I just did mines thank ya!!! Female 27 years old took me 5 mins each bulb!shop was trying charge me 70 bucks because they gotta take the bumper off!thank you!
I used to help my dad and grandfather with "shade tree mechanic" stuff all the time when I was little, but now the engine compartment is so compacted and intertwined, unnecessarily difficult to do even the simplest of repairs. Thanks for the helpful video
Thanks a bunch! Your video made it easier. It went step by step. I would never have thought to remove the washer solvent Filler tube. Thanks again! Rick Lipsey
Seriously, a couple hundred? Please tell me that was a joke and that you haven't actually paid somebody a couple hundred dollars for a headlight change, right? But if you are, or have, make sure they top off your blinker fluid, too. #blessurheart
Hello Dave, have you replaced the front (7443) bulb? I tried a few LED bulbs and most fit lose. Any ideas for a Chevy Malibu 2015 ECO? Also, thanks for the fog light video. I installed my setup in 25-30 mins + 6000k HID Kit. The firewall delayed most of the time. Thanks for the vid. John.
Skerr I installed a HID KIT on my car. I haven't had any problems with the kit. I'll add the kit below, I also got HID Kit Canceller Plugs Capacitors for Stability. Kensun HID Xenon Conversion Kit "All Bulb Sizes and Colors" with Premium Ballasts - H11 Metal Base - 6000k - Amazon $45-50 HID Kit Canceller Plugs Capacitors for Stability of HID Conversion Kits (Pack of 2) - Amazon 9.88 + Free Shipping.
I have the previous Malibu model, 2010. Yes you have to remove the whole front bumper to change the lights. So if one light goes, just change them all.
Even with latex gloves on, the best rule to follow is 'never touch any part of the bulb that lights', it knows no difference between dirt/grease from your fingers or from latex covered fingers!
Hey nice video but I have a 13 malibu ltz and my headlights don't have have them covers in the back I have been looking for a video since June 2021. If you could give me some advice would be greatly appreciated
I've used the Sylvania ZXE bulbs in my last 4 cars. They are EXCELLENT for those ore concerned with function. They produce an excellent light with superb range AND angle. They have a wide angle of light distribution and do not cause glare for you nor oncoming drivers. The bulbs do have that blue tint to them, HOWEVER, they do not produce a blue light. If you want something that casts a blue light, these are not for you. The blue lights are not nearly as effective anyway. But, now I'm about to switch out both my ZXE high/low beams for LED bulbs just to try something new.
What kind of bulb is this one? If i want to go HID, wich model should i be looking for? Thsnkd in advance everyone.. and good video, but maybe next time, you could film outside on a sunny day. Thanks again
Is that Silverstar zxe bulb? if so did you notice on the stock bulb and zxe have much of a color difference? I don't like that yellowish stock bulb look?
I don't believe you CAN change it. The entire assembly needs to be replaced. My research is telling me the the light bar itself cannot be separated from the mirror housing.
There is a big different between this shown edition and middle east edition for me i have to remove the fuse box to get enough space because the cover Got 3 screws to remove the top one is easy but the others ohh it took long time
Thank the lord for your video.. I was concerned this was going to be more difficult than you have made it look ^_^ I was about to have some drinks out then realized. NOPE lol Curious, what light class does it take as I don't have the owners manual before me
20 years ago mechanics and the dealer would of took advantage of you because there were no TH-cam shit hell that's why i didn't work on cars back in the day there were no guidance!
Thanks dude, took me 10 minutes to change my driver's side headlight, and 5 of those were to stop and drink my beer.
Thank you so much, I found your video the day before I was about to spend 200+ at the dealership.
I just completed this job with the help of this video. Thanks a bunch.
Thank you for this, it went just like you said it would and I feel like such a badass for changing out my own bulbs 😂
Very helpful!!! Thank you for clearly explaining how to do this. With cars nowadays, things get complex.
I just did mines thank ya!!! Female 27 years old took me 5 mins each bulb!shop was trying charge me 70 bucks because they gotta take the bumper off!thank you!

This video was so helpful I didn't even need to remove the cap over the fuses I just pulled out the washer fluid tube... thanks so much
Thanks a bunch! Your video made it easier. It went step by step. I would never have thought to remove the washer solvent
Filler tube. Thanks again!
Rick Lipsey
Thank you for the video, very easy to follow, I was done in ten minutes! 👍
Just followed these instructions, worked great, didn't take long. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this video. My passenger side headlight just went out today and I definitely did not want to have to go to the dealership.
Kandice Randall is it because the dealership charges you to much money and you won’t see your car for a few days?
Thank you very much for the video. Took me less than 15 mins to go to the store, buy the bulb and change it.
Thank you for the video! Just completed this in about 15 min and saved me a couple hundred

@@amandahayes8050😂😂😂 hilarity
Your video made this a very easy job. Thanks!
Thanks. You made it a lot easier than what I thought it would had been.
Thanks this video is super helpful! This is a Breeze compared to the 2008-2012 models!!!!
This is great. Thanks. I thought I had to go behind the light by the Tire to change it. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Are the low beam bulbs H11s?
Really appreciate this video---Looks easy enough with the use of this video.
Thank You
What is the bulb type for a 2013 Chevy Malibu with LS trim? I tried googling it but found conflicting info.
My 2013 head lights look nothing like that. It's some kind of led light. Has a cap with 3 screws, I wonder if they just unplug?
Same here trying to replace and this video isn't helpful. Stupid screws
@@thehalfnavajo You must have the high def lights.
Just did it sir. Thanks again.
Thank you for this!! I feel confident doing this change on my own now!

Flako hey man did u ever change the 7443 bulb ,? I need help with mine

Just did mine was too easy appreciate the tutorial video 🖒🏽
This is a very well done video and I very much like to see more cuz I don't know anything about cars
I have the previous Malibu model, 2010. Yes you have to remove the whole front bumper to change the lights. So if one light goes, just change them all.
Does the oil and grease on your gloves from the car affect the bulbs?
Even with latex gloves on, the best rule to follow is 'never touch any part of the bulb that lights', it knows no difference between dirt/grease from your fingers or from latex covered fingers!
took me less time adding HID headlights to my 2013 malibu than it took to watch this entire video.
Hey nice video but I have a 13 malibu ltz and my headlights don't have have them covers in the back I have been looking for a video since June 2021. If you could give me some advice would be greatly appreciated
Very helpful video! Thank you Sir!
Your car is so clean under the hood. How do you clean it?
hi can we use malibu 2014 front grille on malibu 2013.
Can this be done on the 2012 model?
+The Coming of Baby Tyson No you need to take the entire front bumper off to change it. Chevy is a dumb ass for doing that.
I've used the Sylvania ZXE bulbs in my last 4 cars. They are EXCELLENT for those ore concerned with function. They produce an excellent light with superb range AND angle. Good video. Thanks for your time for us that need this video.
I keep being told that the whole fender has to be taken off to replace the bulbs but frm seeing this video im assuming thats wrong?
Excellent video.
Thank you so much! Very well explained super helpful
When I turned it a quarter turn the bulb did not pop out and I couldn’t get it out. What am I doing wrong?
Dave O how much was your bulbs
My big round bulb went out. Can that bulb be replaced?
I believe they all can be replaced
Hey Dave..nice videos man. I just got a 2014 malibu and I want to get 22in wheels on it,what should I get or do so they don't rub?
Not sure about 22" wheels. Might want to check out: www.chevymalibuforum.com
These guys are pretty knowledgable
do you even have taste?
Are the new bulbs brighter and whiter?
They are a little brighter. Looks good
Dave O the man.
what about removing the housing
What kind of bulb is this one? If i want to go HID, wich model should i be looking for? Thsnkd in advance everyone.. and good video, but maybe next time, you could film outside on a sunny day. Thanks again
Hey Dave do you have to take the front end off a 2015 to change the headlights?
Ernestine Lowe, nope
This looks easier to do than the 2008 model, where you have to remove the entire front bumper to get at the bulbs.
Is that Silverstar zxe bulb? if so did you notice on the stock bulb and zxe have much of a color difference? I don't like that yellowish stock bulb look?
Yes the ZXEs are bighter and whiter, but still not like HID bulbs. I still can tell the difference between the color on my Fog LEDs and the Headlamps.
Thanks for the info have Leds on sidemaker wanted to kind of match the headlamp
he dave bu any chance do u know how to change the mirror signal light?
+Beto Martinez Sorry. I haven't tried those, but I would assume they wouldn't need replacement for a long time.
Oh ok one of my mirror signal light went out and i dont know how to change it
is it still under warranty?
I don't believe you CAN change it. The entire assembly needs to be replaced. My research is telling me the the light bar itself cannot be separated from the mirror housing.
This is great. Gonna replace my light today so I dont dont get pulled over again
There is a big different between this shown edition and middle east edition for me i have to remove the fuse box to get enough space because the cover Got 3 screws to remove the top one is easy but the others ohh it took long time
thank you! just did it in minutes
So with the 2013 you don't have to drop the front end of the car like on my Malibu?! I'm mad af 😤
I know. My wife's Suburban was the same. Ridiculous.
is this the same for 2014?
Brendan Whelan i believe so, but have to confirm with the distributor
Dave O no worries I bought a bulb at AutoZone and the guy replaced it for me for free. That was cool. But thanks for the upload!
I take it that the AutoZone guy used the same process to replace your bulb then?
this helped a lot! thanks
Thanks brother
Aprctd Good video
Mine has two screws in that narrow space i tried and couldn't open them
Dont change them I finally got to the bulb with screws and our cars have real HID bulbs. They cost alot to replace them. Over a $100 a bulb.
@@thehalfnavajo I changed them, and cost me 6$ only
Anybody notice what was written inside the housing cap? "Made in Korea".
Parts are made from all over, but the vehicle is put together in the USA
Good shit 👌🏻🔥
Thank the lord for your video.. I was concerned this was going to be more difficult than you have made it look ^_^ I was about to have some drinks out then realized. NOPE lol
Curious, what light class does it take as I don't have the owners manual before me
Low beams are H11
High beams are H7
Fogs are H10 or 9145
Front turn 7444na
Front Parking (drl) 7443
Very helpful thank you
Goated video
Fyi you should probably show us the bulbs cut on Dave! Lol

Excellent!

Thank you. :)
Thanks but it was too dark and you didn't show the completion of actual removal and instillation not the bulb.
Tyvm changed it in autozone parking lot in 5 minutes!!!

Good instructions if only there was more light though can't see that much
