Watch Judge Mogen scare this lady to death during sentencing: th-cam.com/video/ILyrgcZR2iA/w-d-xo.html
Allegedly:
Forged client's signature on a contract, then pocketed $25,000.
Advised client to skip sentencing; client then received harsher sentence.
WOW! That’s dirty af!
@@Trialworldlive It's not only dirty but also criminal.
@@TrialworldliveAnd the primary reason he got disbarred is likely the money thing, not the harsher sentence
Most bar boards will let any violations slide with wrist slaps _except_ ones that threaten their own potential to make money.
@@gaiustacitus4242 And potentially grounds for an IAC appeal
Took 25k to not even show up to fight a measely $1,000....No wonder he's disbarred
I don't care what anyone says that DA is related to/ works for Satan. That laugh was the most Villain laugh I've ever heard 😂
She is such an AWESOME Judge. The people in her district are very lucky
She is an amazing person!
That DA can't sit straight, looks like a stoned teen in math class...
lol he is a bit off the way he laughs for sure
well, this IS wisconsin traffic court so not like it's a capital case or anything lol. I think he's taking the casual nature a little too far still.
That's how easy his job is.
THAT'S THE DA????
When the opposing attorney is probably disbarred already, can't look any less professional.😂
Dude chillin like a villain
Like a villain. That describes his laugh when he mentioned that the disbarred attny didn't do something w discovery.
"You, the client, reminded the attorney. " Should be on a T-shirt
Judge Mogen is quite a nice judge. Firm and fair
Prosecutor should be embarrassed by his unprofessional behavior.
100%. Good deal offered though considering it was an alleged hit and run
Wow!! Good that this video was posted so everyone who watches can stay far away from that so-called attorney.
Judge Mogen isa great judge . To accomplish so much in your 30/40's is very admirable.
She is great!
Yeah, 47 is pretty young for a judge with her experience(8 years in April)
It's a shame the judge can't issue an order for the repayment on the spot.
because it becomes a civil matter but you or i fail to appear we get a warrant for our arrest the attorney should have the same happen
@@jays106 Pretty sure attorneys could have a warrant issued for failure to appear. I'm sure that's an exceedingly rare thing because attorneys failing to appear is an extremely rare thing. It didn't make any sense in this case as she was firing the guy and he was about to be disbarred anyhow.
Lol...
Just putting his personal phone number out there for everyone
I love this judge! LOL
@@brotherbruns2989 me too!
He's still showing as being in good standing in Wisconsin. He was disbarred in August 2024 in Minnesota. It seems he's continuing the pattern of misconduct that him disbarred in Minnesota, so he'll probably be disbarred in Wisconsin before long...
@@thomasdalton1508 once you are disbarred in one it’s just a matter of time for the rest to follow.
Judge is funny regarding her reaction to disbarred lawyer!! Snip, snip, cut, cut, gone, gone😂😂
Its the perfect way to explain disbarment to anyone unfamiliar with the legal system😅
I love this whimsical judge.
Some bs like that should go heavily in your favor..
that DA is super unprofessional
I know. The lounging in the chair is the first thing that I noticed, then I thought that he was the client and he was waiting on the disbarred attorney. He's way too laid back. 🤣
My guess...If the judge was calling to find the defense attorney, then they have probably been sitting in the courtroom for 15 mins to an hour just waiting. Had the defense attorney done his job, this portion of the case would have taken maybe 5 minutes. The judge, the DA, and the accused/client are ready to get it done and over with and are all tired of just staring at each other.
@@savestatefailAgreed. It also seems like he was laughing in a "man am I glad that I'm not that attorney" kind of way.
For all the commentsvabout the DA: at least he showed up.
I guess if she hired another attorney and even IF that attorney could (best case) have got her completely out of it by whatever magic or reason - considering the atorneys fees, it would still not have been cheaper.
To just take the ticket was probably the best option.
@@j.4941 yep that’s why the judge is amazing..she knew that and guided her as much as possible that way
@IdratherNot8337 no contest is basically the same thing as pleading guilty.
Would like a follow-up on the disbarred attorney.
We won’t see it in court but it only takes 30 seconds to google him every so often to follow along.
Prosecutor comes across very unprofessional.
That’s the most disrespectful ADA the manner where he slovenly sat/leaned on the table to him laughing about the situation. None of it is funny taking a client’s money like that I’m sure she was scared and in shock while those in court joked about it.
considering one of the last DA we had Dan Steffen, got a DUI in a government vehicle and also got arrested and went to prison for having sex and recording it with women he was prosecuting, we don't mind Kevin so much. He actually has been really helpful to our county, the other previous one Rennicke - just lets everyone go.
I'd say, when you're opponent can't even show up and you win by default like this, there's really no point in keeping the show going. He won, and cut the defendant one hell of a deal, no jail time on a hit and run, little bit of probation, and the bond/court costs went towards the ticket. He could've hit her with the book, and she'd have no recourse. His attitude concerning opposing counsel aside, I would kill to have a DA cut me a deal on something he's got me on all counts as guilty.
^^ Exactly. Folks hung up on the DA being relaxed and bantering with the judge before the session is officially started. What matters is he cut her an amazing deal for a hit&run seeing as she got dealt a really sh*tty hand.
Incredible.
Aledgedly, the attorney is sitting on the couch, like Al Bundy, feet up on the coffee table, a pabst blue ribbon beer in hand, scratching his 🏀🏀, watching the Zoom under a fictitious name.
LOL. Is there still a pabst blue ribbon beer?
@@SallySallySallySally I've seen it at Walmart for $5.98 a six-pack. I picked a cheap beer since he may or may not be unemployed at this moment.🤣
When I lived in NJ I saw that having an attorney for anything less than DUI was a waste of money. The prosecutor gave the same deal for the same offences whether you had an attorney or not. I never saw one get an aquittal, or even fight for one.
I don't understand you only had one prosecuting attorney that handles all misdemeanors? That would have to be a small county in a rural area. But if they got more than enough evidence to convict you. And there's absolutely no way out of challenging the probable cause. You're probably right it probably is a waste of money. But for some people it's worth paying a good attorney to come down and decide whether or not they made any mistakes with their probably cause two get a hold of the evidence the state has against you. So even if you end up taking the same deal that the guy who represented himself got. Having a good attorney gives you at least a chance to maybe get it thrown out challenging the probable cause. And if the state case is circumstantial and witness based. If your attorney has a reputation of being willing to go to trial. When he offers that same deal he offers everyone. That prosecutor is gonna know that you have an attorney stand in there who's gonna know whether or not he has a strong case or not and if he doesn't have a strong case attorney even though he's bound to tell you the offer he's gonna say well OK we thought about it but here's a counter offer. And that prosecutor is usually gonna take that counter offer so everybody's different. For some people five grand to get 30 days instead of 90 days is a good deal for them. Other people wouldn't pay $500 I'd rather do the extra time
Yea that's just not true, if a cop is involved always get a lawyer just that simple
For anything less than a dui... so you mean for traffic tickets? Yeah no sh-t people shouldn't need a lawyer for those, just pay the fine.
@@aaronhoy3410 Yes, moving violations that have points attached. The prosecutor routinely makes an offer to plead down to a non-point violation, but has a larger fine. He makes the same offer whether you have a lawyer or not. After all, the town wants more money. Traffic court is a big cash cow for the town.
@ I've had varying speeding tickets all in small towns in PA or NJ, every time I've use an app to fight the ticket and get it moved to nothing more than a sub $100 fine. To say you can do that yourself every time is a bit of a overstatement. My time is worth money and not having to go to court at all and letting the lawyer fight it out for a few hundred bucks is worth it.
Sounds like this lawyer is now scamming people . Though pleading guilty/no contest sks i think she made a wise move if she did what was claimed .
I think that all worked out for the best for her lol.. And she will probably get her layer payment back too
Pretty and smart. I bet she's a lot of fun.
I have that same feeling! If she is married he is a lucky man!
She is one of favorite judges to watch. Very easy on the eyes as well.😎
What she in court for🤔🤔
Her reaction was genuine and also hilarious, after Googling the attorney 😂😂
ba baba ba baaa
Me in her court: Your honor, it's actually bah babaaa ba ba I think I love you, so what are you so afraid of, a love that I'm not sure of, a love there is no cure for. (the partridge family) hahah
When I hear references to the Partridge Family, I can’t help but think of the Mad magazine parody of the show, “The Putrid Family.” One of the things they poked fun at was the perceived vanity of David Cassidy (AKA Teeth Putrid) in the song, “I Think I Love Me.” 🎶😁
@@JBM425 oh man, now you made me want to search for that! sounds hilarious!
Mad Magazine rocked! I loved spy vs spy and the fold outs!
Do you remember "husky and starch"? (parody of Starsky and Hutch) hahah....
The cut is at @4:50
Well, she certainly wasn’t afforded an attorney prior to the judge imposing sentence.

all this over a simple fine , poor lady at least mr chill da was good enough to reduce it to a ticket for all the trouble

The states attorney is so disrespectful the way he is sitting and dressed
It ain't church calm down.
@@GeorgeWashingtonLaserMusket That was the very first thing I thought when I started to watch this video. The way he was slouched on a chair swinging it around like he was in a bar or something, totally showed disrespect to the Judge and the Court.
@MelvynThurlbyobviously he sat like that and the didn't judge speak up about it, so it's not a problem.
The Bar Association should have to carry Insurance on it's Members through higher fees or whatever it takes, to make immediate & full payments to it's Members Clients that get stiffed.
It creates an aura of entitlement, and shows no empathy for the Swindled Victim, their Client.
Whats with the sarcastic tone? That is unprofessional.
The lawyer was unprofessional here... it's not like the defendant was harmed by any of the acidity in the judge's mood...
She is an awesome judge. However, I find her halting style of speaking to be a bit unnerving. But that's just me, I have misophonia and I am bothered by little noise details.
Thanks for letting us know..hope it helps your day
@@Trialworldlive😂
It feels wrong that the judge would, in one fell swoop, allow the defendant to give up their attorney and plead to the charges without representation. I would have expected the Court to use a lot more caution when dealing with an unrepresented party in general, but especially one who had an attorney on record just moments before the pleading. On part of the DA: they essentially put forward that offer before the attorney of record was removed -- although the defendant later removed her attorney anyhow, bringing an offer directly to a defendant represented by counsel is a big no-no. Even after the defendant had their attorney of record removed, it's still unethical, in my view for the DA to immediately bring that offer without allowing the defendant to think about getting new representation.
In my opinion, the judge should have simply adjourned and rescheduled the hearing.
Judge is a cutie!!
What's wrong with her?
Nothing..probably an INCEL
@Trialworldlive haha
Interesting, since when are judges allowed to give legal advice? That attorney isn’t allowed to represent her or show up if disbarred
They are disbarred in another state. She didn’t really give legal advice to me. She gave her the options available since her lawyer didn’t appearance in court.
… what are you talking about
Think you may want to look up what legal advice is..wow

You don't need to dial a 1 lady.
You can if you want…
Ya, it doesn't matter anymore. The number she dialed wasn't the same as the defendant gave. Lady.
Depends upon if you are using a landline or not. Some businesses still have landlines. Some humans still have a landline.
This judge is not very professional. She is not in control of the court. It’s basically the entire job, keeping the court orderly. She is a joke
