Hi, I only blow out water from city water and freshwater and black water flush holes . can I just fill the antifreeze into flash water tank and turn on water pump through the whole system? Do I need to open lowpoint valve to drain after fill in antifreeze ? Thanks!
I would not recommend putting antifreeze in the fresh tank because it will take forever to flush out completely in the spring. Low point drains are important because water sits down there. Without opening those drains the air or antifreeze cannot displace the water. Once all the water is blown out you don't technically need to use the antifreeze, but if you do, use the winterizing hose and valve attached to the water pump. Be sure to put some antifreeze down the drains so there is no water left in the traps. Put extra in so some gets in the holding tanks, too, or make sure the tanks are completely drained when you're done.
The antifreeze method is probably easier overall. However, I have heard that the antifreeze can leave a funny taste in your pipes for a while after you flush the system in the spring. I have never tried the antifreeze method so I cannot confirm. There wouldn't really be a reason to do both methods (air first, then antifreeze). With the antifreeze method, once you've pumped antifreeze through the system there would not be any water left, and even if there was it would be so diluted it would not be able to freeze. That said, a little compressed air in the fresh tank pushed out 3 gallons from my fresh tank that didn't drain by gravity alone and I would recommend people try that to see if it makes a difference on their rig. I've investigated what's going on with my fresh tank and it looks like the problem is that the drain line is very small in diameter. Not sure why that would make a difference though. Thanks for your question!
Great video!! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!

The 2 red handle valves next to your fresh water drain(1:30 mark), are those also low water drain points?
Yes, they are.
Are there benefits to using the compressed air method over the anti-freeze method? Also could you use both methods for added protection from the cold?
