- Tractor season is in full swing for us over here at Diesel Care, and we're rebuilding fuel injection pumps on everything from John Deere to Perkins applications. This week we sat down with John Byrd, who had timing questions about his International Harvester fuel pump. Timing is something that can be intimidating for most diesel owners, so we're always happy to answer questions for those who will ask. John's 806 IH tractor has on it the DBG style pump, which is a pump found on several tractor applications. If you're curious about timing your pump on your diesel tractor, watch this video. Will this work also for the 986? I had to replace seals/ Oring in the fuel pump cap, and now i can't get her started and ive never timed the tractor before. I didnt take the unit off the machine. The 986 is a 78' and has a Bosch pump. It doenst have the window you are talking about or at least I cannot find it
Hello I have a 86 f250 4x4 diesel super cab 6.9 idi. So far I have a new db2 injection pump new return line kit new high pressure lines new injectors. Once running it will start right up no issues. But cold sitting over night. I'll warm the glow plugs up it will take it a few cranking revolutions to fire up. Before it would fire right up every time warm glow plugs and first turn it fire right up. Checked for leaks filter housing lines pump see no diesel leaking
