I was nineteen when I heard SAGA. I really love the special sound of the guitars. Now I am living on the Canary Islands and listen to this song on the beach.............. Time change.
One of my favorite Bands of all-time and they're super nice (i loved picking Steve's brain on who was his favorite drummers were growing up, then we just talked about life
I'll never forget where I was when this song came on Q107 in Toronto and I heard it for the first time about 15 years ago. It was so captivating that I think I pulled off the road to listen to the whole track undisturbed. Saga had never really been on my radar as The Flyer/On the Loose were the only songs that got much airplay here and neither caught my attention. It was only after hearing Wind Him Up did I really take the deep dive and truly begin to appreciate their entire discography.
Saw em yesterday at Dexheim / Germany the second time live and they´re still awesome 🙂I´m 57 years old and I can number only a few bands having that place in my heart
....this may be his last day. Fkin mint work Buddy. Im 54 and I bet i haven't heard this since the tape come out. Thanks for the effort, put a smile on my face.
One of a handful of non-metal, non-hardrock bands I liked a lot back then. Can't say I've heard them mentioned much from about the late '80s to now. For some reason I was thinking about them the last couple days and YT didn't disappoint.

Addicted gambler here. And the narrative makes me feel... nothing. I like the music though. And how all the people are still there looking unscathed, sober and just fine after he arrives back in a taxi.
3:00 a broken clock is right twice a day goddamn🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 (Btw he's still down a z28 and there is only one woman that's good for him.can you guess with one??)
Loved them when I was 15...still love them at 58.
I'm the same age. Still like them too. You never know what you had until it's gone forever.

Another great song by one of Canada's best 80s rock greats, Saga!
Yes indeed!!! Just remember, "You never know what you had until it's gone forever."
Loverboy wasn't that bad, either. ;-)
This music never gets old!
Crank it up loud!
Crank it up and rip off the knob!
This song, and "On The Loose" were all over the radio in late 1982 and into early 1983, but I haven't heard them in decades now.
Good as today as it was back then.
Seriously underrated 80s band Saga. Great stuff.
Wore this cassette out driving around Vermont for work in '82. Good times, great band.
Mass. here near NY border. (71yrs.) good energy

My husband, a huge Dream Theater fan, says this is like saying before Britney Spears, there was…..Mozart! 😂
@@deniellejohnson9089your husband is clearly lost

Great tune. Nailed it. This is gambling addiction, and the craziness it is.
Wow!!! Finally saga found! After 40 years! Still love it, thank you for posting this masterpiece!
Was ein Song.daß ist noch Musik
I play cover in 80´s with these goods in Finland. What a live was it :)

I might too!
Grow up with SAGA great song 🎵
マイケル・サドラーさんのヴォーカルは本当に大好きでした😂😂
この曲が収録されているアルバムも最高で、今でも良く聞かせて頂いていますm(_ _)m
Great song and video. They even got Tuddy from Goodfellas to run the joint.
I heard this song a lot but never saw the video but now I understand the song's lyrics. It's about a compulsive gambler.

Saga's best song.

Aldo's standing at his table
And he's wondering if he's able
To pick the number right this time
He watches as the wheel stops spinning
Sees the number that is winning
As he reaches for his glass of wine
Once he starts it's hard to stop
He's keeping up a pace like a tight wound clock
Be sure you don't step in his way
He'll keep those numbers rolling
This may be his last day
As all the bets are taken
Aldo lights a smoke, he's shaking
From carnation right to the ground
He knows tonight holds one last chance
And give the wheel a final glance
Slippery fingers drop the money down
Once he starts it's hard to stop
He's keeping up a pace like a tight wound clock
And as he leaves the table, "No luck today"
You can rest assured
He's coming back to try again
Wind him up, he can't stop
He's wound up tight just like the clock
That's winding its second hand down
Wind him up, he can't stop
He keeps on going 'round the clock
He's winding his second hand down
Wind him up, he can't stop
He's wound up tight just like the clock
That's winding its second hand down
Wind him up, he can't stop
He keeps on going 'round the clock
He's winding his second hand down
Wind him up, he can't stop
He's wound up tight just like the clock
That's winding its second hand down
Wind him up, he can't stop
He keeps on going 'round the clock
He's winding his second hand down
I never knew there was a video to this song.
Oh that Ian Crichton guitar 🎸 So good.

Such one emblematic vídeo from saga, s greats hits
geile Rille und ne mega geile Zeit 😊
Classic.
Wow ! Never knew there was an official video for this song. Never saw it on Much Music back in the day....better late than never.
It was all over MTV when it came out. It probably wasn't on Much Music that often because Much didn't come out until '84 or so and the video was already a few years old by then.
Those of us who know know the drums on record are Simmons electronic... they have the drummer in the video with an acoustic set somehow...
They used a trigger system on live performances
@@richardbloxom3020 That explains it. I recently noticed the drummer for A Flock of Seagulls had triggers too.
@@richardbloxom3020 no, they had extra el.drums kit (Simmons) on the podium in 80-82 in front of Steve´s big acoustic kit...
And no rock show in UK have ever played them apart from good old Tommy Vance from the Friday rock show years ago !
One of the best songs of the era!
Great band

Thanks. Now i know what this song is about
Good job. Could you the same for a video from another Canadian band?. Where's Bula from Eight seconds
I will see Them tomorow in Kusel😊
Wow, excellent job on this! The sound on the original was a mess!
I managed to source a good, clean copy of the single edit (which the video was made for) - thanks for watching!!
❤❤❤❤
Saga Is one of the best groups of the world
I regret that they have broken up.
Should note that this is the video version of the song which is shorter than the original and missing a few parts. It's still a great tune though.
I did mention in the description that the video was produced for the 3:38 single version rather than the album's 5:47 length. Very cool song
We occasionally lust after the high flyers, but it's not always a happy life.
Always have this memory: When I was a kid, these guys would come over to visit my cousin and their cigarette smoking really bugged me.
My cousin's, mom's aunt, had neighbor who knew somebody, that did the same thing.

I had a dream of seeing them in 81 last night then I woke up to a world of current crappy music.
