How do artists like you DO this?! Honestly, I would love a breakdown video of the process, how you choose the song, the new style, how you rewrite it, which part is first when you record it. Especially with your Type O styling songs.
You quickly analyize a bands style and "flavour" (rhythm patterns --> like triplets, etc..) without changing the overall "frame" of a song. If you're an empathic musician, you just "know". It's work on an emotional level and based on try and error. Then the right sound is also important. Denis tried to imitate Till's voice as good as he could PLUS sang in Rammstein's native language which gave this song a big boost on credibility. As a guitarplayer I would first assimilate Rammstein's style --> they're overall pretty easy to play! Then get the sound right (GuitarRig 5 Rammfire "can" help". When I know Enter Sandman by heart it just flows and combines easily with Rammstein's style. Can't explain it otherwise.. The next distinguished instruments are keyboard and drums. Their drummer is like a very disciplined human machine. That's fairly easy to immitate or programm if you can't play drums. The keys depend on sound (!) and arpeggiater (?) effect. He did a wonderful and believeable job here!!! Bass next. I don't want to downplay Denis engagement, but the bass sounds quite generic. It does the job. Getting the Bass right is ofter quite complicated. Vocals at last --> as close to the original as possible. Like I said. You need a lot of empathy for this kinda work. Then it just "flows". Or you're an intelectual musician and copy patterns by and bands "algorithms" by brain ;)! Either way: both may work!

@@luketanner7638 It's a literal translation word by word. Those things usually sound kind of weird, especially in lyrics. Not every word translated by Google fits into the context. Let's take "exit light" as an example. The translation as "Licht verlassen" is technically correct if you look at it word by word, but in german that line makes no sense at all. It's basicly the same if you try to translate german to english. In germany, we say "Das Bett machen", literal translation "making the bed", meaning to tidying the bed (e.g. folding the sheets). "making the bed" probably has no real meaning to you and will sound weird. Same for "Licht verlassen"/"exit light". For a proper translation, you would have to know what the author of the original lyrics meant with those lines and then somehow translate them while still keeping the same rhythm and flow (e.g. syllables, letting the words rhyme) of the song. Translating the chrous "Exit light, enter night, take my hand, we're off to never- neverland" while still considering all those things could result in "Das Licht zerrinnt, Die Nacht beginnt, Nimm meine Hand, auf geht's in Richtung Nimmerland" (roughly translated back to english: "light fades away, the night begins, take my hand, let's go towards neverland"). Quite a good example is "Heroes" by David Bowie. If you didn't know, Apocalyptica recorded a german version of the song featuring, yours truly, Till Lindemann (it's called "Helden"). This cover tries to be as close to the original (lyric-wise) as possible, but some things needed to be changed in order to fit the song better.
