Serendipity.Excellent explanation of Life Cycle of A Case in The American Legal System. Short and in sharp focus, Dispute Resolution Under Law. Plaintiff Vs. Defendant. "All Litigants Are Created Equal Under The Laws", of A given State. I am a Common Law jurisdiction Attorney and had a Worm View of Litigant's Rights. Thanks, professor Toby Heytens for sharing Bird's eye view of a client's case from inception to Disposition. Why Go to Trial, Sue and then settle at the Court Steps.

Taking my LSAT soon, and wanted to see some actual school material so I can get a glimpse of what’s in store. Would’ve appreciated the PowerPoint but nonetheless, I’m glad this was published for us to watch

I have been practising law for more than 10 years in my home country and watched this presentation due to curiosity. Court system in the USA makes no sense whatsoever...

You explained Claim preclusion and Issue preclusion in a way I can really remember. I see the Courts need all of the facts and law in both the Civil Complaint and in Criminal Indictments. Makes sense; "why didn't I hear about this before" and "I've already decided it."

Isn’t the legal system simply a piece of paper and that has to do with legal rights? If it’s not about morals and ethics then how can it be based on truth? This seems irrational. A piece of paper can’t use logic and identify things in objective reality.

Judges essentially supersede ALL law, with no accountability for harming people.

So everybody still has to start off by saying the word "So." Just like Alicia Silverstone in Clueless. In 1995? Why? Please stop now.

Jesus just has merely two hands, however he could deal with omnipresent hidden frauds and betrayals in his holistic panoramic views! Lord of Universal Hierarchy might help.

3:36 The very essence of law comes from the people, which are the only real substantial living beings that government and law derive its very essence from. Every law has to be in pursuance to the constitution. Period! Fictions of reality are not sovereign, nor are they alive. The American people are the true sovereigns, not the state nor federal.
