    HISTORY OF KADRI MANJUNATH TEMPLE:
After destroying the Kshatriya clan 21 times, Lord Parashurama had grown weary of bloodshed and became a sanyasi. He made in-depth remorse of the past conduct and did meditation of Lord Shiva on Sahyadri mountain region looking for new land for him to take refugee. Lord Shiva moved by his prayers, appeared before him and said that he will incarnate in the form of Lord Manjunatha for the benefit of mankind and asked him to meditate upon him at Kadalivana (which is now Kadri).
When Parashurama came to Kadalivana, it was occupied by the ocean. So, Parashurama went to the Ocean King and asked him to take back the ocean from that part of the land. Parashurama threw his axe in the ocean and requested the ocean to go back till the place where the axe has fallen. This was how the Tulunadu was formed and so, it is called The Parashurama Shrishti or Parashurama Kshetra.
Lord Parashurama meditated thinking of Lord Brahma Vishnu and Shiva. Yielding to the lord parashuramaas prayers, the trimurti appeared to him in the form of a syambhu linga. After seeking the blessings of lord manjunatha, lord parashurama moved on from kadri for dharma prachara.
Hundreds of years later, the natha panthas from Gorakhpur came towards south for the purpose of dharma prachara. They needed a Kendra bindu for dharma prachara and they were mesmerized seeing Kadri and decided to stay here.
At that time, guru Mathsyendranatha, decided to establish one ‘Shiva linga’ in Suvarna Kadali Vana. So he instructed his disciple Gorakshanatha to go to Kashi and bring a ‘Aatma Linga’. After Gorakshanatha went to kasha, Mathsyendranatha realized that there is already a svayambhu linga in Kadri which was worshipped by lord parashurama. He then started doing dharma prachaara by worshipping lord majunatha. After several years, Gorakshanatha brought a Shiva Linga from Kashi. Since there is already a svayambhu linga in kadri, Guru matsyendrantha asked Gorkashanatha to place the shiva linga inside the 7th pond of kadri temple.
After several years, Sri Vadirajaswami from Udupi went to Dharmasthala for dharma prachara. He was in need of a temple to perform poojas before visiting the King’s place. However, there is only a dharma devatha in Dharmasthala but no temple. Sri Vadirajaswami realizes that there is no purpose in staying at a place where there is no temple and decides to leave the place. The King’s family becomes very upset after knowing this. Annappa Daiva comes in the form of a servant to the King and convinces Sri Vadirajaswami to extend his stay for one more day so that he can build a shiva temple there.
Annappa Daiva with his divya dhristi finds out that there is a shiva linga in kadali vanam that is worshipped by natha pantha and lord parashurama. When he goes to Kadri to take the Shiva linga, he gets into a fight with Malaraya Daiva who is the protector of Kadri Manjunatha Temple. Seeing this, Lord Manjunatha appears and instructs Annappa Daiva to take the shiva linga that was installed in the 7th pond in the temple that was brought from Kashi. Annappa Daiva takes this Shivalinga to Dharmasthala and Sri Vadirajaswami installs it there. The Dharmasthala Manjunatha Temple was built around this Shiva Linga.
After the shiva linga is installed in Dharmasthala, Annappa Daiva desires to go back to Kadri and get some space in the kadri manjunatha temple. When he comes back, another fight ensues between him and Malaraya daiva. Lord Manjunatha again appears and tells Annappa Daiva that the entire temple belongs to Malaraya daiva. But since Annappa Daiva desires to stay here, Lord manjunatha fulfills his wish by letting Annappa Daiva stay above the nade at the entrance of the temple.
General Darshan is allowed in this temple from morning 6am to afternoon 1pm. And from evening 4pm to night 8pm. There are 3 daily poojas conducted here at 8am, 12noon and 8pm.

It is a Buddhist Vihara of Manjushri Bodhisatva. The Linga is actually a "Stupa" of Manjushri.
Even Panchaloha Idols of Awalokiteshwara, Manjushri, and Gautama Buddha exists even today there. Brahmins have mischivoiusly changed the names of these three idols as Trilokeshwara, Vishnu, and Vedavyasa.
2250 years old Ashoka Pillar (around 8 feet tall) exists even today on the left side of Garbha griha in front of Manjushri/Vishnu idol.
Unfortunately, 95% of Mangaluru people do not know this historical fact.
    Namo Buddhaya!!😊

It was a temple earlier. It became vihara during jain rulers. Then became Buddhist vihara during Buddhist rulers. Please see the vijaya stambha near vijaya college mulki. But Manju Pergade itihaas of Dharmasthal reveals something else.

TuluNadu is Dravidian land..and one more thing Kadri temple is before Buddist kadarika Vihara...Before Natha pantha came from north India its Buddha vihara..if you doubt go to kadri temple there is budhha statue available.. Brahmins hide that statue behind..go and check...there is buddist meditation cave also..i think u saw only Pandava guha... because buddist meditation cave hide behind bush.. Brahmins never tell you true history...after Natha pantha came to kadarika Vihara ( Kadri), they destroyed buddism in TuluNadu and established Natha pantha and established Shiva in Kadri..this is true history... please dnt spread fake history..Go study true history of TuluNadu..Thank you 🙏🙏🙏

Temple is a place of worship, a place to pilgrimage, not a place for tourists, not a place to picnic.
Please don't spoil the Dharmik essence of Tulunadu Kshethrams by marketing them as places of tourism and sightseeing.

    • @Myoksha
      @Myoksha  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Dear Shetty, Pilgrimage requires people to travel to the temple. How do you worship if you cannot go to the temple? The more devotees come to the temple, the better it is for everyone. The local economy develops. We are not marketing anything. We are a medium to explain the significance of these temples.
