I used this video to create an app for the Android App Store called "Phonetic Frog". It replaces the RITA phonemes with animations to make it look like an animated character is speaking in a phonetically accurate way. You da man, Dan.
Thank you for your tutorials.Could you give me the site of RiTa because I want to calculate the semantic distance with Rita but I can not found the method Rita.Distance in the Sit wich Ihave
I'm using this library for a fairly important project and was very surprised to find it did not contain the word "data". I can't imagine what other great words are missing. Do you know of any way to expand their dictionary?
You can join items in array without using for cycle. You can just use array.join(separator). Ex: ['cat', 'dog', 'mouse'].join('_') will output 'cat_dog_mouse'
I did this method, and copied your script for sketch.js and, the textbox does not appear when I open via index.html ..... and the script does not function even if i put it directly into body of index.html. Also, interested in how you have it so you can instantaneously edit the code and see the page. Thank you so much!
Hi! I wanna thank you for those tutorials, they are very helpful. I got a minor issue when calling the randomWord('nns') it outputs an empty string, but it works with 'nn' as an argument. Can you help?
@TheCodingTrain: Hi Schiffman, a great admirer of your work here! I am currently working on a twitter-bot aiming to transform/spin negative API sentences into "positive" spinned news. I am trying to use RiTa's "replaceAll()" function, but I can only make it replace all words of one kind (i.e. "torture" into "comfort"), but whenever I attempt to use this function more than once it doesn't work - do you have any idea for a solution (so for example i can replace allr "torture" strings as well as all "ill-treatment" strings into another word)? Best regards, from Teh Lurd.
Anyone finding a problem using the lexicon to get random words for pos "nns" in RiTa 1.1.51? (December 2016) somLex.randomWord("nns") is always returning ""for me (empty string). Seems to work fine using RiTa 1.1.1. Second thought: a short tutorial on how to search open github issues might be handy! Along with a "how to roll back to a previous version of a library on github". :) Many thanks for the awesome work!
+Daniel Shiffman This tutorial series has actually changed my life. Thank you.

Wonderful series as always!
You can call RiTa.untokenize(words); to create a sentence from an array of words and punctuation marks.
Great video as always Dan, love you lots
I love watch your tutorial and never got bored of it.

createInput, createButton, createP, etc. don't work for me. Are they supposed to be in the p5.js library?
This library is too cool.

How would Rita handle different languages? would only need a custom Lexicon?

Having this problem also, not sure if it's an issue with this line of code: if (/nn.*/.test(pos[i])) {
output += lexicon.randomWord(pos[i]);
really enjoyed this!
Thank U very much for this tutorial... 🙂

It seems as if you knew how to program anything. I would like you to make a video of how you arrive at a certain solution to a problem.
