    I love my 100-400 gm too. To sum up: IQ + build + Oss are close to perfect for my needs. The rest of my lens are prime and this bad boy's IQ is better than some of them.

    Of all the review/recommendation videos I've been binge watching on the 100-400mm (compared to the 70-200 as well) in order to both build anticipation of the lens on the way here and second guess myself, this video has been the best with helping me understand what I am getting with the 100-400mm and why I should have chosen the 70-200mm instead LOL. I generally like wide angle shots with most photography genres I do, some standard zoom especially with macro, and have never had much experience with the telephoto range but was interested in exploring that and made a semi-educated guess to go for more reach so as to not have any real limits to what I could do with telephoto. Even 50mm is too cramped for me in most use-case scenarios, but when I need more reach for, say, pet or family photography or good macros, 70mm with my cheapo kit lens generally isn't enough without heavy cropping.
    I liked the no limits motivation because, upgrading from an old Nikon D800E to the Sony a7rIVa the Sony has thus far exceeded my capabilities of testing its limits unlike running into limits of capabilities with the D800E all the time. This lens, like the 35-150mm Tamron that I have been wanting but has been staying out of stock and back-ordered for who knows how long, is a "super-lens" that seems to be head-and-shoulders above the competition and its time. The 100-400mm would fit perfectly with my future hope of getting the Tamron without being too overlapping with the 70-200mm. In short, as it has been called, the 100-400mm is a very exciting and probably fun lens that will last me at least another generation of sony cameras when/if I upgrade from the sony a7riva... That is, if I don't end up being disappointed with having no use case scenarios for it :p.
    And you have been my favorite youtube personality out of all of them! Very wise, very kind, very zen, very charming, very perfect knowledge.

    Hi Kensei
    I have a Sony A7C with the same 24.2MP as your A7III, and I intent to buy this 100-400mm.
    Comparing with bigger MP (for example 42MP), you notice a big improve in the quality of the photos taken? If you take a photo of the moon, when we crop the image 24.2MP are wrost than the 42MP?
    Can I have the same results using 24.2MP comparing with 42MP?
    Thanks in advance.

    • @KenseiAkatsu
      @KenseiAkatsu  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely you can get a resolution advantage on 42MP which will help a lot in especially that kind of moon photography situation.
