    Always enjoy your stuff. The structure is elegant and so coherent, lifting the sounds of these instruments up into places where we can fully hear how interesting they are

    Amazing performance! The Pulsar sounds too good, and the bassline really brings everything together.

      Rick, thank you. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Whatever approach you take with pulsar, it just works. Very versatile and playable instrument. The bass line is from dfam. One can never get enough of that machine.

    Great video ! So the pulsar can really be smooth ? I love the sound but the only demos I’ve heard on TH-cam are showing a quite agressive side of the pulsar

      Many people had asked me the same question. I’ve made this video for that reason. Pulsar has a huge Sonic possibilities. It’s just most of the people who have it, use it for more industrial and harsh sounds.

    Great stuff! I’m waiting for my pulsar to delivered right now. What are a few of your eurorack modules do you think the pulsar benefits from the most? I don’t own any eurorack and I’m hesitant to begin but the pulsar may change that feeling.

      Aaron, thank you. I’d say pulsar has everything you might need to start with. Don’t get discouraged if you can’t get the sound you are looking for right away and jump into buying eurorack modules to aid the situation. There are 23 modules on board to work with. Ones you get a hang of it you’ll be able to get the sounds you are looking for. I had eurorack rig before I got pulsar. Here are some of the modules that I use with pulsar: make noise - maths, flame c-3 for recorded modulation, XAOC devices - Batumi for lfos and randomness. Just remember that pulsar works at 10 volts and eurorack operates at 5 volts. You’ll need a module to increase or decrease voltage, maths does this. I find it that adding effects to sounds helps shape the sound even more. Although I’m satisfied with pulsar looper/sequencer, to make more precise sequences I use tip-tops Circadian Rhythms, keystep pro, or ableton.

      @@SonicJunkie this is fantastic to hear. I’m trying to avoid going modular at all cost due to the unavoidable havoc it would cause to my studio! The main reason for my search into eurorack land is because my hardware synth has four cv outs but they’re +-5v and I was looking for a way to boost them to 10v to get the maximum effect from them for the Pulsar. I’ve decided to scratch that plan for now. The DFAM on the other hand...

      @@soulSaysHi DFAM is just too much fun. I ended up buying it as soon as it came out. I also forgot to mention in the description that i'm using moogs subharmonicon for that pulsating synth sound. Another fun and unique machine for generating really cool sequences. Its a great combo with dfam. Regarding the voltage, if you have keystep pro, it can be set to send 10 volt control voltage.

    killer bro. so can the pulsar do the same job or better that a bunch of modules?

    • @SonicJunkie
      @SonicJunkie  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      James, thank you. So, to put it shortly, you have 23 different modules on Pulsar, thus 23. You can look up on Soma website what these modules are. If you were to buy all of these modules in Eurorack, your price tag would be much higher than what pulsar costs. Its a very intuitive, hands-on and playable drum machine. When programing the it, there are some controls I wish that pulsar did have, like voltage control over envelope generators attack/decay, distortion control, but i mange to get around it by just tweaking knobs endlessly. Its too much fun. I'll be posting more videos demonstrating the different sounds / genres / approaches with pulsar. I've already posted 4 of them, if you wish to check them out.
