By any chance do you have any of the games between UVA vs. NC State in Sampson senior year. Especially the one where wittenburg scored 25 points in the first half.
Hi--no I sure don't. There is another guy on TH-cam (Stephen Barnett) who has the ACC Championship and the West Regional Final however. I still have some more tapes to go through and I continue to find surprises so if I do happen to find one I'll get back to you,
Back when CBS had only one Sweet 16 game per night and it was in the 11:30 PM ET time slot. So that meant one taped delay game and one in the West regional that was live.
@@stevenmandl4920 The CBS contract with the NCAA only allowed for one regional semi final per night and since the tournament wasn’t. As big as is now CBS broadcast the game at 11:30 ET. And with only one regional being out west one of the nights was tape delayed. When NBC had the tournament except for 1977 the sweet 16 games were not broadcast nationally but were broadcast by NCAA productions and made available for purchase by stations in the [participating teams markets. And FWIW until CBS took over the whole tournament in 1991 1st round games were made available that way.
@@paulsonj72 In 1984, CBS had Wake Forest-Depaul on tape and Georgetown-UNLV live. i believe that in areas which received the Wake Forest vs. DePaul game (most of the nation), CBS joined the Georgetown vs. UNLV game in progress (although some stations may have aired a syndicated program at 11:30 and carried the Georgetown vs. UNLV game in its entirety at midnight)
Hi Will--I put all the videos I had of Ralph out there that weren't already on TH-cam. A couple of other sites (Steven Barnett, NCAA on Demand) have other videos of Ralph.
HMMMMM... time travel basketball court???? Even though the 3 point shot wasn't in effect..... Isn't this the current iteration of NCAA rules? Even through the 3 point changes, looks like this conference got it right.
It’s amazing how many of these identical round basketball arena/convocation center/whatevers were built in the 1960s
Gary Williams would be the head coach of the Maryland Terripans for 20 years plus a national title
Amazing how quickly BC bounced back after the point shaving scandal involving the 1978-79 team
Ralph Sampson "continues his quest for that elusive national title." Well, I'm afraid it was the elusiveness that continued, if not on this night.
Do you have the 1982 BC/DePaul tournament game?
Ralph Sampson was Goliath on a court full of Davids.

Don Rutledge is the lead referee. Jim Bain & Mike Tanco are linesmen.
Spectacular intro by Dick Stockton
The last college win for Sampson.
