  • Dear Diary, today I had the honour of hosting brother Zuhaib and brother Adnan again. As we were all free, I thought it would be a good idea to view the house for sale nearby. Allhummabarik.

    You’d never stop the damp to that house, the render should have started 100mm from the base to stop it wicking, even with a DPC, which it might not have, it would be a full time job painting and re rendering it.

    • @MyBritishPakistaniLife
      @MyBritishPakistaniLife  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Your right, I looked into DPC after your comment and think that this should be something that is needed here. Also I think there are new bricks being used here that do not absorb moisture.

      @Westlec 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@MyBritishPakistaniLife yep I think it would need a surveyor to look at it before considering buying, maybe why there’s so many unfinished/empty properties in development?

    • @MyBritishPakistaniLife
      @MyBritishPakistaniLife  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @Westlec the property market is down at the moment. Those who have invested in multiple projects can not sell, so they don't want to build on the land they bought.
      Also, Pakistan doesn't have surveyors to come out and check. You kind off have to wing it yourself.

    Assalamu Alakuim Farhan Bhai! Hope you had a Zabardast Awesome Eid as well. As far as the guys filling the fuel or petrol at the pump those are the attendants in charge. Saying this based on living in New Jersey USA since they had the attendants in charge filling up the gasoline in your car. Only two US states had full service Gas stations when I was there few years back which was New Jersey and still is the only state as if now and it was Oregon. Since I was in New Jersey for a decade I was getting the training to come to Pakistan with diversity and of course a flare of Pakistani Subcontinent because most of the Gas stations in US were Self Service I'm not sure about UK or Europe maybe you could educate me on that or I will search it on my own time. Anyways did you read the comment on the previous vlog regarding a expat meeting up idea at Mani s Food Cart at I-8. What do you think of that Farhan Bhai?

    • @MyBritishPakistaniLife
      @MyBritishPakistaniLife  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Walaikumsalaam, yes in the UK it is self service.
      Are you an expat? Please email me, I'm trying to organise a meet up this Friday evening at F6 Markez.

    The damp in the property is shocking 😲

    • @MyBritishPakistaniLife
      @MyBritishPakistaniLife  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree. Generally, paint can not stop damp from spreading. No membrane is used to prevent wager from seeping through.
      There is an easy fix. You can tile all walls with normal tiles or granite or marble.
      There is natural stone available here at an affordable rate. That can also be used to cover the walls. It will give it a really cool look.
      Alternatively, spend extra on paint and use the weather sheet paint, which can withstand extreme sun and rain.

    What kind of a Rent could that property achieve?

    • @MyBritishPakistaniLife
      @MyBritishPakistaniLife  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Great question.
      Full house should bring you £130 per month.
      If you decide to keep the upper portion for yourself and rent out the bottom floor, you can get £60-£65 per month for the bottom floor.
      Alternatively, renting out the upper portion instead will fetch you more. You can let that out for £70 per month as it has a higher value as compared to the bottom floor.

    Why do Pakistani Oil Pumps Charge for Example 20 Litres of Petrol,....When they actually put in about 16 Litres.
    I Know this from personal experience,...Whenever I took my plastic 20 Litres Dubbi ( Can )for fill up for the Generator, and asked for 20 Litres,
    We could see that the 20 Litres Mark was well away from how much petrol was put in the can.
    Why doesn't the Government offices Regulate such open theft?

    • @MyBritishPakistaniLife

    @shazhusssain1738 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Excellent good work although this property is very poor building works and quality of materials is bad so definitely not worth 25k more like 8k😊

    • @MyBritishPakistaniLife

      It's a ready built house which will always hold a higher value than building it yourself.
      Also take into consideration the land price

    • @MyBritishPakistaniLife
      @MyBritishPakistaniLife  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Also, you can buy the same size plot for £8.5k, in the same location. Then it's just down to you what materials you want to use.

      Just that land costs £8.6k, so the property can not be devalued that much. Even with the flaws, a local person can pay that asking price as they overlook all of the issues.
