    These are my favourite videos, and the ones I specially give a thumbs up: hidden gems. We all follow the AAA titles, but only YOU are capable of turning Steam upside down when searching for these hidden titles. Thank you for your service.

    Haiku, the Robot is one of my favourite games of the year. It felt like playing a pixelated Hollow Knight, which is probably the highest praise one can give. May I add The Tarnishing of Juxtia to the list, a Souls-like with gorgeous pixel-art. And I also would like to give a shout-out to The Captain, a point & click adventure with minimalistic but equally beautiful pixel-art. I'm cheating a bit on that one, because it was actually already released back in December of last year.

    Midnight Fight Express does look awesome! Even better than a John Wick movie.
    Haku The Robot has really nice colour palette imo.
    Souldiers pixel art platform combat looks fun.
    Patrick's Parbox looks fun for a puzzle game but Wilmet's Warehouse really sticks in my mind for that kind of game - especially if you have worked in a warehouse!
    Card Shark looks really fresh and fun!

    I have to put in my 2¢ on the knight witch, but I’m not sure what to say, because I didn’t play it very long. The craziest thing is that I didn’t stop playing because I didn’t like it, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to pick it back up… geez, how do I explain this without spoiling the story?
    Let me start off by saying that I was more excited to play this than anything else over the last few months. And the fact that the devs got me to play it knowing there is a random card battle system involved, is nothing short of a miracle! I don’t like cards, they have no place in my life, and I don’t want them within a five mile radius of my games. PERIOD! Yet that wasn’t even the thing that made me stop playing, it was the story. Maybe I was just feeling a little extra sensitive that particular day, but when I started learning about the deception in some of the main characters, and how their entire system is corrupt, and the majority of the populace are unaware… well, it just hits a little too close to home, and brought up many of the same feelings I get in real life when I try to show people what a joke this world is, and how essentially everything we think we know is wrong, and how we are most likely heading towards something pretty bad in the not too distant future. It’s already too much to deal with in real life, I don’t need these uneasy feelings during my entertainment time.
    I’m sure I’ll eventually pick it back up, but I just can’t right now. My only gripe when it comes to gameplay is the cards, it would be better to just pick certain spells to use with specific buttons (same thing with astral ascent, the cards just get in the way).

    Is Moonscars any good on Switch? I've been playing on xbox series x and the game is good, fun and all, but I the controls have been a major issue for me. A lot of the times the game simply don't recognize your actions. For exemple casting a spell and moving the left stick to either side to move before the spell is finished will leave your character standing still because the game sometimes don't recognize the imput, so you have to wait the animation end before telling the game where you want to go. A lot of times that made me die or put me into annoying circunstances.

    Clemmy before I forget to ask, is there any way you could send me links to all the videos you’ve ever done? I know it’s a pain, but TH-cam is messed up where they only let you go back 3 years, and I’m searching for an indie game from probably around 2015 or so. I’m pretty sure you were the only indie based channel I was watching at the time, so it has to be something you highlighted (it was an isometric action/rpg possibly roguelite, and had a graphic style somewhat similar to a cross between hyper light drifter, and fountains. You were referring to it as a Zelda style game, and the only image I remember was the character in a forest, I believe he was lying down next to or on a rock (if you can guess what it is from that description, you really are the indie game king!!!)

    • @ClemmyGames
      @ClemmyGames  ปีที่แล้ว

      channel didn't exist in 2015 :P I can't easily generate a list of links to ALL videos made (youtube is not helpful in that way). any more specific details? colour palette maybe?

    • @scottbaylo
      @scottbaylo ปีที่แล้ว

      For some reason I seem to remember it looking like pastel colors. A grey rock, green shrubbery, maybe a purplish hue around the rocks… and for some reason the word path is in my head. I don’t think it was pathless, but it’s been a few years now, and it could just be another word that reminds me of the word path… it’s so frustrating!!! Also, there’s a good chance it was introduced as a kickstarter, steam green light, or go fund me I suppose. Because there was very little info besides a short clip of the character in the forest. And I’m pretty sure it had good animation if that means anything.

    I’d say that the thumbnail sums up this year pretty good, a lot of amazing Metroidvanias , and there’s no sign of it slowing down! Souldiers might be my favorite metroidvania of all time, but it’s kinda hard to compare it to the best Metroid or Castlevania when I’ve had 20 years to enjoy them, and only a year of Souldiers.(speaking of metroidvanias Clemmy, we need to have a little talk with the folks at askiisoft and see if they will either consider doing a metroidvania spinoff or go that route with the sequel to Katana zero? I’m probably in the minority, but I didn’t think the gameplay fit the graphics/art style.
    I was expecting something like “Ninja gaiden”, “ninja spirit”, or even “Revenge of shinobi”, but it was more like “out of this world” on speed! And I kept finding myself wanting to stop playing to appreciate the gorgeous graphics because unfortunately you can’t really do that while playing… that Ninja spirit clone is actually really good by the way, can’t wait for it! Hey Sega, can you please do a reboot of revenge of shinobi? It’s definitely long overdue!!!

      @ClemmyGames  ปีที่แล้ว

      ALL TIME? That's high praise.
      Katana Zero DLC is in the works, then there's this old tweet from them, not sure if they are still working on it: twitter.com/askiisoft/status/462351134795915264?lang=en

      @@ClemmyGames I don’t know, maybe I’m crazy, but Souldiers just had perfect animation, the difficulty was just hard enough, level design was better than anything else I can think of right now. And sometimes developers hit a sweet spot where the world feels like it really exists, and all the characters look like they truly belong in it. The speed of the characters, which is always something I look for, is also spot on. I still need to go back and finish it, I was having controller issues where the right analog was glitching out and randomly shutting off whatever I had equipped.

      @@ClemmyGames Makes sense. PS5 version still has a bug where your save file can be deleted at any random time. Both Switch and PS5 apparently also have some sort of issue where an asset (late game, from what I understand) may not load that is required to progress, and restarting the game doesn't fix the issue. I'm not sure if wiping the save file fixes it. I really want to get the game, but as someone who can only game on PS5 or Switch, I'm not willing to risk it. @@greermcgreer8596 I honestly don't know for sure regarding the loading issues. I played Souldiers on Steam and did not have trouble with loading. I heard that people who played it on Nintendo Switch had problems with the loading issues, but I don't know if they corrected that or not. I wish I could tell you. The recent reviews regarding the game did get better reviews because they did fix some bug issues, so it is a possible that they did. My issue with the game was that the developers made the game soft compared to what it was originally. This game back in June on Steam when it first came out, was totally bad ass before they patched it.

    Hey the list is nice but i can barely understand what you’re saying 😅 not trying to be rude but maybe try to work a bit on your pronounciation or talk a little slower

      @@Allen-jj7vv Souldiers was super buggy on release. Like several game breaking bugs throughout the game. Not to mention being poorly balanced. It shouldn’t be on a hidden gem list
