    Steak Pie, try Angus Beef and pepper pie! Herbert Adams or Four & Twenty! My mum and grandmother made sure we had a real Christmas, Turkey, chicken, ham, (prawns), homemade puddings and cake, mince pies, a pine tree and all the trimmings - there is usually also Christmas celebrations in the Blue Mountains in July! Sorry to hear about the rude drivers, that's strange, they must be new here! Australians generally have good manners and helpful attitudes! You need to create some me time, being a mother is your first job, not your whole life! It is early yet, find a routine that works for you now and for later! Music and a book is always a good time out! St John's Wort is great for any anxiety too! I haven't been to the museum for years, what a great kids experience! He's so cute calling Isla (my mum's name)! Lovely day out, thanks for sharing! Take care of yourself! 🌺

    Have lived in South Australia for 53 years, and have only ever seen 3 snakes in the wild. One in our garden, one in the bush, and one in a caravan park we were staying in. So snakes really aren’t a problem if living in the suburbs.

    I really enjoyed that vlog Kimberley can we have more like that please! There’s a Scottish butcher in North Ryde called David’s Larder if you haven’t already found it it could be worth a try. They do steak pie. I haven’t tried it myself as I’m back in Blighty at the moment.

    With the thankyou and courtesy on the roads id say it could be more so in your area. Castle Hill tends to attract more the chinese maybe thats why. Im in Penrith and yes theres a lot of arrogant drivers but theres a few still that will let you in or ones says thanksif you let them in. But saying all this yeah in general Sydney or most cities around Australia the manners and driving isn't what it should be.

    • @michaelmcclown5593

      Castle Hill tends to attract more the chinese maybe thats why. Yeah but that still leaves the other 90% or maybe it's just the way it is with ALL people these days, and have a lovely day.

    • @kimberleylucas
      @kimberleylucas  ปีที่แล้ว

      Its something that shocked me for sure, and like I've said it's not the odd few it's majority of people that I let past or let them out. Back in Scotland the horn would be blasted and a few swear words for sure 😅 it's a shame as manners really do cost nothing.

    Aussies used to be such polite drivers but Ive noticed with the influx of immigrants over the years the courtesy level has dropped dramatically.

    That's funny cause I didn’t like the chocolate anywhere in the UK. There's a Cadbury factory in Tassie you may want to take the kids to one day. Btw Sydney people are rude, a bit like London.

    I really liked the style of this vid with you out and about answering the questions .You mask your actual accent very well i can pick its scots but not the area From what i have heard of Ewan speaking he sounds like Aberdonian .Yeah Snakes shouldnt bother you .Spiders in Sydney you need to research the funnelweb get yourself up to speed on those they are what you need to be aware of . If you come across a spider the size of your hand its probably a Huntsman and though they look scary they are harmless . I saw someone mentioned drop bears look up Australian Geographic i think they did a story on them .

    Snakes you wont come across in the colder months but come into spring when it warms up they will start to come out. But really snakes you'll be lucky to come across one. They are more scared and dont want to be near us. Ever walk around where there bushland just walk heavy footed and make your self known as they will sence your approach and get away.

    • @kimberleylucas
      @kimberleylucas  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for this helpful information. I'm really not that concerned on snakes if I'm honest, and I certainly won't be poking around if I do find one haha but spiders concern me more as I'm really not that great with them! The time will definitely come I'm sure 😅

      @Danger_Mouse3619 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kimberleylucas spiders are even more scared of us than snakes. Well sort of 😂 you leave them alone that leave us alone. It's the big Huntsman that scares most but they are harmless and good to have around to catch the bugs. Nature's own insect repellant 😜

    Do you plan to purchase a property anytime soon? How long do you have your rental for ?

    • @kimberleylucas
      @kimberleylucas  ปีที่แล้ว

      We have signed for 1 year on our current rental. We would love to buy but unfortunately sydney is looking very expensive. In addition to this because we are not permanent residents, the mortgage rates are much higher so it's definitely worth waiting a few years until we are sure exactly where we will settle.

    • @PepsiMaxKola
      @PepsiMaxKola ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kimberleylucas Yes Sydney looks so expensive at the moment. We are trying to work out how long to rent for on arrival and then how best to buy. Feels like the most stressful part of moving, especially with the rental market!

    • @kimberleylucas
      @kimberleylucas  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PepsiMaxKola most rentals are for 12 months, some of them are 6 months but majority we looked at were 12 months, however you can leave within this period but you would need to pay a fee depending how far into your lease you are :) its absolutely the most stressful part! haha sending you strength!
