I've never seen zoodles in a can before. That's nice. Great for people who are vegan/ vegetarian/gluten free, etc. Or for people who just don't like ordinary pasta.
Very nice variety of items from the food bank. What a blessing! It’s interesting that dog food is considered and included. I truly enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing.

Peas and carrots are great to add to Ramen soup for extra veggies or I also like to make a shepherd's pie type of stew. Just ground beef or veggie meat crumbles, then a brown gravy packet and peas and carrots! It great with just a piece of bread or two!
Some great things today from the food bank. I’m sure that you already know this, but you can dice onions and peppers and freeze them. Have a blessed day
Make red beans and rice with smoked sausage. Look up Louisiana recipes, this is one of our favorite meals. Though to feed a family you may want to use dried beans, instead of canned. If you don't mix the whole pot with rice, the beans and sausage combo can be frozen for another time. The longer it sits, the more the seasonings marinate in, goodness.
Oh wow thanks for the suggestion i will have to try this for sure 🥰 sorry i am so late getting back to your comment its been crazy busy here! Hope you have an amazing day 🥰
Hi Tiffany! Nice haul. I got my monthly allotment from the food bank today aswell for our family of 5, soon to be 6. Currently 29 weeks pregnant with baby #4, I’m getting tired 😆😆 Speaking of Kraft dinner, usually we get some but none this month. We actually had KD & fried Bologna for lunch today! 😅 quick and filling lunch for those days when you need it. Something that I have gotten a couple times now is pork shanks, and I am honestly not sure how to cook them. If anyone has any ideas or recipes they would be welcomed!! Today I got 8 litres of milk, 3 dozen eggs, a few different loaves of bread, zucchini, a cucumber, potatoes, onions, a whole chicken, 2 packs of spaghetti noodles, 2 packs macaroni, pasta sauce, 4 boxes of cereal, a few different meats for the freezer, various canned soups, 2 boxes of facial tissue, 2 bars of soap, and lots of other great stuff!! I am so grateful for all the help because honestly in these times it’s absolutely needed. Take care ❤
Gosh, I wish you lived close to me. I have so very much excess food in my house these days. Unfortunatly, it all basic ingredients rather than prepared meals and snacks. I can't seem to find enough people who actually have the time, resourses and energy to make use of it. I had no idea how extremely challenging it can be for many people in our country who are struggling to even cook food.
I love to cook and bake and even preserve, though you are right all 3 seem to be lost skills these days... Its why we teach our kids to do all 3... Have a great weekend! 💚💚
@@CanadianFamilyLife Here, it seems that people either work every waking moment and eat ready meals or takeout before rushing to bed for their nightly 5 hour sleep. Or they have kids in so many activities that they have no time to cook either. Then there are those working minimum wage jobs who can't afford a home with anything resembling a decent kitchen. I've recently taken to asking everyone I met if they could use some eggs, because we can't come close to keeping up with our chickens, and I've found two so far.
