  • Whispers falling silently drift on the wind
    But I hear you
Our journey, now a memory fading from sight
    But I see you
Unbroken, promises we made so long ago
    You're still here
Unspoken, Requiem for a river of tears
Flowing, winding, to one eternal sea
    And yet hope remains
    Guiding, lighting the way
    No time for mourning
Rises on a memory borne from the ashes
    With the heavens
To sunset, blood-red skies tranquil after the storm
    Blessed shadow
Turning, winding, always night follows day
    The sun will shine again
    Walk on, never look back
    Through you, we live
Talеs of loss and fire and faith
    Everywhere our hearts and pain
In the dark, you will not stray
Forge ahead, till the end, we pray

It wasn't foreshadowing for some sort of threat, it wasn't a setup for yet another grand adventure, it was a cosmic passing greeting. A simple "Have a good day". And quite frankly, I cried like a baby because of that.

She got her answer in the end. This was the last bit of closure for me in this story. The kind you didn't ask for or expected. On top of that, Omega has his own answer and doesn't even know it but he indeed understands the concept of heart. He just hasn't figured out he dose yet. C:

Bro, for real, look into the effects that fasting and removing sugar from the diet have on cancer. It’s a field of research rapidly picking up recently but the main stream medical field hasn’t acknowledged it yet so doctors aren’t allowed to prescribe it. There’s so many stories of people beating all types of cancer with it.
Basically, cancer cells augment themselves to have up to 90 times the glucose receptors than normal cells. They need sugar for their enhanced metabolism.
When you fast, your blood sugar levels don’t get the spike they normally do when digestion starts; on top of that, you just aren’t eating any sugar from food either. Your body will then switch into a fat burning state called ketosis where it uses fat as it’s energy source rather than glucose or carbs. That’s why the hunger pains go away after a few hours, because the body switched over to ketosis now that it realized it’s not going to get sugar or carbs.
Cancer cells can’t survive in ketosis like normal cells, their metabolism is too high and needs the easily processed glucose as fuel. The cancer simply starves to death. This is a huge reason why the Middle East has such low cancer rates: Ramadan fasting.
It’s a great practice for both beating current cancer and preventing possible future cases.

I had no clue what I was getting into as a WoW refugee… but I can honestly say with great confidence, after completing the Endwalker MSQ today, that that was the best story I’ve ever been a part of in my near 37 years of playing video games. Yeah, it’s just a fantasy game, but I have had exactly encouraging words and friendly advice I needed from these characters during a time when I needed it the most. That journey was next-level therapeutic, and here at journey’s end, I feel greater at peace. This song was the cherry on top of all of that.

You told the pure truth. From 2015 to 2016, I faced a Leukemia, ICU and bone marrow transplant, months of hospitalization, minimal chances of recovery and, at the time, who helped me a lot to face these difficulties with my head held high and keep hope alive were the hundreds of hours playing (in the hospital room) final fantasy XIII, XIII-2 and XIII lightning returns, which many people criticize as one of the worst games in the franchise, but perhaps, having met him in such a difficult phase of my life, have a special place in my heart.

yeah, ex wow player here as well. my *omg shit* therapeutic moment was when Venat broke the 4 Wall and asked right in my face if my journey was a good one....
i stared blankly at the screen and began to cry. It was not. The game helped me escape from the real world i was in, my family in ruins, falling apart, my grandmom passed away, the only reason, our family still existed. it was in vain, though. i could'nt handle the rest of them. pathetic. family? no, they never were. they'll never be. my job cringing the hell out of me, taking all my free time and throwing cruel stuff at me, saying a death from my family is no reason to not work even harder.
This moment was the reason i took the headhunters call and changed jobs in reallife.
the reason i cut ties with many from this so called "Family" who only were there when there was something they could get out of...
the start of me saying what's on my mind and not remaining silent to everything. beeing dtronger for my own small family and just that.
and my journey came to a much better way.
i hope the way remains like this, i like it.

Alphinaud taught me that. I can't agree more. Twilight Over Thanalan stood for over 10 years as my favorite overall track from FFXIV, not counting battle tracks or remixes of other Final Fantasy songs (Like FFVI's battle to the death for example) and this song dethroned it hard. Don't get me wrong, Twilight Over Thanalan still has more sentiment to me and I guess you could say it's still my favorite in a way, but... god damn... THIS song really is amazing. I love it tons even though it literally makes me cry every time. I've honestly never had a song do that to me before. I mean sure, I've had songs make me cry (both happy and sad tears) but never one that does it 100% of the time.
To put things into perspective, I'm not really one to go out of my way to do the Shared Fates stuff that was added in ShadowBringers, I literally finished those a week before Endwalker came out, but... this song... as soon as I found out you get it using BiColor gems after maxing out Ultima Thule's Share Fates... I grinded my ass off for it. Did over 60 fates that night. Without hesitation. I even did it as my WHM (which was 80 at the time.) I went through EW with my AST.
But ultimately, since I did that for Ultima Thule I ended up leveling other jobs via shared fate (cause why not?) and maxed out every zone pretty early in this expansion. Literally all because of this song.
It's... a bit of a double edged sword though. I love this song a ton, and I desperately wanted it on my Orchestrion Playlist, which it is, but now... its difficult to go into my ingame house for fear of this song playing cause it always makes me cry xD.
EDIT: This is my favorite verse from the song:
Rises on a mem'ry borne from the ashes
      With the heavens
To sunset, blood-red skies tranquil after the storm
      Blessed shadow
      (especially this part below)
      ↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓

Could you imagine if they actually killed them off? The fan base would have probably RIOTED.
I'm probably in the minority here, but I think the conclusion to Endwalker would have been so much more impactful had they not pulled that deus ex machina with dynamis. I feel like it actually cheapened all of the emotional buildup during Ultima Thule. The moment when they all return during the battle with Meteios is cool, but it was still a cheap "power of hope/love" moment that has been done so many times already. I knew something like that was coming given how hard they pushed the idea of dynamis prior to Ultima Thule and how "controversial" it would have been for them to kill everyone off in one go, so it made all that emotional buildup feel kind of meaningless. It was fitting of the characters of course, but I knew it wasn't goodbye.
Had they actually killed off all of the Scions, I think the final leg of Endwalker would have left a serious impression on me. Not just within the game, but within fiction in general. Which is surprising to think about since I didn't actually become invested in the story until about half way in to Stormblood.

      Always, night follows day.
This gets me because I wrote a book about assassins and one the things the main protagonist was told was that one death didn't matter in the grand scheme of things. Time would not stop because of someone's death. The sun would come up, life would go on as if their death was just something that never happened. This brought the person who said this comfort, even if it disgusted the protag. But when I heard this line...I felt deeply connected to that because of that book I wrote.

Months later I still can't listen to this without crying, what a beautiful song. Even besides it's plot relevence the words behind the song itself have so much meaning. Endwalker isn't just a great story, it's a triumph of philosophy and fighting the evil of this world by just keeping moving forward and being the best you can be.
The sun will shine again. Fuck! That line gets me every time.

FFXIV finally lifted me out of a dark time in my life, for years at this point I felt like everything I did was meaningless, all utterly pointless, and that I was failure as a Human.
But now, thanks to FFXIV, I've finally found happiness in life. I've had experiences I hold near and dear to my heart, convinced my friends to try the game and got them almost as obsessed with it as I am. This game showed me that life's worth living again even when all seems lost and you're just biding your time for death to eventually claim you.
To whoever is reading this that may also be in a similar situation as I was, don't give up, there are those out there be it family, friends, or those you haven't even met yet that are rooting for you. Forge ahead my friend, for when we're at our lowest- when we've hit rock bottom, there's only one place to go: up.

Thank you man , ironically I can't say I'm in the same boat but I will say this around 2 weeks ago I realized also I wasted my life for the past 15 years and ironically felt as a failure as a human as well. I didn't get to meet someone special like you though. I will be quitting the game in August 6.2 and try go back to college and move on in life.

I decided to RP walk during the "ghost".
Tried running past everything when it got too emotional.
Finding out I was locked in walking mode got me good. I had been putting off beating the game due to what happens to a pair of twins in IV and hearing this after everything that happened was too much.

I think my favorite part about the forced RP walk is that if you then decide to toggle your RP walk on (or RP walk normally on controller), you walk even slower. Never have I been so emotionally gut punched by a story than when I was forced to walk and listen to the voices of all of those who were depending on me, marinating me in an emotional mess by the time we reach the end.

This song is incredible. When I first heard it start playing, it absolutely pierced right through me. I had remained pretty stoic and distanced throughout the expansion, and I thought that the Scions got death-flag'd in the expansion trailer so I fully expected everyone to die when they were disappearing in Ultima Thule one by one to get to the final location. It tricked me into thinking this was actually the end for them, and slowly it just stripped me of my defenses. I absolutely collapsed into tears while the final walk happened with the revenants, seeing and hearing the people we had helped along this odyssey of a colossal journey.
Soken fabricates masterpieces at every turn throughout Endwalker's OST. His command of emotional throughput using music is bar none some of the most powerful storytelling in modern media.

The final walk somehow DIDN'T break me, if anything - the song gave me the courage to continue fighting (Plus, I didn't realise that the creatures were basically voices from the past - so I didn't give the quotes much thought - this, alongside my memory)
I was also confused at the fact that the WoL resurrected the scions with no problem, thinking it was a "Friendship is magic" trope - but then remembered that despite their material bodies being gone when they fused with Ultima Thule, their souls remained and as such - the possibility of creating material forms wasn't completely out of the question

I was so scared that my WoL was going to die. And then i realized... I was afraid of being alone and this game brought so much joy to my life. It gave me friends and it even gave me my partner, my soulmate. Eleven years I have been apart of this amazing world. I started back with ARR just on the heels of Heavensward about to be released. We live to enjoy and cherish moment while we live, create unforgettable memories with those we care, to overcome what fate set upon us and learn from it.
Whenever you need a strength to press on, remember that you are not alone, we are struggling with you in someway shape or form. We are here with you, as Eorzean, as Warrior of light.
