the amount of pruning I have to do each year to keep it small, I doubt it will ever bloom. Still, I love the tree. The seed pods are unique.
Lovely group and each tree is just bursting with health. If you can put up with some unsolicited advise, the grouping looks too uniform with almost equal distance between trees. Would it not be more interesting to vary the distance? Perhaps some trees closer and some with some negative space? Perhaps during your next refinement in Spring?
I had to repot this planting after Luca disturbed it. I never was quite happy with the original tree placement, but I do quite like it now. I had a theater set in mind with this placement of trees. Yes it looks a bit regular, but it channels a center stage effect that I like.
Too bad you could not get an incense log cabin that they sell during the Christmas season. I see it in this forest with the smoke coming out of the chimney. Forest has my mind thinking 🤔.
After reading that this organic fertilizer would not harm pets, and after observing Luca showing no ill effects, I did not take him to the vet. A vet in my Bonsai club said his urine might smell bad, but he would pass the nitrogen.
Great success with those cuttings! I need to track down some seeds for this species. Where did you happen to get your seeds from? Any online recommendations before I look around?
@@Steves_Backyard_Bonsai oh gotcha! When I was in LA a few months ago I saw a bunch and they were BEAUTIFUL. I kept looking on the ground for seeds but never came across any. I’ll have to look around online and get some seeds.
Love the new additions.
Can’t wait to see this forest in full flower someday. Thanks, keep growing

The treeagmi pot is a nice little forest. I see deer walking through it.
I only want them to develop. Later on I’ll see what they want to be. Little deer would look very cute in it now.
Jacaranda root well from cuttings. They also bud back well from trunk chops.
That has been my experience as well Myron. Thanks for commenting.

Useful video, Steve. Thanks. How do you tell which is a leaf and which a branch?
A branch will sprout multiple leaves. A leaf is just a single compound structure off of a single leaf stem. Thanks!
I dropped a show at the same time you did, but mine was short, so I told my live chat viewers to raid your channel. 😂
Thank you Patricia. That was very nice of you. ❤️

Forests are so fascinating. I can rely on this one to always respond well to pruning. Hard to develop branching though.
How was your puppy dog after eating the fertilizer??? Did you take him to the vet???

Thanks Dave. My friend lives in Hollywood CA and Jacarandas line her street. She sent me the seeds that are now the trees in this video.
