Thank you! I appreciate it. I found the instant acceleration unpleasant , as the car seemed eager to veer off course rather than maintain a straight path, likely due to its overly soft suspension. At 6:27, it noticeably bounced more than I'm used to.
I appreciate it😊 I didn’t get a chance to drive the Atto 3, unfortunately, but the Seal U just isn’t for me. The suspension feels too soft, and the car leans too much in the corners. On top of that, the seats don’t offer enough support, which makes it a no-go for me.
Selam 😊 Among these 3 cars, based on Dutch prices, the Atto 3 is the cheapest. But for me, it’s an immediate no, since in the latest Euro NCAP test, the BYD Atto 3 got one of the lowest scores for driver assistance. I do have to give credit to BYD for its LFP battery! Personally, I found the SEAL U EV’s suspension too soft, it even bounces a bit after speed bumps. There’s no way to adjust the suspension, but can I really expect that from a €40,000 car? Now, the KIA EV3 is cheaper than the SEAL U. I won’t say much about the looks since that’s pretty subjective. But for build quality, driving experience, and range, the KIA is more efficient than the SEAL U EV. I’d go for the KIA EV3. Did you try those cars?
Here’s an example: if the driver doesn’t respond, the Atto 3 turns off lane centering but keeps adaptive cruise control on. If the radar or camera gets blocked, it gives a warning but doesn’t turn off. Even Euro NCAP says not to use the adaptive cruise control on the BYD Atto 3. Maybe they’ll fix it with an update, but for now, I’m avoiding the BYD Atto 3.
If looking into the SUV/crossover sphere - which EV would you recommend currently that has a similar pricing as the BYD Seal U? Do you maybe have a list of cars that I should look at and test-drive? Really appreciate your videos and insights!
@@GDrives_NL many thanks for the list! Seems like the Volvo is a little bit smaller and more of a compact SUV. I am not sure if some of the brands are available in Austria.
The Volvo is slightly shorter, but it’s pretty much the same in height and width. You might also want to check out the Renault Scenic it’s got an impressive range! The Ioniq 5 just had a facelift, and the Skoda Elroq is coming soon, priced under €40k. Oh, and I almost forgot about the Ford Explorer EV l. I drove it on the track, and it felt super comfortable and stable, even at high speeds in the corners.
@@GDrives_NL You are absolutely right, great cars. Problem here.. same trim as the BYD costs about 7-10k more than the Seal U. Doesn't really matter which car we are looking at: Elroq, Scenic, Ioniq 5 etc. It seems like that the price is only comparable with the basic trims of all the mentioned cars. And those are pretty "naked" :D
@@JustChilled2602 That's absolutely correct. There are few manufacturers that offer the same specs for the price of a BYD SAIL. However, as you may have noticed, I've driven quite a few EV SUVs, and this one was the least impressive in terms of handling. The car constantly bounced and leaned in every corner. If it's financially feasible, pay a bit more, and you'll get a car that drives better.
Nee helaas. De interface stond in het nederlands, maar de assistent begreep alleen engels. In het filmpje is het niet te zien, maar engels lukte het ook niet. Ik ben inderdaad een Tesla gewend.
I've driven this car and the id4 for like 2 kms (same road) / test drive , it felt way slower than the id4 even though the speedometer was similar in both trips (60-90 km/h) with similar acceleration rate , it felt more comfy especially for the passengers , the id4 felt more instant and sporty and lighter (even though the id4 is heavier), but i don't think the passengers would be happier in the Id4 (but they wouldn't be mad because the suspension is still pretty good in the id4), long story short , im now confused about these two cars.
Which version of the ID4 did you drive? The Pure model seems quite basic. Personally, I wouldn't opt for it considering it has a 55 kWh battery with a real range of under 300 km and only 50 kWh DC charging. Interestingly, it's priced similarly to the BYD. To match the BYD's specs, you'd need to spend at least €50k on the ID4. If these are your only options, I'd lean towards the BYD SEAL U for its price and performance. However, I found the suspension too soft for my liking. Service is crucial too; my experience with Tesla's service has been poor, so I'm considering other brands for my next car. I've heard that BYD isn't very transparent either. A colleague's Atto 3 had a fire incident due to a short circuit, and although the problem was addressed, BYD didn't provide much insight into the cause. The faulty part wasn't even examined in Europe but in China.
Where i live we actually important the Chinese models of both the id4 and the seal U (song plus champion) yes a very silly name but still mostly the same car with less airbags , i tried the id4 pure plus cementic color , both prices are around 34k$ brand new 2023 models , but maintenance would be a through a third party guarantee service, long story short the id4 options was quite enough for my use , the byd seal u (SoNg PLuS ChAmpIoN) felt more luxurious and executive tbh but the id4 is way more common on the streets and each and every part of it in case of malfunction or an accident would be way more cheaper to get or repair unlike the seal u which would bankrupt you.
Where do you live? The BYD model you mentioned is a Hybrid car right? I don't think BYD will go bankrupt. They are backed up by the Chinese government and are now the largest car manufacturer in the world. In the Netherlands, the importer named Louwmans has linked it to the BYD brand. Believe me, they don't just do that.
No its electrical. Am not talking about the company bankrupciey am talking about my pocket bankruptcy , the service and repair for BYD models are 3x the price of any other car cause its still in its first models , things go differently where i like don't worry about these details.
