  • Carlo Rovelli's new book, Helgoland is available now: amzn.to/31wzrZl
    Helgoland is the story of quantum physics and its bright young founders who were to become some of the most famous Nobel winners. It is a celebration of youthful rebellion and intellectual revolution. It is a transformative journey. Here Carlo Rovelli, a master storyteller and influential scientist, illuminates competing interpretations and offers his own original theory: the 'relational' interpretation of quantum mechanics, where the world is fundamentally made of relations and events rather than permanent substances. Where we, as every other thing around us, exist in our interactions with one another, in a never-ending game of mirrors.

    if only they understand...

    I think Mr. Rovelli would provide for some interesting conversations. S.A what is the foundational nature of consciousness? Does matter arise from mind or mind arise from matter? Not the human mind of course but perhaps something more transcendent of which human minds are only a reflection.
    The begiining of the universe is fairly simple of course. Prior to the manifestation of the (a) universe there would have to be the potential for that manifestation. What would provide the transition from potential to manifestation? That's an interesting question!

    Yep. 'Nothing" doesn't relate to any experiment or observation. Nothing is something that we want to happen but has no extrapolation in reality. Relations are what makes things not things having properties.

    Call it a computer simulation, a machine, a book, a dream or a God. I don't know but I like to believe consciousness creates reality and psychical science is part of that creation.

    Time Theory
    You are a Time Mechanic!
    Time lines - Infinity - all information
    What is the universe?
    The universe consists of pure - Information - is the universe.
    What is information?
    One bit of information is a technology
    Two bits of information create a new independent information- a new information structure
    What are atoms or matter?
    Structures of information or better, technologies!
    One technology = one individual atom
    Two technologies make a new technology
    A - new structure made up of two inner technologies or structures. Itself is a technology. Independent
    What is mathematics?
    Information interactions - creating new information / or interactions between set technologies (From & too infinity)
    What is time?
    Time is Information - interacting to create a order. A sense of entropy is the ordering of the information interactions - creating new technologies and technologies sets.

      @Kittitee Sriraksa So far for me the most logical explanation why we live in simulation is that we can describe any object (no matter how big or small) with set of physical properties (size, mass, charge, velocities etc etc). However I am still skeptical (that anybody cares :D).

    Even people who know a lot, like Rovelli, can't understand that we live in a virtual reality, whatever the "BASE REALITY" may be... it seems that Rovelli never studied Computer Science or, if he did, he didn't learn the final lesson of the domain... This happens a lot with brilliant people who lack knowledge in various fields... Three simple questions for Rovelli from the back row of the classroom: where was Carlo Rovelli 500 centuries ago? Where will Carlo Rovelli be in 500 years? What really is matter or gravity? So he doubts the Cosmology of the Big Bang, but talks about black holes that nobody has seen and measured in the laboratory... what a mess Carlo... You shouldn't talk about what you don't master! Otherwise, you'll be in the business of pop science and amusing nonsense, like Kaku, Krauss or Degrasse Tyson... remember what you said in another show : " Reality is not things, but connections" I wonder if you know really what this means...

    • @Swampzoid
      @Swampzoid 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @RellyOhBoy

    This video sucks LOL! He acts as though all of his answers are absolute truths as opposed to just being his particular views on the subjects. There are more arguments that support us being in a simulation than there are arguments against us being in a simulation...

      @InfinityBlue4321 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@CodamATW Any serious scientist with knowledge of the current state of the art in the main scientific domains, including computer science, can explain this to you... at Oxford, there are several of them... they only differ, when it comes to the nature of basic reality, as opposed to our virtual reality... I could explain it to you, and that takes too long and i dont know your scientific background but you'd better burn your midnight oil to understand the thing... Rovelli is completely out of scope here...

    Well, turns out Carlo Rovelli knows absolutely nothing about Simulation Theory...or how it's definitely not just "grounded" in the fact people got giddy after playing video games...both Plato and Descartes theorized on variations of it, long before video games were a thing.
