That's a myth. Bardot said she tried blond hair already in the week-end of Neron and "En effeuillant la marguerite". And Vadim saw her with this color of hair and told her to stay with this hair. Released long hair (nobody did that before on screen) and she used her own clothes on the movie "and god created woman" and she didn't have any make up artist. It was the movie of Vadim but she just shoot his wife as she was. On the other hand, He made with Catherine Deneuve and Jane Fonda, a product, a new BB. There's plenty of famous people who are only interested in money, followers & fame. Not Bardot!! She sacrificed her movie career for her work on animal causes & that, for me, shows her true heart. 🙏💯💯👑💚

I like BB everything up to mid 1950s. '' Embracing her natural beauty....known for her touseled blond hair...'' Ahem. Her blond hair wasn't hers yet, back then. I prefer her as brunette / dark blonde, not cos light blond wouldn't suit her, it does, but because she abandoned natural face when she started bleaching. Her makeup was heavy, and didn't do her good. Her face was very, very pretty sans makeup. And she was super adorable as Marina, and in that era. Still beauty as Juliette. Same with her style, that bohemian mishmash and shabby hair coiffure is quite appalling to me. But in her best days, it really was all natural, light, childlike, but still more polished and orderly. Just like a porcelain ballerina.
Grace Kelly was known as a cool blonde, but naturally she was not that cool blond, but also brunette, or maybe dark blonde. She had clean, pretty face, and her makeup was actually purposeful, added nice colors to her face, her colors, but very sparingly and subtly. Brigitte Bardot came from a completely different background and she had a good number of roles before she was able to attract the attention of the Hollywood studios. That is the reason why her image changed completely when she established herself as a Hollywood star. She was a brunette then she became a blond and then with the assistance of the Hollywood image makers the French super sexy blond that appealed to the audiences of that era. Whatever is the case, Bardot had a longer and by far more interesting career and filmography than that of Grace Kelly. And she abandoned acting with her own decision and not because she got married with some celebrity or prince. She had full control of her career and her image.

No comparison. Grace Kelly was elegant, beautiful, classic and sophisticated. Brigitte Bardot was NOT elegant or sophisticated. Without eye liner, her eyes ceased to exist. She did have sex appeal and used clothing (bikini) that was considered tabu on her day. I do love her animal advocacy, and the fact she does NOT like the idea of foreigners that are not of European heritage in her country. If I had to choose, I would choose Grace Kelly. There is a reason why she is famous all over the world vs. Bardot, a woman that no one remembers.
