Oh Bless Your Heart, Thanks 🙏 so much for that. Yes I actually do . I’m thinking about getting pneumonia shot, but not sure if it’s good or not . I really appreciate that tip. I used to get colds ,but now it’s straight pneumonia. Your an Angel,I really want to paint this . Thanks for the tip ,your an amazing teacher and person.
Thank you vey much Free Spirit. I got a pneumonia shot last year, and the doctor said it lasts for 10 years. Yay! I love that. I really hate shots. Thank you for the compliment!
Yoveytte, I Watch your video yesterday on brush cleaning with oven cleaner. I am very very hard on brushes, I've had brushes that were extremely hard, that I was about to throw them away. I got a big freezer bag last night, Put all my old brushes in the bag. With a few sprays of oven cleaner, this morning I put on my rubber gloves, Washed and rinsed them out thoroughly, my goodness, they are like new.
That is wonderful Joseph, I use this all the time. Brushes are expensive, and this helps to save them. Just be careful and try not to get oven cleaner on the handles as it removes the paint there too. It wont hurt the brushes, just looks funny! LOL
Another stellar tip from my wonderful and brilliant friend. I used this for quite some time after your initial video. But using that baby oil as last step for the large landscape brushes is a life, and money saver. Thank you for sharing.
Brilliant? Oh my, you are really making my day/night! Caution!!!!! Be sure to swish your large landscape brushes really well in thinner before painting with them. You will need to get the baby oil out as it does not dry like other oils. Looking forward to see you on TH-cam soon. 💖
Glad you like them Mouza! There are just so many things to learn when one is just starting to paint, so I am glad I could give you some of my tips. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
You know. I decided to paint with acrylic because the clean up is quick and easy. I never thought that cleaning oil paint would be as easy as the way you showed it. Thank you so much for this tutorial. Now I will start investing in oil paint and brushes and clean my brushes the way you did. This is so awesome.
@@PaintingWithYovette My sin bought me water soluble oil paint for Christmas and I used them only twice so far. Still haven’t got the hang of it yet. If you love them as much as regular oil, then I will use them along one of you oil tutorial videos.
Thank you for the tip! I was about to chuck my old brushes out I’ve only done three brushes now need more to go since I fell over at the start of the year and broke my ligament in my ankle so i wasn’t able to go back and clean them! Lifesaving tip 😊
Happy to be of help Annichaaa! Brushes are so expensive, so it is good to take care of them as best you can. Hope your ankle will heal completely real soon.
Hi Yovette. How did you know yesterday I found couple of my brushes hard......lol I normally wash my brushes out with pure baby oil. I followed a tip from Marion Dutton on cleaning oil brushes. I don't think all the paint is really coming out of them. I will have to go through all my brushes with easy off to make sure they are good and clean. One thing I did notice is that when you were showing your container of baby oil with the paint sediment on the bottom, why don't you put a zip lock bag in your container then pour the baby oil in. This way you can just dump out the (still good) baby oil in another container, remove the zip lock bag with the paint sediment in and throw that away. Put a new bag in and pour the baby oil back in that. You can reuse the baby oil over and over again and your container always stays clean due to the zip lock bag catching all the paint sediment. Thank you for sharing your wonderful hints and tips. Always look forward to watching your videos. Link to zip lock back tutorial. th-cam.com/video/9b7XgvkjTpU/w-d-xo.html Take care Yovette and have a great day. Hugs, Jackie
Ha ha! I am psychic Jackie! Normally I clean my brushes out right away too, but every once in a while, I make a boo-boo! Thank you for the tip on plastic bags. I used to do that all the time, and don't know why I quit, so thank you for the reminder. Oh, I just looked at the link...Mazart! She is great! Thanks again, hugs.
I'm so lazy about cleaning my brushes properly and I don't have too many places to beat the devil out of it. I'm going to try your method. Thanks Yovette!
You can use mineral spirits mixed with liquif white Vicki, but your paint will dry pretty fast. I use lnseed oil instead which makes it more like liquid white and dries like regular oils. Mineral spirits is mostly used to disolve or remove paint. But you can use them together. If I want a really fast dry, I have used that.
You can purchase from large box stores here, but I don't know if they will ship to where you live. Maybe try Amazon? Otherwise, Blick art, or Jerry's artarama.
Good afternoon Patricia. To clean thinner, just pour all of your used thinner into a old jar or bottle, put a cap on it, and leave it sit for a week or two. Be sure not to shake it. The longer it sits the cleaner it gets. All the paint particles will settle on the bottom. When you can clearly see through the thinner, then pour it into a new jar and it's ready to use. I always recycle or clean my thinner like this. Great tip to know. Hugs
I have no idea about wd40 Sue. I have never used it. I would say, try it. The worst that could happen is you may have to clean just clean your brushes with soap and water afterword's. Let me know if you do try it. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing that. I explained in several of my videos, if you have a brush that frays out, just after cleaning it, you just need to wrap it while it dries, just like a diaper. It will dry like original. Hope that helps you.

Hi Angie, I only have partial videos on acrylic as underpaintings, and then they are covered on top with oil. I am still working on some acrylic techniques, but not really pleased yet. I will post them when it starts working. Thank you for inquiring.
Oil removes oil, even hardened oil. Use safflower oil, even Canola Oil. No fumes or chemicals. It'll soften. Wipe on old towel. Then wash with Murphys Oil Soap when softened. Rinse well and finish with a lihht coating of Safflower oil.

No, el limpiador de hornos no dañará los cepillos en absoluto. No puede dejar los cepillos por mucho tiempo y debe limpiarlos con agua y jabón de inmediato. Gracias por tu pregunta.
This is just baby oil Yi yu. It can be any brand, just be sure to blot your brushes really well to get almost all the oil out. Thank you for your question.
Thinner ,or just baby-oil ? Do I need both ,thinner ,and oil . .? I have problems with getting pneumonia, would paint thinner, hurt my lungs ? I don’t do well with chemicals. I believe I got my disease from pesticides and insecticides from my vegetable garden,my husband accidentally sprayed with . Thanks again.
If you have a problem with pneumonia Free Spirit, definitely do not use chemical. I often use thinner first, but you don't have to. You can just use baby oil. That works great!
