I've been a fan of the series since last year when I played Risky's Revenge and Pirate's Curse and I've been forever wating for this one (would've backed it on Kickstarter instantly had this happened in 2013). Anyway the game is here now, I've been playing for about an hour, taking my time, interacting with everything and listening to that GODLY Virt soundtrack. Excellent work WayForward!

Couldn't put down the controller and go to sleep until I beat it! Well worth the wait; absolutely loved it! Wayforward (among others) are shining examples of the potential that indie companies have in making games that are as good as/ better than many triple-A titles. Thanks to Wayforward and all the backers for bringing this game to life! I hope to see another Shantae game in the future! If so, hopefully it will have what this one could've had had it been funded more (ie cutscenes, full voice acting, hero modes.)

Gaias Rebirth I backed the game. And I'm pretty sure that anyone who backed the game will get this DLC included. But if you're buying the game now, then I think you would have to pay for the DLC. Which is fair in my book.
Oh what an awesome game this is. Disappointed at first because I wanted the retro graphics of previous Shantae games but I was so wrong. This is a masterpiece. I have it on Switch and just recently a purchased the Risky Beats edition on Vita just because. Can't wait for Shantae 5.
Bought a physical copy of the PS4 version. Always was interested in the series but never got around to playing a game in it until now. Even after just a few hours I can see why people like it and why the fans went to the trouble of getting this funded. Thanks to everybody involved in getting this made.

I'm waiting to see if it's best if I LP this game blind or practiced before I crack into it. On the plus side, that might mean I have a little backer DLC by the time I'm ready to record--we shall see. It's a good thing for me my excitement is outweighed by my patience! Also, I'm glad to see a lot of favorite upgrades from previous games returning!
the graphics really do remind me of ducktales remastered, 2d characters and enemies, 3d enviroment and items, though that boss arena in the desert theme however throws a wrench into the feel
Hey guys, I need some input, I'm curious... Do you think they will make another Shantae game? I know it's a bit odd, especially since a new one was just released, but as I'm sure you all know, it felt a little lacking when compared to, say, Pirates Curse. The visuals are stunning, (at least to me), and the gameplay is solid and fluid, but it was the story I was most interested in. Don't get me wrong, it's good, and it's far from the worst, but it's also far from the best. I know more content is on its way in the near future, but I'm wondering just in case they're some hold ups. *cough* delays *cough*. I love the series and it's ideas, and I'd love for it to be more fleshed out. I've seen many people say how they'd love a TV Series/Movie of this series, and the more I think about it, the more I'd love for it to happen, you know? Sorry for the large paragraph, just my opinion. Thanks.
I just discovered the series and automatically dled the 3 games it had on the 3ds. I just finished playing risky's revenge and I loved it and will be playing Pirate's curse and GBC Shantae soon. I'm happy the franchise is growing fast and healthy but i do hope the company doesn't forget about how the series grew up on handhelds, I hope the next shantae game will be released on the 3ds as well as the new3ds is all I have now. It would be nice to have HGH be made for the 3ds as well. (I really hope)
I hope to buy this game soon, either this weekend if able or the 3rd of next month if not able. I really should resume with Pirate's Curse before hand though since I haven't played it in months
