There were five original movies. The first movie with Charlton Heston was The Planet of the Apes. in 1968. 2. Beneath the Planet of the Apes. 3. Escape from the Planet of the Apes. This one Cornelius and Zira used Taylor's spaceship The Liberty1 (Icarus) and went back to the past to Taylor's time. And here's where it started. Zira had a child. That child was Caesar. Now that the past human world was introduced to talking apes, they decided to create more of intelligent apes for pets, because all cats and dogs died off from a virus. But they turned them into slaves. 4. Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. Caesar now grown started the rebellion that would ultimately destroy the human race. And the last movie: Battle for the Planet of the Apes. Caesar would win the battle for the planet. The new movies are a retelling of the older ones. Not involving Cornelius and Zira. But, instead a scientist creating Caesar himself. The rest of the newer movies retell the originals starting from Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. So instead of these starting from Taylor's perspective. They are leading up to when the crew of the Icarus are thrown back 2000 years to crash back on earth.
This is 300 yrs later. I believe this might be taking place maybe 100 yrs before the crash landing of the Liberty1 (Icarus) spacecraft. In the original story, A total of five Liberty ships were built and sent to the stars. A crew of four in the Icarus were sent to a distant star travelling at near lightspeed. The crew entered hibernation for twelve months for a total of an eighteen month trip. But three months into hibernation, The Icarus collided with another Liberty ship and automatically changed course back to Earth, but were propelled 2000 yrs into the future. The fourth crew member was MaryAnn Stewart. Originally, her pod malfunctioned soon after entering hibernation. The young woman we see in this trailer is wearing a torn t-shirt and tactical pants. Not animal hides. She could be the forth crew member somehow sent back in an escape pod after the collision, or the only remaining survivor of the crew of other Liberty ship, but arrives way sooner than the Icarus.
In the original Planet of the Apes, the world was post-apocalyptic, not just because of the outbreak and the rise of the Apes. In the end (sorry for the spoiler) Charlton Heston screams "You blew it up! You maniacs!" referring to what the humans had done to the world. it might have been a cautionary tale about the dangers of nuclear war.
This looks so good, and I can't wait to watch it in theaters. I think the main character Noa is a direct decendant of Ceasar, like a 6-times great grandson. The last film had me in angry tears, so I'm ready to cry again. 🐵
hi, thanks for reacting to the kingdom of the planet of the apes trailer. I adore the reboot trilogy Rise, Dawn and War i think they are the best movies in the history of film in my opinion. Andy Serkis as Caesar was outstanding . I still rewatch them i love Ceasar. The reboot trilogy is criminally underrated and unappreciated in my opinion. I have to say i was a little skeptical about kingdom when i heard it was being made without Andy Serkis but this trailer turned my thoughts around. It carries the essence of the rise, dawn and war reboot so i’ll definitely be going to see it. It’s set 300 years after war and is closer to the original 1968 movie. I already have a fave chimp it’s Noa the chimp with the eagle and the one who says hunting humans is wrong. I think it might have something to do with how much he reminds me of Caesar. Perhaps he’s a descendant of Caesars baby son Cornelius i don’t know all i can say is i’m looking forward to seeing it. Take care, stay safe 😘🏴 #ApesTogetherStrong❤️
Amazing reactions! Can’t wait to see this! Looks like it’s going to be a fantastic film! Keep doing what you are doing! Amazing videos! Please could you react to the Wicked Movie trailer next? Would love to see your reactions to that one! Exciting times! 💚🙏xx
I heard the comment, "I didn't understand the Heston movie". Do yourselves a favor and watch the original Apes series starting with 1968's original Planet of the Apes". This brilliant film adaptation screenplay by Michael Wilson and Rod Serling, loosely based on the 1963 novel by Pierre Boulle tells the story of 3 astronauts who crash land on a strange planet only to discover it to be ruled by Apes. Watching this film, you will see and understand EVERYTHING that is going on in this recent film series. You can thank me later 😊
Sounds like a solid plan!! We should have plenty of time to venture into the origins of the film adaptation of the book. Thanks for the recommendation.
this has nothing to do with the old movies lol this movie is continuation to the 2011 - 2017 planet of the apes movies. the ones you're talking about is way way ahead
@@Whotfasked69 These new films take all their leads and plot points from the original Apes films. Go back and rewatch them. The tropes are all there. It's been written about infinitum.
@@SalGomez I know but in order for them to understand Kingdom they would have to watch the 2011/2014/2017 trilogy. The 1968 was the original yes but its WAY ahead, its when the apes ALREADY took the planet so it wouldn’t make sense
@Whotfasked69 I think your missing the point. Dad said he didn't understand the original Heston movie. What I suggested is that the family rewatch that original '68 movie which will help them in identifying call backs in these new films, just like Matt Reeves had done with "Rise" in paying homage to the original franchise. It has nothing to do with timeliness or where the story picks up.
You guys watched the recent trilogy, that was really good, but did you guys see the one with Mark Walburg in the early 2000's?? Check it out if you haven't, it's really good for the early 2000's. 😁

I think you're spot on in this theory
Fun Fact : Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is taken place 300 years after War for Planet of the Apes :)

Planet of the apes was what humans did to each other to make the world into what it became and what was wrong with it
Where is Andy Serkis? Even if Caeser is dead, does not mean Andy can't be a different Ape. This takes place 300 Years after Caeser's death.
The girl in blue seems like she can handle 🔥🔥
