This was such a gentle yet chaotic stream. Considering how anxious John is about, y'know, everything - I was surprised how chill he was with a literally on fire oven mit.
it's actually a common trait for those of us overthinkers and overworriers! we've rehearsed so many ways things can go wrong in our heads that when a crisis emerges, we can act immediately! (Also other reasons involving cortisol and neurotransmitters etc that I don't remember)
If the kettle itself is stripped a new screw won't hold. It's unlikely the screw just came out unless it's stripped. Might as well get a new kettle at this point.
I watch like 7 different "restore antique thing to like-new" channels. Surely Not-Hank could send his kettle to one of them to be restored. (Sorry, I forgot Not Hank's actual name).
For real tho - the shampoo bar changed if not my life, my enjoyment of the shower. Also, my fiance recently informed me that he's been stealing it. He's been fully converted from 3-in-1 soap. So this is a five star endorsement from both of us!
I just read that the WHO announced that Tuberculosis cases are at a record high, so it's so heartening that you're supporting treatment where it's most needed.
The shampoo bars are actually incredible. They smell amazing, they make your hair feel so nice, and they last FOREVER. I wash my hair like 3 times a week, and I have long hair. I bought myself 2 bars last Christmas, and I still haven’t made it through the second one.
It’s kinda funny how John talked about 90min in line. My best friend stood in line to vote in South Africa’s election this year for 13 and a half hours in order to vote. That’s commitment to democracy 😂
Honestly they’re life changing! In college I used a small coffee maker for tea, then before I got married I used my moms 1 cup keurig, but now I’m finally able to just flip that switch and wait for the boil 🥳
Ahhh thank you for leaving this live up! I caught the last minutes (have never bought a puzzle so fast lol) but then had to go, so a rewatch tonight was the best way to soothe my completely frazzled nerves. I will never get over the joy of yall in the same room 😊
Hi Hank and John! This is the first year CT did early voting and it was incredible! My husband and I were in and out and we got really cute "I voted early" stickers. Congratulations on voting!!
I swear, if you all add anything more to the store, I'm never going to have to buy from anywhere else. This is great! It's also really helping me hopefully have get a headstart on gifting which I'm always SO bad at. Time for a big goodstore order!
Did not expect this when opening my emails right now, currently wearing my awesome socks. I work in a primary school, and my students like to guess which pair I'll be wearing each day
I do love how, upon the discovery of the fire, Hank FREAKS OUT, and John very calmly takes control of the situation, bravely and valiantly grabbing an object that is actively on fire.
I would have classed the mitt catching fire as a level 1 emergency but you both handled it like it was nothing! I would 1000% buy your tea and coffee if you could ship to Australia!
Been drinking the Keats tea since this summer when you pre-launched. All good. My faves are the Evensong Chai and the Moonlight Mint. And yes, I do put milk in the chai 😊. Lemon in the mint.
Omg! Rebrand: The Good General Store. Slowly you will branch out into all the things. Welcome to the tea tribe boys. Also I think the UK store you are thinking of is Harod’s.
I get the Forager soap, and honestly, I just wash my hair with it too. It's such good soap. I'd never normally spend that much on soap, and I've got a bit of a stock of it right now ('cause it comes faster than I use it up, 'cause it really lasts) so a lot of my loved ones might get some Forager soap for Christmas, lol.
I voted yesterday - it was quick and they let me have three fun stickers! (I'm definitely more excited about stickers than participating in the democratic process.)
Interesting site, will look again when find out how much plumber says I can keep. Love Earl Grey and yes a touch of sugar is magic,as is steeping a few lavender buds in it.
I love the tea and the little tea strainer, but I hate cleaning it afterward, but you know what?? It IS just leaves. I never thought to compost tea. Thank you! This was a fun stream.
No waiting to vote in my tiny little town/county seat. Three boxes (two inside the courthouse and one outside) or just hand your ballot to the city clerk. Our city clerk knows everyone by name and helped my son with his ballot (he didn't get counted last time because his "signature didn't match" - he has a neurological disease that makes his hand shake). Our county clerk made a note of that on her voter registry page so that won't happen again.
Zoned out after they talked undies and zoned back in when they said “autumn bold” and 100% thought they were saying “autumn bulge” 😅the shock I had for 5 seconds before contextualizing
An "herbal tea" is any tea-like infusion of some herb other than the actual tea plant. (And so in some places cannot be called "tea" and must be just called "infusions" instead.)
Or tisanes! Anything that gets put in water and has soluble chemicals extracted into the solution is an infusion. So coffee and tea are both infusions.
I'm having sipping some Golden Fire Ginger tea right now to settle my stomach (it's working great by the way) and just ordered the seasonal tea bundle! You sold me on the Autumn Bold. Also, good to know that the "I'm not talking to you Google!" is a shared experience.😆
That precarious kettle handle looks like such an easy fix, please repair it and soothe my anxiety!! I’m sure the folks around here have plenty of suggestions on how to do that.
For years I've wanted a puzzle showing the suburbs and major roads (and other landmarks) of my city (Perth, Western Australia) so I can learn these things while doing and re-doing(!!!) a beautiful puzzle. I think other people would love to learn geography this way too and yet I've found very few resources for helping with this.
John, allow me to introduce you to a radical notion: electric kettles with automatic shut-off! They may not be quite as charming as stovetop kettles, but they’re quick, efficient, and don’t tantalize you cruelly by withholding boiling water for tea. They are a bit noisy as they get to work, but they’re worth it all the same. You can even get a fancy one that can be set to different temperatures that are ideal for different tea types. Perhaps something for your own Christmas list…?
I thought people were being reductive when they say Americans don't do electric kettles but seeing John heating his water on fire has me flabbergasted....
49:42 I'm pretty sure Herbal means that it doesn't have tea leaves in it. So no red, black, green tea etc. It's made of other herbs like peppermint, etc.
Man, I can't imagine having a stovetop kettle with even a mildly busted handle. I'm slightly scalding my hand every 4th pour of an electric kettle, with a perfectly functional handle.
Dear Santa: Please take John a new kettle, and for goodness' sake PLEASE take Hank a pair of bifocals. They're both very good boys, I promise.
So painful to watch him stare over his glasses 😂
A nice electric kettle with temperature control so he isn't scorching any tea other than black that he's making!
Bifocals or progressive lenses.
Poor Hank. I feel it. I'm still refusing to get them, but I take my glasses off to read. And often hold things far away. Solidarity, Hank.
Co-signed, I wish all tea drinkers may have a nice electric kettle, but specifically John Green
These are adults who do big things on a global scale.... They are also dorks.
I have no idea anymore if calling someone a dork is offensive. I hope it’s not. I liked the post 😂
And we love them for all of it 😁
Dorks=nerds
The Kings of Nerdfighteria - who may or may not start a fire making tea!
This was such a gentle yet chaotic stream. Considering how anxious John is about, y'know, everything - I was surprised how chill he was with a literally on fire oven mit.
So calm! Perfect reaction time!
I was reminded of my using days watching him 😢
You’re welcome for the even 100th like

Hank's present: A matching screw for the other side of the kettle.
If the kettle itself is stripped a new screw won't hold. It's unlikely the screw just came out unless it's stripped. Might as well get a new kettle at this point.

Love a good callback
Everything had been leading up to this moment...
that's proper committing to the bit!! 😂😂😂
I just post the same comment before seeing yours. I'm glad to know hank and John's old quotes just live in all our heads rent free
For real tho - the shampoo bar changed if not my life, my enjoyment of the shower. Also, my fiance recently informed me that he's been stealing it. He's been fully converted from 3-in-1 soap. So this is a five star endorsement from both of us!
that’s my new thing: “gestures broadly!” endlessly useful
"I'm gonna force you to put sugar in your tea today" "no" "yeah" "okay"
Im honestly surprised John is not a tea drinker, he definitely has the vibes.

It feels like just yesterday that John was adamantly listing his reasons against the idea of going into loose leaf teas… and now here we are. Hahahaha
what were his reasons
@@jbkkkkkit's on some dear hank and john

Same for the soap! I bought a sample pack with relatively thin pieces of soap over a year ago and I’m finally using the last one.
I love this! Even watching after the fact, its like hanging out with friends and its giving chill P4A vibes
Yes, early P4A vibes before things go bananas!
Ah mah gah WE NEED MORE OF THESE
I agree!
I agree too
As a tea lover I'm delighted that looseleaf tea was the best option for you for so many reasons!
“It’s just like hard right now”
“The tension of the moment”
Both great video titles!
I don't know what's happening but I love it!

y’all need to add sarah’s mugs to the good store!! they’re gorgeous 😍
Yes! I want a close up on these mugs. Love the one with a ginkgo leaf.
Just watched this and I need to say how good it is for my heart that good people like yall exist. So thanks.

Right when I completed my purchase, you thanked someone else named Lauren, and I gladly accepted the gratitude 😆
The Nerdfighter version of the HSN channel. I love it!
12:08 Hank! Don't activate my Google like that!
Wow, they actually did address all of my Christmas gifting needs. These boys know their audience!
"Dont you worry your pretty little head about a thing" omg thats the cutest phrase i have ever heard
Listening from England... just had to stop the timer for the chai on my bedroom speaker 😂

This livestream was effective in jumpstarting my xmas shopping and finally getting my hands on the tea and soaps.
I would have classed the mitt catching fire as a level 1 emergency but you both handled it like it was nothing! I would 1000% buy your tea and coffee if you could ship to Australia!
It was seriously giving me a headache just watching Hank squint at his phone 😂
You guys make me happy ❤🎉❤🎉

If this was in late March, I would think this was April Fools. Adding underwear and puzzles during a tea video
I am so happy hank is a sugar in your tea person, I always feel like its cheating but it tastes so good!

Every time they "hey google"ed, my phone was like, "whats up?"
A seemingly unknown tip for anyone using a Google home: you don't need to say "hey Google" when a timer is going off. Just saying "stop" will stop it.
Who knew?! Thanks 🙏

Ginger tea is amazing for settling the stomach. So is turmeric and black liquorice (though I hate the taste of liquorice).
I love the Blue Fields Earl Grey! 🙂
I loooove how subtle yet beautiful the scents are in the soap and shampoo bars!
I love John showing off Sarah's mugs!
This is the most chaotic thing and I love it so much. I just bought some socks and tea for stocking stuffers. I can't wait:)
I'm enjoying my Keats&Co tea very much :)

Turns out Hank and John can control my Google. 😂😂😂
That precarious kettle handle looks like such an easy fix, please repair it and soothe my anxiety!! I’m sure the folks around here have plenty of suggestions on how to do that.
Fixing that tea pot would be pretty straight forward. Piece of threaded rod and two acorn nuts.
For years I've wanted a puzzle showing the suburbs and major roads (and other landmarks) of my city (Perth, Western Australia) so I can learn these things while doing and re-doing(!!!) a beautiful puzzle. Even more radical notion, an electric kettle with by degree temperature control and can hold a temperature for up to an hour!
That Earl grey is impeccable 👌🏼👌🏼

I missed it!!! Will sun basin soap be branching out to conditioner bars?
Depending on the type and grade, you can brew loose leaf tea multiple times too
This is like a really nerdy, philanthropic QVC channel. Also someone please order John a new tea kettle.
The brain cells from these brothers equals that of a whole college campus 😂
The timing of the first advert was perfect - right as you left camera shot for mugs. Please tell me that was deliberate.

Man, I can't imagine having a stovetop kettle with even a mildly busted handle. I'm slightly scalding my hand every 4th pour of an electric kettle, with a perfectly functional handle.
I freaked out a little bit, Ray.
the caffiene free chai is amazing! and i seldom get to have chai since its usually based around a black tea, so its EXTRA nice!
this was excellent company while I worked, thanks brothers
Hank-please consider getting John an electric kettle for Christmas.
John apologizing to the Google home was great and on brand
Id like to sip tea with yall one day
tea= cups of heaven. love you hank...but no tea needs sugar
Enjoy the taste of tea! If it’s too strong, control the variables of amount of leaf, temperature of the water, and length of steeping time!
Yep, even watching this later, I now have made a Christmas shopping purchase from Good Store (and only half of the items are for me).
I'd love to shop on Good Store, it all looks really good quality, but tbh it's incredibly expensive. Especially after shipping (to Canada).
Y'all if you do Earl Grey but double bergamot to make it Lady Grey I will be SOLD FOR LIFE take my money please! I drink two cups of Lady Gray a day!
