No, the old belts didn't have enough grip and and the motor spun much faster than the drum was. I'm not a fan of doing that method because it puts a lot of strain onto the motor, this toy is so damn rare I can't risk it with this one
It had a problem a while ago, and when I soldered the wire from the battery box that does the wash I connected it to one which makes it go slower than it original was designed to. I'll try to solder it again back to where it should be

Belt replacement makes them spin faster
Changed the belts with wider and tighter ones
