I followed your tutorial & attempted to make a Star Lantern but it did not turn out well. I suspect it could be the size of the hongbao (the ones I used is 7cm x 10.5cm). Can I ask what is the dimensions of the hongbag you used? Thank you.
+june koh The dimension of the ang pow used in this tutorial is 8½ cm x 16½ cm. You can use any rectangular red packets and fold it into diamond shape as shown. Hope this helps :-)
with mine didnt work. When you put 6 together and it comes out a bit and nicely fit, mine simple doesnt stay in that nice shape and bending where no crease.
U didn't tell when to take out the clip. I left the clip inside when done staple😨😵😥😡 Furthermore, how to put the string inside also no teach. I hope u will improve your tutorial to make it more easier to understand. And thanks for teaching making this craft.

Hand made lantern for Chinese New Year
Hi. I use the same dimension of envelopes but had to use 7 instead of 6 to get them hold or it won't open up nicely. What did I do wrong?
I don't think there's anything wrong. Sometimes, it just flow better with an additional piece :-)

The folding of the unit is taking the centre of top & bottom as well as the left & right side and fold it into diamond shape. Hope this helps :-)

how big is your red pocket ? I did not see any big size in chinatown, can I use the small size one ?
