Awesome build. I have a sm465 and a 4.3:1 t-case behind a 5.3l LM7 in my '68 Commando. I run 4.56 gears with 39" km3s, and it crawls very well, on Fordyce and Rubicon trails, and it cruises the freeway at 75 mph with ease. Motor revs about 2800 rpm at 70 mph. Just wanted to share that if your still deciding on gears. Love the channel.
dark red or black or black cherry would be awesome paint. but in end it is your jeep so pick a color you like.good work so far on the jeep looking towards more releases.remember have fun
I see im alone with this suggestion, but Project Misfit to me feels like this rough and tough old school trail service rig. A patina paint job that's just perfectly rough around the edges speaks to me! plus shiny paint causes stress and we don't need Rod working Overtime buffing that jeep after dragging it through branches!
Dude I agree! It would make things easier in the long run and body work wouldn't have to be perfect either haha. Rod would stress out way too much with a shiny jeep on the trail lmao. A patina paint is something we have talked about. What color scheme you thinking?
Looks good, wheels are nice. Not usually a fan of 20s but with 42s they look good. Bright solid colors on a trail Jeep. Orange Crush is a great color found on my 13 Jk Or something like a grabber blue, plum crazy , or geko green. No metallics.
I'm not a 20 inch wheel fan but those wheels could change my mind. I think 4:56 or 4:88 would work with the doubler. More beef at the pinion also. I think I remember Rory say he runs 4:10 with his doubler on 40's. Interested to see what you go with.
@@BuiltDifferentGarage Don't laugh too hard but I ended up buying another project YJ. One I have is almost done and I think I'm cutting the cab and making a seven foot bed for the the newest addition. Only info I can find is 57 inches from cowl to the end of the cab. This sound right to you?

Thanks! That is great info, we appreciate that! Still haven’t decided on gears but that helps a lot!
I like dads project Datsun in the background, he's got good taste 😉
It’s actually my brother’s car!

@@BuiltDifferentGarage possibilities are endless, but I love the look of Fred Williams summer camp jeep.
@@SamMatter That Jeep is one of my favorite builds

Definitely no metallics! I’d love to do a green of some sort.
You can't go wrong with a burnt orange paint job!
Orange is one of my favorite colors. I’d be down for that👀
I say orange myself

Agreed! After some research I think 4.88 or 4.56 may be the best option.
