I remember getting sonic boots the FIRST time I beat chapter 9. I STILL haven't gotten a claimh solais +1 yet, but I have 5 Valmanway +1... and the max str with miser rings maxes out at 10 million I think. My greatest thrill nowadays comes from playing on a 6 man team with 5 noobs, and getting them thru all 11 stages on hard. If anyone still played this game, that is.
i have a formula for all the souls chap 1-6 to get his base magic maxed out, get ebisu raimont from chapter 10 normal (if you need a weapon yatsuna drops from the first flying mobs you find here), 9 dead warrior souls from the start of chapter 9, three 7s, and royal crown if possible (uraeus is another crown with the same luck you can sub out for that one which is from chap 7 normal). you will swim in souls with this set up, a few runs on each chapter should be enough to get normal souls, and boss souls drop pretty fast, i got all the chap 1-6 boss souls very quick on normal this way.

I just tend not to go so hard on souls for those chapters to give myself more stuff to farm in groups, but I always eventually do this for r death and r the creature souls, which r the creature is a slog no matter how you approach it.

Should also mention that the compendium. If you put on your best luck gear with soul eaters, it will change the drop % based on the gear your wearing. So you can compare to your normal gear your using to see if it's worth it to you.
So I'm hunting r the creature souls atm and you know how hunchback can be petrified by queen Medusa? Well he stays alive after you kill the creature so I got a theory that it stops his soul from dropping. I've gotten the creatures soul this way twice in a row too
@@missreece.channel it helps, i finished off the chap 10 souls on normal soon after this, not a single r hunchback as long as he is stone when you kill creature.
soma imho allows for a more newb friendly playstyle. he gets tons of weapons armours and souls. sure he is an EQUIP char. but that also means while u grind soma. u also get gear for say alucard richter simon etc. plus his souls allow for some serious damage and agility. compared to others. he is a great middle ground. and i see why they put him on top. yoko charlotte and maria are the best casters still tho. charlotte being just absolutely busted if u run her in co-ops.
what's your weapon grinding loadout? i've been farming theif rings for god knows how long but cant get any to show up, so i'm looking for other options that'll allow me to slave away at chapter 8 hard a little less
I was lucky enough to start my Soma with weapons since I played Alucard prior to starting him. And the Soma-only weapons that I do have, I was actually running an INT build at the time. In fact, every Gold chest weapon that I've gotten on a Soma, I have been in an INT build not a Luck build. My INT build leaves me with around anywhere from 22-27 Luck only; depending on if i wear Royal Crown or Dragon Helm. On the Alucard, I was running a Luck build for all the weapons (except Valmanway) but I've never farmed any from chapter 8. I was running STR + Ebisu on Ch7 for that. But I've also gotten it on Ch6 full STR. The old consensus is Somas should be running Ch 8 but my Soma has gotten it on Ch 6 a few times. I usually run a full STR build for chapter 8 Hard. I just try to kill him as fast as possible then rinse & repeat. My Soma has never gotten a weapon drop from Legion on any of my hard runs. Unfortunately I haven't logged enough kills on Legion with Soma on Hard to provide any useful advice. I do know that Legion Hard with a full Luck build sucks. Its just too big of a STR loss for overall damage and too big of an INT loss to break the shell all at once quickly. At best, I would say run your normal build, throw on an Ebisu (if you have it), Dead Warrior and hope for the best. As far as the thief rings, I got it on Shanoa since her loot table is a bit smaller than Soma's for that boss so it was only a matter of time before the rings dropped. Sometimes its worth using a different character, if you can, to get rings, cloaks, shoes. Charlotte works well due to her having smaller loot tables. Soma's loot tables are so bloated plus you got the Soul in the mix as well.
Yes, definitely for souls. However it's always been debatable whether gold chests are affected by wearing luck or rare gear for other items. I think it always good to wear something, you may not get what you want right away but you'll definitely see higher star items more often.
@@missreece.channel Honestly, I would love to see all the different soul abilities and demonstrating what they can do. I've seen some of Aria and Dawn, but i've never seen anyone do demonstration on HoD's souls
I'll think about putting something together. I took a huge break from the Soma soul grind because dlc burnt me out alittle bit. It's been a good long while so maybe I can pick it up again.

What weapon are you using ?
People still play HoD? Is there a PC port or way to play on PC?
There is a fan made unity version with a couple different levels but it's missing a few too
if your pc can handle the RPCS3 emulator you can play it there and it runs flawless. theres a discord server as well where some ppl play online still.
