We went only a few days ago and it was so busy that the online queues were all maxed out. We missed out on all the extra installations. I also didn't really like having to read about the art works on my phone but I guess thats part of the experience?
Still recommend for those who haven't been before.

Oh damn sorry you had a bad experience at MONA. Yeah you gotta be early booking into the installations, which sucks if you arrive later. It's a different type of museum, some will love using phones and some will hate it.

Mona was a massive disappointment for me, ferry was the best part about it.

Crowded, apps didn't work (and you had to pay extra for them), poor navigation around different spaces (people were lost basically, perhaps that was the point), some inappropriate art for younger visitors, food options were terrible.... it's an experience to go visit it for sure but it could be greatly improved inside.@@larrylim

Valid points, it's definitely not for everyone! I heard the app didn't work for some people as well, such is a bummer as it's the source for navigation!
