  • Like a house you need a strong foundation for support, when playing a shot you are also moving so maintaining a foundation requires your core muscles to maintain balance and control.
This will help your power and consistency and allow you to use much less energy with better outcomes.
This is a critical lesson all players need to learn, when you do you will never look back.

Do you develop a strong core just by consciously doing it while practicing, or do you also recommend some particular exercises?

+1. Is this something you train on court on in the gym?

Both, although you don't need to be in the gym you can do exercises at home.
The on court comes from playing slightly lower standard players and concentrating on form and balance as well as ghosting which allows you to fully control your body without having to worry about the ball and outcome.
Routines are the next progression as they take out the guessing where the ball is going and allow body structure under workload.
There is a method of identifying and training which I will share in another video.
