It actually surprises me how many people self sabotage, whether it's consciously or subconsciously, because they are afraid of success (or maybe afraid of not living up to expectations after success)or just really want to avoid the attention. Even as a kid I was sabotaging myself. I remember one time, I was about 7, I was playing soccer and had the perfect opportunity to score a goal and was just like 10 or 15 ft away but I purposely kicked the ball WAY over to the side of the goal. It was a split second decision with absolutely no forethought. I think it was probably a combination of deep down not wanting to be a disappointment in the future and really not wanting attention. I have thought about that so many times in my life. But I still do that $hit lol.
