  • Walking the Fertility Dance Festival in Obando Bulacan Philippines. Also known as the Feast of Three Saints, the Fertility Dance Festival in Obando Bulacan Philippines is a huge part of parish life in the Philippines. Still, in Obando, a town on Manila Bay, one church’s feast is famous for an unusual element, a fertility dance that serves as a form of prayer for couples who are hoping to conceive a child. From May 17-19 each year, San Pascual Baylon Church holds a three-day feast that draws people from throughout the country for Masses, long dancing processions through the streets, and frenzied devotion inside the church.

Very encouraging to see that the Filipinos still see children as a blessing.

It’s more of a curse now that they can’t control the population. The birth rate is way way way too high there. Millions of children born to poverty and living in the streets.

@@thebibleisanalternativetot181 What a horrible thing to say. And, if anything the Philippines will one of the few nations that will have a future. While the West is dying and China will be joining their rank. Hispanic America is not too far behind their. depopulation

@@nicolasjuandecardenas7921 It won't as the place is stuck between 2 tectonic plates and constant typhoons. Even a moderate 5.5 earthquake centered in MM will destroy countless buildings and settlements.

It dates back precolonial philippines a Hindu (not surel) Origin of The Tagalogs, a dance offering for tagalog deity "Lakapati" goddess of fertility.
It is accompanied of "musikong Bumbong" Traditional Bamboo Music.
The way they dance is called "bayluhan" or "Pandangguhan" a part of Karakol.
The hand gestures are very similar of southeast asian neighbors. Unlikely to spanish which focused on feet.
The dance was famous on the country, the music was also used as a karakol music on every fiesta in the philippines.

Why, why, why? People of Christ. Why do you not understand that this is 100% paganism and NOT in line with any teachings from Jesus Christ.
This is a step backwards as those praying to any saint, mother Mary or a Santa Clara is praying for a source of power other than God. My goodness. People wake up. This is not not not Christian teaching.
I love the Philippines by the way.
