That is true, the law is still here but Jesus has paid our debt for our transgressions against the law (SIN) and we are no longer under the law once we accept Jesus as our Lord and savior and have repented which means we have been Reborn.
This also means you cannot lose your salvation. (assuming you're not a false convert that is)
