Last night could well be a significant game in our season. The fact that RLB not only started EFL out of position but opted to get ninety minutes into his legs rather than take him off around seventy minutes is a very strong indication that he's in the starting line-up come what may. A square peg in a round hole is understandable given the lad's talent. Soon our wide left players will return to fitness and will be reinstated. ELF will play centrally. Hopefully, Samed can force his way into the reckoning and Browne will be back. There will be fierce competition for midfield places. Our current outstanding trio will raise their game. Shrewd move from RLB.
Why is everyone saying he missed 2 pens, Isidor did NOT miss a pen or 2, The keeper Trafford saved both, there a difference. Trafford even said he studied Isidor's Pens and knew where he was going on both accounts. The ref was Crap, to be honest, the first pen should have been a free kick, thus if it was given, then the Burnley player would have been send off, but no guarantee we would have scored from it. Isidor has scored goals that have contributed to the position where we are now. He will make this up, that's just Isidor. We really have to think we have taken 4 point from Burnley this season. Not many can say that this season. we played good, and will only get better. HWTL
@@petercoles373 rubbish Trafford was moving before the ball was struck . Ref shud have made penalties never taken . Get behind the lad and stop the bitching 😡😡😡
The second was a good penalty he struck it well, the goalie guessed right and made a good save. Your commentary is spot on Joel. We live to fight another day.
To Wilson it won't be the only one you miss and your brave enough to take penalties when others would crap themselves so take heart and keep taking the chances you are given you will score more than you'll miss. Good on you for being up front!
Excellent analysis. We're all gutted. However from only having 24% of the ball in the first half, we improved beyond belief in the 2nd. Best team in latter stages. Keep the faith ! We are still in the mix ! Howay the Lads !
I haven't felt like this since our playoff game against Luton... After a bit of time - at least we can take the positives, we created massive chances (not just the penalties) against the best defensive team this league has ever seen. If we keep that up, we'll be more than fine. Unfortunately I still have a gut feeling that this will cost us in the long run.
If it wasn't for Isidor we wouldn't be where we are now, you've got to feel for the lad. I'm sure he'll come back stronger from this. Anyway, I think, overall, we were the better side and it's a four pointer. HWTL.
Last night was a huge learning curve for the whole team. Our leaders on the pitch (esp Neil, Jobe, O'Nien....) are now stronger but have some way to go to survive in the Premiership. Priority is now to be more clinical in front of goal. As for penalties, I suspect La Fee has a wide repertoire at his disposal and may be our best penalty taker right now.
Quality video as always my mate. I’m frustrated with Isidor but I agree in general. He’s generally been class this season for us & last night we shouldn’t forget that. He had the balls to take the second pen & loved the way people went around him. We played well, especially second half considering who we were up against.
Before kick off I would've took a point and part of me is still thinking this is and could still be a good point, providing we beat Derby and Plymouth which are both must wins now especially if we want top 2 but after the penalty dramas it is 2 points dropped as well, yes Burnley could say it was karma cos 1 was never penalty cos it was outside the box and the other was very soft but we would've took it and unfortunately we didn't take advantage of some shocking decisions that actually went for us, I'm not gonna lie I do feel for Wilson a bit cos the poor lad was almost in tears and also I think Neil and Le Bris need to take a bit of criticism cos after the first miss 1 of them should've said no you've already missed, it's in ya mind and let someone else take it, if Wilson wanted to take then he really needed to make sure he scored the 2nd to justify the instructions or his judgment and he failed so on that matter I feel for the lad cos he's a good character and he is hurting but he still has to take responsibility and learn from this and that goes for Neil being the captain and Le Bris the coach in a situation like that cos that's 2 big games away from home where penalties have either cost us a win or a point, aside from the penalty dramas there was positives to take from the game, even though for most of the first half we were very sloppy and nervy I thought Le Fee really stood out on his debut, he was the only one that was calm and composed on the ball and 2nd half he should've got an assist and to be fair 2nd half we were much better, apart from 1 or 2 moment's we controlled and should've won it but unfortunately it wasn't meant to be and we've just got to take this point and make it count cos if we get the 6 points in the next 2 then it's been a really good return
Not that this is any consolation but there was an Argentinian striker who missed three pens in a game for the national team. All three missed the target by yards. He was totally arrogant to boot..
Wrong and boringly outdated .. there is no one better in the team who can dictate from the back. Pass from the back. Drive from the back. Communicate deon the back and noone who will put themselves in harms way as much. This isn't the 80s and we don't need 2 cds who can kick long and head hard. He's not perfect but the times we have (rarely) played mepham and ballard it looks like we are missing something ... its what I wrote above and this is how every team plays now. He's not the best but he's the best we've got
@@davidhumphrey608wouldn't waste your time explaining it mate. If people still have that opinion of O'nien they'll never really understand what he brings to the team. We'd have been delighted if Patterson had indulged in all shithousery that Trafford did. No complaints. Two really poor penalties from Isidor and Trafford did his job. We need to sort out the penalty taker situation because Isidor clearly isn't up to it either.
I'm actually pleased with how we played in general , yes we should have won but there's so many ifs and bits throughout the season any fan can pick out moments and say we could have double the points we've got. This performance really gives me confidence that we can maintain a big push for top 2 le fee looks class above. Hopefully isidor won't dwell on it to much I love the bloke already 😂 .incidently I'm 56 and I cannot remember a single sunderland team that has so much power and pace / skill as this one . We got a point away at Burnley we didn't lose ground and were well in the mix .
Would have taken a point before the game but after the game it felt like a loss due to the 2 Penalty misses! Isidor has to score one of the pens, but he didn't so it is what it is! Everyone needs to support Isidor as he's been class for us and will get better and he loves our club and we love him 🙏 Dust has settled and its a fantastic point away from home in which I feel that we were the better team. Leeds and Boro Away will be our most toughest tests remaining this season so I see no reason now why we can't go on a run of winning games starting from Tuesday at Derby! Next few games are winnable and if we win them both we will be right up there for the Automatic positions even more so 👌 Mepham injury is an absolute sickener! We are so so unlucky with injuries, we seem to get bad ones every other game 😢 we have to go out and sign a few defenders on Loan and get a Striker in to bolster our squad! Ha Way the Lads
Absolutely get behind the lad he had the balls to take them especially the second one, he is a talent and Sunderland through and through. Let’s curb the anger he did not miss them on purpose, onward and upward.
A pen is a 50/50 chance....taker against Goalie...Goalie has the chance to be a hero like the taker has...The Ref allowed Trafford to time waste excessively...Dan Niel should have taken the pressure till Trafford was ready and the Ref ...Then give the ball to the taker...Exactly How Liverpool do it...Lessons to learn...Only Leeds away left to play...The other top 3 still have to play each other.
For the first time this season Burnley will consider a home draw a point gained and not two lost. Says a lot about the performance. RLB got his selection and tactics right. After a suspect first twenty minutes we grew into the game and by the end could lay claim to being the better team. We just couldn't put the cherry on top. EFL showed enough to see he's going to be an asset. Has to play more central but who gives way? The midfield trio was excellent last night. That said we need rotation even though we were the team going for it in the later stages there were signs of fatigue. There are only two ways to look at a penalty. If it goes in it's a good one if not it's poor. Whatever the circumstances. The excellent Isidor will use last night as fuel for the rest of the season.
Was angry we miss two pennas, but being honest both pennas were soft decisions. Keeper should of been booked both times for taking the piss, BUT, keeper from Cockermouth and ref from Carlisle😉
It's unfortunate and I get hurting over lost opportunity but at the end of the day this was always going to be a difficult match Going in I would have been happy with a point and coming out I'm still happy. It's unfortunate but at the end of the day we made really good chances against one of the best sides in the league - if we can keep it up then we'll be just fine
I also was truly pissed with the second being missed but I stand by Isidor. He has balls not like some of the tossers having a go at him. Those away fans were proof we stand by him. Trafford should have been sent off, booked for the first carry on and then the second 'injury' was sheer shit housery.
I feel bad for the lad, first penalty wasn’t good but the second one was a great save. Was annoyed in the moment but the lads been class for us all season you can’t hate on him. Also idk who else would have taken the penalty, Le Fee maybe but it’s was his first game for the club you don’t wanna put that pressure on the lad.
Take the pens out agreat game we played well, happy with the draw although I think we deserved the win & the pens in the mix I could get really upset but we're Sunderland so half expected it at least we didn't loose and that's 4 points of them sounds not to bad
Should have been nowhere near the second pen, Captain should have took the ball off him. Wilson was still gutted from the first pen you could see in his body langauge. However, its not the end of the world, we played well, he played well and we have Le fee, more players coming in and hopefully players like Mundle coming back.
Really disappointed with the outcome of the game but for crying out loud get off the lads back as he has apologised, let’s move on to Tuesday. If we get another penalty Isidor will put it away. Still another valuable point on the road.
