In devdas she didn't marry him, in Josh she was his sister and in ADHM she was divorced from him, in mohobaatein she had to commit suicide to prove her love.
Atleast Paro was courageous enough to go to his house but why this man think that she will run away with him before his marriage. Devdas shaadi se pehle -chalo bhag chale Devdas shaadi k bad -chalo bhag chale. Atleast she thought about her family but Devdas only knows how to run away from all problems. Paro was brave enough to confront her in laws.Even chandramukhi took all insults from him when she was daring enough to reply to (i forgot the name of that man) everytime just because she is in love.
I read Devdas when I was in school and saw the movie in college, and believe me, I wanted to strangle Bhansali for the crap he'd created from the classic novel. I really hate when history and classics get ruined in the name of Creative Liberty. I went to watch the movie for my birthday with 4 college friends together, and my friends were laughing like crazy, as I kept on grumbling whenever I noticed any discrepancy from the novel. This movie was just like any other Bhansali movie, huge, colorful, pretty sets, and big star cast with heavy costumes and appealing jewellery. Even though I was a hard-core SRK fan, I still believe he was not fit for this role, and neither was Aishwarya, who looked the Fakest Bengali girl I could imagine. Jackie shroff was loud and irritating. The only good were Madhuri and Preeti Khare as the evil Bhabhi. That Paro-Chandramukhi meeting scene just blew out my brain because they never met in the novel. In fact, Paaro was not even mentioned in the book after she got married until the time Devdas went to her doorstep in the end. Her sasuraal was not mentioned much in the book. Later, when I saw the clip of Bajirao Mastani on FB (Yes, I didn't watch any Bhansali movie after Devdas), and saw similar meeting between Mastani and Kashibai, my hatred for Bhansali just enhanced 10k times, as Kashi and Mastani also never met in history. I realized that these controversial meetings, along with a dumb mujra later on, was the core key, on which Bhansali keeps on playing again and again. Maybe he understands that people go to the movie halls to check out Madhuri's ghagra or Deepika's makeup, more than to watch the facts. That's why he makes anything that would catch the public eye. He tries to act classy like Shyam Benegal and Ketan Mehta, but in fact, he's just another Manmohan Desai and Yash Chopra, only focusing on money and profits. 😊
Finally!!!! As a bengali it had pained my eyes since childhood when this film came, cuz all people around me spoke about this film like it's a masterpiece in Bollywood. Thanks for doing this roast! I absolutely hate Bhansali's devdas with a passion. He completely ruined the classic novel. He took a masterpiece and crapped on it and covered the crap in glitter. But glitter coated crap is still crap. Jackie Shroff as Chunni babu is unbearable, and I can't stand SRK's over acting in this film. The OG Bimal Roy's Devdas is more honest adaptation. You can see the depth of characters and story. Anyone who wants to watch a movie on Devdas novel I would strongly advise them to watch Bimal Roy's adaptation. Then you'll see what I'm talking about. SLB killed the soul of the story. He is a soul killer. Yeah, I said it! He is just a glorified Ekta Kapoor who just focuses on the glitz and glamour, the clothes and jewellery, the weight of heroine's ghaghra, and palace like sets. There is no soul in his films.
I don't like this movie nor SRK in general regardless of this movie, nor did I like Chandramukhi overdone nor the annoying and unnecessary Chunnibaabu, nor Dola dance. A true nibba nibbi story written beyond his nibba nibbi years. But still the biggest irony is that he himself calls this story a drunken mistake while being his most successful to this date.
In all these years there have been only a few cases where I have liked Aishwarya's acting.. the naivete of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, the regal poise of Jodha Akbar, the mixture of longing and revenge in Ponniyin Selvan.. Taal is OK, maybe guzaarish also (havent seen).. baaki sab is "Ishhhhhhhh"
I disagree with you highly as Aish is a very good actress especially her Tamil films are mind-blowing. Even Raincoat Choker bali provoked were amazing too. Aish was excluded from many high budget films due to ficaso of Salman but she still was good in her major films which she did.. u might have not watched her proper filmography. Yep some are exceptions like Jazbaa, some rom coms with Abhishek where she isn't the good.. but there is Shah Rukh Khan too who has his fair share of bad performances be it Zero, Overacting in Kal ho na ho & much more.
My mom read Debdas, in Bengali of course, and apparently... cried🤣🤣🤣 I didn’t find anything in the story.... Porinita is my favourite Sarat Chandra novel.... Devdas is the OG animal... That domestic violence scene was actually in the novel, btw😵💫

15:02 ME! Still wiping my tears knowing I’m media literate
I know you were roasting but each scenes were so aesthetically beautiful I forgot half the time what you were saying. 😅😅😅😅
And of course SRK❤❤❤❤❤❤
Subah subah video se maza agya❤ love ya !
A true nibba nibbi story written beyond his nibba nibbi years.
But still the biggest irony is that he himself calls this story a drunken mistake while being his most successful to this date.
8:06 best joke I’ve heard. As a Bengali I laughed so hard!
7:06 Clearly, you didn’t see the drama in the ‘90s Bollywood Bracket lol
Hannah Montana song over the dola re dance is too good😂
Triangle and parallelogram ab ap ki comic language Math hai kea

Making comedy of emotions is like being cool in this generation😊
Yep some are exceptions like Jazbaa, some rom coms with Abhishek where she isn't the good.. but there is Shah Rukh Khan too who has his fair share of bad performances be it Zero, Overacting in Kal ho na ho & much more.
also see guzaarish its a decent watch!
10:36 Kitna Object karega bhai😅
Haha
11:11 I’ve improved slightly but the Mr. Fixit side of my personality enters the chat sometimes.
Clip editing skills and use of them is amazing😂
My mom read Debdas, in Bengali of course, and apparently... cried🤣🤣🤣 I didn’t find anything in the story.... Porinita is my favourite Sarat Chandra novel.... Devdas is the OG animal... That domestic violence scene was actually in the novel, btw😵💫
Make a roast on Mission Mangal that movie deserves it
I don't know but I will try!
Paro and Chandru has the best enemies to lover trope ever❤❤❤
I saw it when i was in school, and things i remembered are SRK throwing cards on face of aishwarya, SRK and jackie dancing with bottle, and that Diya (amar jyoti).
And today this movie is really hard to watch.
100528 romentic movies of bollywood, made it absolutely cringe for our generation while we revisit it, coz "bachpan me movie smjh or maturity se bahar thi"
