I love this too! I'm 28, and even though I live alone for a year in South Korea and another in Los Angeles...both times, I always ended up back with my fam. I don't remotely regret it, and I love seeing other people in their 20s who feel this way!
In my country it's normal for girls to stay in their parents home until marriage and for men to stay forever and bring their children and wife to their parents home... some move out if they have work in different city but that's usually in their late 20's when they have more money for such thing
Kaffeyyyyy Same !! I feel like often love for your parents is contrasted with independence and maturity and I think that’s not true, I always wanna be close to my parents and that’s ok (and I’m also getting my independence from studying abroad so).
„Life is good“ *nervous laugh* 😅 oh Ariel, I feel ya. The universe has its cruel ways of putting our faves across the world, eh? And sometimes we can work around that and sometimes we just can‘t. Sending hugs and wishing you nothing but happiness in BC and wherever life takes you! xxx
"I believe in my ideas, I just need to figure out how to fund them" YESSS GIRL! This is the self-belief I love seeing. Your ideas are fantastic, and I know you'll find a way.
It's a shame whenever a relationship ends but wow 4 years of LDR, that deserves a hearty pat on the back. I'm excited to see the new things that come your way with the move! And books! I'm currently reading "The Sunflowers are Mine" by Martin Bailey, all about Van Gogh's sunflower paintings, the context of their creation, the circumstances of their sales, donations and, in one case, (😭) destruction. Would recommend if you're into art history.
Hi I’m @urbancryptid. I’m so sorry you and Greg broke up. I’m glad I asked because I’ve been curious about it for a while now. Canada is a beautiful place! I’m happy for you that you’re moving somewhere with a lot of nature!
Be sure to check with the uhaul dealer about what you should check each morning before you continue driving. (Oil, Coolant, tires) Also remember it doesn't accelerate or stop as well as a car. Don't tailgate ever. You will be fine! Relax but be vigilant, know where everyone in cars near you are (mirrors). Plan your escape from potential problems. (Traffic). Have fun! You have a really cool plan! Love it!
I don't know how you do it, Ariel. 😅 I'm turning 24 soon and the world is so hard to navigate. I just can't figure out how to define what I want in life. I just seem to go where life leaves a door open, I'm "successful" but I don't don't think I'm fulfilled. I'm excited to see what else you do! You really help me see what is possible for someone my own age. I love knowing there is no one right way to be. So please, just keep on, keepin on.
It's so exciting that you're moving to the gorgeous forests of British Columbia (and that you're bringing all of your books with you)! I have a friend who visited not long ago and her pictures are stunning. I'd love to travel there sometime. I'm sorry to hear about you and Greg. As someone who was in a long distance relationship for 5 years I know that they can be tough. I could never imagine committing to one without an agreed upon end to the distance. I love hearing about all of your creative projects on the horizon! You're such a creative, artistic soul.
Sometimes I can't really manage to watch your videos since they require more attention than the average youtube video (short attention span and low key high key anxiety), but coming back I'm always reminded why you're my favorite. The perfect ratio between professional and personal, books and life, and other things. It always feels real, I'm always content. Keep creating. Big love x
British Columbia welcomes you! I've lived here my whole life and it really is beautiful, and the winters definitely aren't as cold as Ottawa. Oh hey you mentioned Kelowna! That's my childhood city, and I still live in the Okanagan. I think you'll love it in BC! Good luck with your move!
Wow. British Columbia is meant to be stunning and who wouldn’t want to live in a forest. Please make a vlog of the road trip across the country! Glad you’re feeling good and happy.
Some couple of years ago when I was procrastinating in my first years of uni I found one of your videos (I don’t remember which one) and I was struck with your energy and how passionate you are with all you do. I really lost track of you until now, just a few days after I graduated from university. It’s crazy how fast time pass and how life changes. It’s nice to see you are doing well, excited for life and stuff. And you’re right, in the end everything is gonna be fine.
oh god ariel. i just got out of a very intense ldr a couple months ago and it was such a hard thing to get through and i’m still learning how to be okay with how things ended but i do know that i’m okay now and just letting yourself feel the things you need to at the time is so important. thank you for opening up and sharing with us. i wish you all the happiness and love on this new journey in your life. 💖🌸✨💗
Oh my, this hit me - in the most casual way - right in my feelings. You're so wonderful and I'm so happy to hear about your fresh start. Sending you love and good vibes 💚
I really want to give you a hug. Like, for real. I'm glad that things are good, and I really like that you have such a great relationship to your family. I'm close with my family too, but sometimes I feel like I'm not independent enough, so it's nice to hear about your relationship. It makes me more chill, I think. This semester is hard. I need stability, and everything is unstable, or at least not as reliable as it usually is. But next semester should be good, and spring is coming.
I love that you love being near your parents and brother. I know so many people who don't get along with their parents/family and find it odd that I like to spend so much time with mine or have no desire to move far away from them like so many people do, but my family are the people I've known the longest and feel the most comfortable with. I don't live WITH them any longer, but I'm so happy I live NEAR them.
Aww, love you, Ariel! Sorry about the break up, but I love that you have such a positive attitude. Good luck with the move and the long drive! Excited to watch more of your videos in British Columbia. ❤️
I moved when I was 22 to the city where I have now lived for 8 years. I had a day a couple years ago when I realized that the employees at my favorite bookshop and coffee shop knew my name, and knew what kind of books I like and what I take in my coffee. And THAT is when this city really felt like home to me. Nothing beats the city where you can walk into local stores and be greeted with familiar faces.
You’re positive outlook is a ray of sunshine! I’m so happy for you that you are able to make this move with your family, fresh starts can be so freeing. But moving books is a pain in the butt! I’ve moved my collection 4 times and a good unhaul beforehand is a must! I’m currently reading Strange the Dreamer and The Dark Decent of Elizabeth Frankenstein.
I’ve been watching your videos inconsistently for the past two to three years now, but this video made me really happy for you, and I’ve been more compelled to watch your channel more consistently now, I don’t know if it’s because your channel seems to be changing in a way that interests me. But keep up the good work and the good vibes.
I visited Ottawa a month before this video was released and can vouch for the fierceness of winter there. It was so cold I drove across the Ottawa River at one of the ferry crossings just east of downtown. Crazy!
I loved this quick life update and I'm so excited for the new phase/adventure of your life and I CANNOT wait for the Booksandlala and Ariel meetup! It's always been interesting to me specifically watching your videos and the changes and growth you go through because we're the same age and because a lot of your excitement is something I find myself going through as well. I've been 24 for a few months and I too relate to how incredible being at this age has been in terms of change even with it's sometimes low points. I'm excited for all the content you'll make and everything you'll share with us. I'm so glad with the route you're taking with your booktube and non-bookish videos and how you're breaking down some of the topics and experimenting with ideas. If you can't tell, I'm just so excited. I'm always here for people's creativity and experimentation and I'm always ready to hype them up. ✊🏼
I can see that your breakup is painful still to talk about but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. You seem like a strong person, I have been following you for a a few years now and I can see you have real inner strength to get yourself ready for your next adventure 😁😁 #renewal
Hey - I'm so sorry there's a lot of pain behind that laughter and you know life is just so weird that way. The important thing is you get yourself up and moving! I'm so happy you're getting the fresh start you want! British Columbia looks incredible and your fams got your back! Wishing you luck and happiness and I cannot wait for your new content :)
You are so optimistic and even when you aren't at your best you still absolutely just radiate light and peace. Things will get better, but probably not less hectic haha
I love the books shelves you're planning on taking with you SO MUCH and the books are so well laid out. I came back to rewatch the video twice to show other people so felt I should probably give props to the owner as well :p
You can't even start to imagine how beautiful the excitement coming out of you in this video is. You made me feel excited even though I'm struggling a lot with my life right now.
So wonderful to see you happy and excited about the next stage in your life, I'm certainly looking forward to seeing you in a new environment and anything creative coming from you.
Yes. Knitting!! I love to knit my own clothing. The slow, methodical nature of it makes me feel more focused, calm, and in touch with my creativity. I think you'd love it!
you’re so amazing probably many people have told you this but you’re just so... cool and pure and lovable. The way your personality shows on camera is just fjdkcks
Your mind is so wonderful, it's intrugeing to listen to you. Not in a weird way but you just take so much enthusiasm to your videos and your thoughts are put onto video format really clearly! I am definitely thinking to support you on patreon, you deserve it!
I moved to BC this past summer. We moved from Halifax to Victoria. BC is pretty cool. My advice is to enjoy the drive. We drove the whole way and seeing so much of Canada was incredible! I have lived a lot of different places too (Halifax, Charlottetown, Fredericton, a few weeks in Quebec City and now Victoria) and it's so cool to make someplace new home. My family is unfortunately still on the other side of the country so our plan is to return east, someday. If you ever end up in Victoria, check out Russell's, it's the best used book store in town.
I love your videos. Lately, I have been watching so many videos and I found them to be pleasing and very aesthetics kind of philosophy discussion deep into literature and books. And the title of this video is so authentic and I love it. "moving to a forest" is just perfect. And the books you read is something I always picked up, because you have so great taste in books, thank god! Keep it up!
this is unrelated to the video but i was just staring at your nails because i'm obsessed with them lmao also sending you some love during this big life change
This was such an optimistic video and it was exactly what I needed. It makes me want to actually do stuff, instead of just fantasizing. I wish you the best of luck with all your future adventures.
I went through a similar break up not that long ago and it’s the weirdest thing. It sucks! But time really does help. Moving forward you build a life that makes sense living, so you don’t want to go back. And it frees up a lot of time and peace of mind to not be living in two places at once. I only realised how un-present I was in my life after I stopped doing that. Good luck with the move and life !! You’re wonderful !!
My husband and I drove from Kingston, Ontario to Victoria, BC in 2006 and back from Victoria to Kingston in 2010. The worst was to drive out of Ontario. It took us 3 days both times to drive through Ontario . The rest of the drive wasn’t so bad .
Go Ariel!! That's exciting stuff about moving and what you've got in the pipeline creatively. I was sorry to hear about your break up, but I'm sure life will continue to bring you happiness xx
I am graduating with my bachelor's degree in May!!!!! I'm so excited!!! I'm so excited for you Ariel! I know you hit a rough patch but it sounds like you have dusted yourself off and are making an amazing adventure of it all! So happy for you!!! Sending love 💗
So excited for you Ariel!!! I love that you’ve always pushes the boundaries of what booktube is and I’m looking forward to the content you produce in the future!!!
I love how much you love your family! I feel the same way about mine! They mean everything to me and I know that as long as I’m with/near them everything will be ok.
BC is absolutely beautiful! My parents are currently making the move out there from Alberta and I plan on following them after I graduate university at the end of the year. I both want to be near them too and can't seem to get enough of BC. Good luck with your move!
I thought your bookshelves were cute but when you started talking about all the issues the cubes pose, I totally got it. Moving can be a really good opportunity to leave things that no longer work behind. All the best with the move, Ariel!
I’m also currently in a intercontinental long-distance relationship (USA & Germany) and we’re also at that “is this ever going to end?” phase so it’s sad to see other relationships break up because of that. But 4 years is a long time and I’m amazed at how long you made it work. I’m sure it wasn’t an easy decision but I’m glad you’re still friends. Sometimes I think you just meet the right person at the wrong time...
You are such a positive light in the world, I'm glad that you are feeling happier. Speaking from experience, (I ended a 6 year relationship with someone that I thought was the love of my life) , you will end up where you are meant to be and with whom you are meant to be with. I am now engaged to someone I could never imagine my life without. But love does not need to be a romantic relationship. Maybe where you are meant to be right now is with family and friends :). Also yay you are coming to BC! I moved to BC in August all the way from NB and love it here.
Really sorry to hear about the break up. It's actually somewhat distressing. But it's good to kind of make a life adjustment I guess; hope you're both doing ok.
Also, good luck with the moving. I'm happy that you're taking your books and happy that you're excited! Oh and I'm making slow but steady progress on "Don Quixote".
I love the lighting and colors in this video! Your creativity in your aesthetic on youtube and instagram is totally genius! I love that your nail colors are reflected in the book colors in the background. Positively lovely! It's like a hug for the eye haha idk, it's comforting!
Sorry you had to go through a break up, I’m so so happy you’re moving to a new adventure!! I can’t wait to see what projects you release next :D keep shining ❤️
I almost spit out my coffee because I started giggling when you said you had added Knitting 101 to your watch list - I’m knitting while I watch this! Not a sweater, but a shawl. I’m working my way up to making a sweater.
Oh man I hope you're moving back to the OK! I live in the Cayman Islands but was born and raised in the Okanagan (Oliver). Please go visit the Wine Capital of Canada~! I have grandparents, parents, great aunts and uncles all born in Kelowna. Enjoy it immensely. Look forward to your new videos from BC xx
I've lived in BC my whole life and I can truly say I can't imagine living anywhere else! Of course I want to travel and see the world, etc. but BC is so beautiful and I feel like you'll really really love it here! I live near Vancouver myself but even in more of an industrial area the nature is hard to beat :) Wishing you the safest and happiest of travels
Wow Ariel! What a big move :) My sister and I are from NB, and she lives on Vancouver Island, while I'm in Ottawa now. It's far, but much farther for her. At least the weather is worth it! I've heard Kelowna is lovely!! Good luck on your drive!
i love that you're 24 and want to be with your parents
I love this too! I'm 28, and even though I live alone for a year in South Korea and another in Los Angeles...both times, I always ended up back with my fam. I don't remotely regret it, and I love seeing other people in their 20s who feel this way!

Kaffeyyyyy Same !! I feel like often love for your parents is contrasted with independence and maturity and I think that’s not true, I always wanna be close to my parents and that’s ok (and I’m also getting my independence from studying abroad so).
i would love to stay with my parents if they weren't emotionally abusive
@@evam6961 same here
Watching this now after she bought her own house 💜
Same! Lol
😊❤👍
I love your love for your family
emmmabooks they are my best friends ❤️
I love your love for Ariel's love of her family.
“I don’t believe I’ll be moving again” little did she know...
Just do it put your ideas out there and if it’s meant to be they will fund them selves
I'm sorry about you and Greg, but I'm glad to see you this excited about moving and starting a new adventure 💚
Seeing Ariel of 2019 excited to have an office, knowing how far you've come, is lovely.
Going back to watch this now that you bought a house and now engaged!! Life has so many surprises.
There’s something about you and your content that influences me, as well as makes me feel better about life, more specifically about myself...
I’m almost 24, married, and literally live in a house right next door to my parents. I refuse to be too far from them. They’re my peeps. 😂
Carrina May I’m 25 and live at home with my parents. I’m happy there because I can’t afford my own place!
(Oil, Coolant, tires)
Also remember it doesn't accelerate or stop as well as a car. Don't tailgate ever.
You will be fine! Relax but be vigilant, know where everyone in cars near you are (mirrors). Plan your escape from potential problems. (Traffic).
Have fun!
You have a really cool plan!
Love it!
I don't know how you do it, Ariel. 😅
I'm turning 24 soon and the world is so hard to navigate.

Your excitement for life is contagious! I wish you the best luck in your move and future projects! So excited to be along for the ride❤
“IM AN ARTISTE!!!” 😂 This is why I love you so much you wonderful strong human being ♥️
Your love for your family gives me so much validation... it’s nice to know that others in their 20s feel the same way I do!
Sometimes I can't really manage to watch your videos since they require more attention than the average youtube video (short attention span and low key high key anxiety), but coming back I'm always reminded why you're my favorite. I love your attitude! I'm so glad you're doing well and I'm so excited for your big move!
That shelf is so.... Iconic in Ariel history, I remember your bookshelf tour and you organised each of the sections
Before watching this ..
I wanna tell you something ..
"You are great .. you're inspiring me"

My husband and I drove from Kingston, Ontario to Victoria, BC in 2006 and back from Victoria to Kingston in 2010. The worst was to drive out of Ontario. It took us 3 days both times to drive through Ontario . The rest of the drive wasn’t so bad .
Ah! You were the first Canadian booktuber I ever followed, and now you will be moving to my home province! How fun!
I am so so happy for you living your life happily as an artist. Go get em.
hello i love you and i’m genuinely so grateful that i stumbled upon your channel and that YOU ARE HERE
I love how much you love your family!
Proud of you for getting through the hard stuff and doing what's right for you. Glad to hear you're doing well now! Good luck with the move!
Glad you're feeling "BACK!" and excited for your goals. I'm so glad you're gonna start the podcast again, I really enjoyed it before :)
Good luck with all your life changes, Ariel! Sounds like great things are happening for you!
Stanton Sullivan did you finish don quixote? what did you think?
Oh man! Knitting 101! Knitting is life. Please learn to knit. I'd love to watch that!
Your positive attitude is so contagious, and I can relate a lot to the love for your family. I loved this life update 💕
I'm from Calgary!! and we spend most of our summers in BC, I love it out there!! Especially Kelowna region.
Changes are good. I think you in BC is going to be so much fun! 💚 I can't wait for your new videos from there! Good luck driving the U-Haul
You are so much happier here than past videos and I LOVE that
Ahh I love British Columbia SO MUCH. Coming back this year as well, although only for a visit. Good luck with your move!
I spent so much time admiring your nail polish, such nice colours
Wow Ariel! What a big move :) My sister and I are from NB, and she lives on Vancouver Island, while I'm in Ottawa now. It's far, but much farther for her. At least the weather is worth it! I've heard Kelowna is lovely!! Good luck on your drive!
I love BC. Its beautiful there. I stayed with my grandparents in the Okanagan valley
