Christians are followers of Christ not Elijah or another person... Also John the Baptist have not died when Jesus made the statement..... The people of Samaritan did not allow Jesus to pass through their town ..the disciples James and John saw it and said to him Lord do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did? But Jesus turned and rebuked them and said , You do not know what manner of spirit you are of. For the Son of man did not come to destroy men's lives but to save them....(Luke 9:54-56) Why didn't you mention one place in the bible where Jesus praying land killing people...God said This is My beloved son listen to him ....God did not said follow Elijah or any other person . Jesus on the cross made a prayer for those who crucified Him before he died ... Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing... Jesus said love your enemy and pray for them (Matt 5:43) You pray in his name and you make prayers opposite of His teaching and practice....
