Yo Patrick this was very helpful. I've been trying to record on the mox8 for 2 days and couldn't find any tutorials on it. I keep getting stuck in the song mode trying to record over the other songs. Never thought to scroll to an empty song slot. It was one of the first things you said. I have the motif 6 also but have never tried to record on it because I felt it was to complicated. Your tutorial was very clear and helpful. I can now use both of my boards to record. Thanks a million bro.... Peace
What I've been trying to find out is how you can then sequence the entire song after you've recorded your individual sections. Like for example, I've created a loop for drums, piano, guitar, and that serves as my verse, but want to then enter into a chorus, which is a whole other loop of drums piano and guitar. How do I do that?
Hello Patrick Simeon- Can you please do a video on retrieving recordings from a smart media card. I've done recordings on mine and can't seem to remember how to get my recordings to play. Thanks or if any other Motif ES users can chime in please! Thanks!
I hope u have figured it out, by now. If not, git ur Motif out & fire it up. Keep n mind, I use flashdrivez, not cardz, BUTT da process, should b da same. Datz my thinking. Assuming u correctly saved ur data, u then wanta hear whut u recorded, @ a later date. Turn da Motif on. When da unit iz finished loading, now u may mount ur card n2 da Motif. Now u wanta go 2 ur FILE button. Make sure CARD, iz da dsired format selected, n da display. It should b da dfault setting, if not, make sure ur storage medium area, iz hi-lited & scroll down, by either using ur NCREMENT/DCREMENT BUTTONZ, or by using ur DATA NTRY TURNSTILE. Since u wanta hear ur recordingz, u wanta select LOAD. LOAD iz connected 2 a FUNCTION BUTTON. I do not remember which 1, bcause I am not n front of my keyboard & I do not have a manual handy. U can probably go online 2 Yamaha 2 download a manual. Perhapz it cost $. I do not know. I would say u can use uncommon, common sense, & figure-out, whut u r doing. CLUE: If u have used da correct FUNCTION BUTTON, then LOAD will bcum hi-lited, while everything else, stayz dark. So once u have LOAD hi-lited, u r now gonna ndicate YES, u want 2 load. When u hit YES, it should now take u 2 ur folderz, where ur recordingz r stored. Now it iz a matter of selecting ur dsired folder. ARROW over 2 them & scroll up or down by use of NCREMENT/DCREMENT buttonz, or by using da DATA NTRY TURNSTILE. Once ur dsired folder iz hi-lited, then u wanta say or hit YES. Da folder or filez, should load & now u should b able 2 njoy ur recordingz! I think I have covered all basez. If not, let me know. BEST WISHEZ!
