I'm glad Larry has added to his trilogy of Job Action trailers I routinely revisit so I can watch his reaction to the Summoner changes and live vicariously through his happiness.
Yeah this is a whole mood and another, I will always remember his Bahamut reactions.
White mage now has a more flowery and watery aesthetic, very fitting with the class' nature-y roots in conjurer. Very nice
and a redemption for the fact that prior to this, Water magic's only representation was in a bind skill no one uses

To be fair we just went an entire expansion without even really acknowledging Titan so it's not really a surprise.
As someone who recently started playing FF14 with Summoner, seeing the Endwalker Summoner has me filled with so much hype.

I've always wanted to like Summoner but felt it was too hectic and busy, too much boring stuff between the actual summoning. If this iteration plays as well as it looks, I'm probably going to have a new main class.
I'm still reeling from Red Mage's melee combos getting cheaper to use (it now costs 50/50 instead of 80/80 for single target), plus Manafication gives guaranteed 50/50. RDM can instantly go into melee combo on the first GCD with this, but the real winner is having a larger overflow pool to not get trapped wanting to melee at a bad time.

The SMN showcase reaction from our resident Larryzaur was everything I expected and more. lol As for me, I was furiously nutting at the end as PLD got not one, not two but THREE new sword spells. Staying fundamentally the same but getting more shiny attacks involving holy blades smiting enemies is honestly all I can ask for as a longtime PLD main.

Watching the actual Live Letter, their exact words are ‘consider SMN to be an all new Job’. They are reworking it’s mechanics and removing DoTs and completely changing it to be a more pure summoner. I am so hyped!

It’s going to be funny seeing other summoner-esqe NPCs with Egis while we summon Garuda, Ifrit and Titan to our sides.
Speaking of, I wonder what’s going to happen with the SMN Job Quests for ARR since this is a huge change there.
from what ive gleamed from some of the ability translations, I imagine that Egis will remain in some form; as we'll be getting the new "Gem Brilliance" abilities that trigger the primal attacks quite early on, L26 in the current format. So if i had to guess, I assume Egis will be a weaker version of the primal summons theyve shown here.
Apparently you keep the egis until high level, so will be interesting to see if there’s a story change.
No it remain the same, those summons are level 90 skill
@@john_7000 Looking at the Media Tour info; it seems you'll be getting "Elemental" Carbuncles for your low level Arcanist-era stuff; which then upgrade to the Egis around the same time as they do now (the 30-50 Era) and then the big boy primals at 90; all working with the Gem Shine doohickery stuff. Nice buff to low level!

New monk looks great though, I'm so glad they completely revamped the entire chakra system so you don't spend time charging it and not hitting things. I spotted rising phoenix and phantom rush from ff6!
To be fair, with what we saw and heard this is a rework from the ground up. No DoTs, Carbuncle is clearly not attacking? Something for the low levels has definitely changed, and I am curious as to how.
@@EverfreeFire They might have just disabled carbuncle attacks to lower visual noise so that the actual new stuff they're showing off is more easily noticeable.
I would assume that the ifrit/garuda/titan thing will be part of the low level kit unless they give you a fat nothing for like 60 levels until you get DWT.
@@thomaswood8405 It didn't attack when they were showing it when discussing the Summoner changes further into the live letter. That would be an odd time to have it off.
@@EverfreeFire Ideally, I hope they made carbuncles completely passive and rolled their damage into SMN spells instead. It would make both balancing SMN easier on the devs and make the class feel better to play imo because the sometimes wonky nature of the AI can make damage inconsistent.
This combined with what we've seen of the rework is basically my dream rework for the class. And for those who like the carbuncles or question what even the point of them would be, I think they should change the animations of some of SMN's basic spells to use the carbuncle in the attack (maybe replace Ruin 2 with an animation where you point at your target and the carbuncle teleports to them and attacks them?), as this would further benefit the identity of the class as one that uses summons for their attacks - even at the most basic level.

I love seeing players fondly remember Naruto Part I when seeing that NIN has a lightning melee attack along with a proper Cloning jutsu that unleashes a wind-based attack, and MNKs finally taking their training weights off to move at super sonic speed
It took us two expansions, but he have access to our seven chakras now.
This expansion you get chidori, next one is mostly rasengan. So mudra waving for huton disappeared and was replaced with 1skill huton (1st move they shown), I guess no new mudra skills....they focused on skills/abilities, shadowfang is gone, assasinate is gone, DwD I think is gone.

@@heartfullbutterfly314 I am hyped. Heard DoTs removed and thought, "thats basically most of the kit...... with egi too, thats like 95% smn changed. what is smn going to look like??" I will miss Ifrit-egi's back-hand slap attack animation and I reaaaaaallly hope they made Titan-egi's stoneskin it's own button cause I love that self shield in crises but im not holding out for that one.

its crazy it looks like the Monk got Tifa's star shower attack from FF7 Remake
and that gap closer looking like Flash Step from Bleach.
Honestly, I think it played fine in Shadowbringers (might be in the minority though xD), but then they got rid of the GL gauge (I do kinda miss it, keeping it up was tough sometimes but it was the job's identity) and didn't rework some things tied to it in a way worth keeping them. I just hope Six Sided Star is actually worth a damn, cause even before Form Shift refreshed GL, I don't think anyone even used it cause of how long it delayed your next attack-
The dash change is dope now too, you can dash to teammates now not just enemies. So you can dash in and out.
The DPS uptime is going to be insanely fun

I've unlocked summoner yesterday and didn't really had the energy to lvl up to lvl 80 but seeing the changes and how Larry give me more determination to become a full time summoner who can yield the power of the primals

How to know when your oven is preheated to 350°? Just play the summoner rotation!
So excited fey blessing doesn’t use fairy gauge anymore because who knows what would’ve happened if I didn’t have that ONE extra tick of regen in the event that I needed to use fey union even though fey blessing is on a one minute cooldown.
Faerie Gauge has even less reason to exist now. At this point just get rid of it and make Aetherpact a cooldown.

As awesome as SMN is, can someone please mention how awesome the enemy the PLD is fighting?
It's one of the Empty from the Promyvion of the Chains of Promathia expansion from FFXI, which may or may not have some major implications, as Promathia is basically FFXI's version of Zodiark and the Emptiness is the Will of Promathia.
I was surprised to see the empty as well. It would be cool if more things from CoP popped up in endwalker.

Watching MNK just break out Tifa's Starshower attack at the end was so amazing!
It probably is Phantom Rush, from FF VI, but the animations are definitely from Tifa. Perfect Balance (I think) also mimics one of her stances.

I don't think anyone is happy with SCH, good thing is a limited job like BLU so that it's awfulness doesn't impact other players. I say this as a SCH main.
At least the developers are honest and open about how they don't give a shit about the job anymore.

No flashy moves sure, but being the only healer directed to boost movements speed just made them much more lovable compare to other healers for statics.

@@mizuhashiriku5219 Movement speed isn't really gonna make a big impact. Sprint is up every time you could possibly want to be faster. The main change that really helped SCH is the cast time being shorter. Now they will always have an oGCD window for pet and aether actions which is huge.
Even Alphinaud who has been sch since the beginning switched to sage
My first thought was, “Oh I need to hear Larry react to Summoner.” That made my day.
I’m a new player. Only around level 21 in Gladiator as of the posting of this comment. FF14 is the first MMO I’ve put a decent amount of time into. I absolutely fell in love with tanking. But looking at Paladin, I thought “Eh. Seems a little underwhelming. I’ll probably just switch to Dark Knight or Gunbreaker when I get them.”
Then I saw the giant swords and I’m not so sure anymore.

DRK is still my favorite tank, but was kind of disappointed in how it didn't seem to have much changed. Hopefully that'll change in the future.
One new MP spell, one spell who you can only cast on salted earth, one new shield, changes to salted earth, less CD for delirium, and living shadow can cast the new MP spells, it's kinda fine tho

@@elusixXrelixremember SCH cast times got the AST treatment as well, so using pet action will be easier now. They actually have an oGCD window every cast.
I think if they just buff SCH's healing it would be alright. It already feels nice to play, it's just the healing numbers are too low.
@@pleaserespond3984 I think SCH has a problem that literally every spell causes sliding animations, therefore it feels very sluggish. They should have made it that the sprint buff will be cast by the other fairy the SCH hadn't summoned yet. (e.g. Selene would be summoned for a short time, and the SCH would have 2 fairies for a short time)
I come back to this video when i feel down and Larry reaction to summoner makes me smile again for a while.

That absolutely joyous meltdown over SMN was a thing of beauty. Weirdly upset they're taking away my DoTs but hyped to be a SMN main.
RDM finally gets to feel like it has a full aoe rotation as well, which is fantastic, the 'gap close, hit, jump back, start casting again' always felt like it was missing something and that something was *scorch*
I had a feeling when I saw Summoner that Larry was gonna have huge grin over this new change.

As a DRK main I'm ultra jelly of all the flashy things SMN got maybe someday we'll get our turn.
I was seriously hoping that since we got a Fray summon, we might get a Myst summon we can swap between. Thinking Fray might be for damage while Myst would offer more support and buffs for DRK and party. Seems like all we got is an extra move that links with salted earth and another Blackest night shield though. That's ok I guess.
@@AnnoyingSquib Having Fray just hang out and be a glorified dot is already kind of a disappointment. The last thing I would want is for Dark Knight to become some weird pet class with different “summons”.
I'm dissapointed that black mage has only ONE new body animation out of all the new skills. At least give new/unique animations on wavering the staff for the new skills like White Mage...
And I still hate the body animation for Scholar's aoe damage skill.
Though, I'm impressed of everything else.

As a SCH main, i am so hacking tired of Scholar getting shafted. Apparently, it has a move where it increases its movement speed. Perhaps it will now be the most maneuverable healer than the rest? maybe that's its big bonus.
@@boastaboutgames2747 I kind of feel your pain as I love healing and those are always the first jobs I level up. SCH is like the step child. Movement speed is nice if they actually develop content that would either require it, or make it easier to clear if you can move faster. I suppose we shall see.
@@mheilig one of the most consistent things I see in content is people not moving out of AoEs fast enough or not reacting in time. This speed buff applied to the party could be a real game-changer and save a lot of lives. That is the best thing I can take away from Endwalker SCH.
@@boastaboutgames2747 SCH has an oGCD window after every cast now. That is huge, you no longer need to swiftcast Broil to get oGCD windows for pet and aetherflow actions. Sch is a lot more free to do actions now.
