The Dad's backstory should have been this: As the family is nesting (LF is the last egg at this point) on their journey to the Great Valley, Bron notices there is a Sharptooth in the area. He knows there is one egg left "The last hope of their herd". He knows his wife won't want her parents to go off and die, and he won't send his wife off to die, so he decides that he will go off alone and draw the sharptooth away from his family. While he is gone, LF hatches and LBT movie begins. After a few exhausting days of playing cat and mouse with the Sharptooth, Bron believes he has given his family a good headstart and stops to let the Sharptooth catch him. After a few hours of waiting, the Sharptooth does not show up. At first, he thinks he gave the thing the slip and he might be able to make it to the Great Valley to see his family. As he begins his trek back, he realizes the Sharptooth gave up the chase a day ago and is headed back toward his family. Dying from exhaustion, he rushes back toward his family only for the Earthshake to occur, separating him from his family and the Sharptooth. After many days of wandering, he gets to the other side of the divide, where he finds his wife dead from the Sharptooth attack. He then assumes the remainder of his herd was also killed. There were a lot of dinos that fell into that bottomless pit, so it wouldn't be a stretch to believe that his in-laws were among them.
I think that's what they were trying to get at. This to was my head cannon before this movie I think it works out just they dumb it down to where it is to watered down and looks dumb. Which is sad because the first movie was so more darker.
Yours makes SO much more sense. I think the sharptooth being a ridiculously larger than average sharptooth that they all can't fight would have been even better and then that sharptooth shows up much later as well.

this movie has always hit hard for me, I was fostered and then adopted when I was 7ish, from what I know my biological dad was never in the picture and I was kind of a surprise, my biological mom really couldn't take care of me physically or financially. I never had friends who were in foster or adopted so I always felt kind of out of place. the whole plot with Shortie made me feel more normal about my situation when I was a kid. I love this movie, despite the animation flaws, it really made me feel at home.
This is surprisingly one of the better entries. I do like that they addressed the “missing parent” trope. I do think Shorty should’ve been given more to do, tho. Didn’t think enough was done with him.

Honestly I took this one as sauropods having flesh memories of a previous meteorite. Think about it there are tyrannosaurus right now. Indicating it's the cretaceous. Except for a handful all sauropods we're gone by then. These sauropods are descendants of the survivors of the Jurassic extinction. The same way we are primed to find snakes and look at airplanes out of instinct . These sauropods could genetically remember a event in Thier past that draws them to the place of said event. Alternatively they could have been like elephants and it could have started as a grave sight but over thousands of millions of years it could have just turned to a habitual migration pattern ingrained into them

Birds were the other big nemesis we had to deal with growing up into what we are now. And even though we got bigger and birds no longer routinely hunt us. Our brains are hard wired to respond to birds or signs of birds over head.
cats also instinctively just hate snakes and if the cat is old enough and certain they can win will go out of its way to kill the snake otherwise they avoid at all costs unless they see an alligator in which case they sit there and slap it

Ever notice how they call "dreams" Sleep Stories but while singing the last song Cera sings DREAMS in the song? Don't know why but it always bothered me that they knew another word for dreams the entire time. 😅
Something similar happened in the Mysterious Island movie, in the Big Water song, they sing "We wish the sun would fly up", even tho they usually refer to the sun as the "Bright Circle".
Honestly, LittleFoot's father looking for a safe nesting sight wasn't a bad idea. If they had just changed the background of that scene. Make it a desolate wasteland. Then it works perfectly. He's the youngest male. He's spry and able. And he's sure as hell not going to send his mate out in possible danger to drop an egg. But with all the earthquakes and other disasters, it would be reasonable to assume he died, and the herd needed to move on. He would probably also assume they didn't make it.

The fight scene at the end just shows how ridiculously powerful they made these T.rexes and how weak they made the sauropods, every time the sauropods whipped the Rexes right in the face with their tails, that should have killed the Rexes at once, but no, the Rexes just shrug it off and then they somehow knock down these gigantic multi-ton sauropods with simple headbutts. Are, are these T.rexes made of titanium? Sauropods aren't that weak, they shouldn't fly away like sacks of empty bottles when a T.rex headbutts them! XD

The thumbnail in this video is what made me decide to watch all of Alteori's TLBT videos. Just the contrast between "wholesome" in the title and Little Foot's derp face had me on the floor rolling with laughter. Great video as always.
I give little foots father a benefit of the doubt, I mean my family when through similar situation, my father came to the area where we live while my mom was pregnant and secure a place to live, he than later returned for my mother, the only difference is little foots mom probably was forced to leave
The reason Bron’s voice is so amazing is because he’s voiced by the great Kiefer Sutherland. If you’ve ever seen The Lost Boys, you’ll know exactly why I love him so much. 😂 This is one of my favorite LBT movies of all time.

One little missed detail: they changed Littlefoot's mother's colors. If I remember right from the original, his mother was brown- and tan-colored, but in the flashback she has about the same color scheme as his grandpa.
Wouldn't it be both funny and heart wrenching for the movie to end with the dinosaurs noticing a meteorite (The meteorite) in the the distance and remarking it as "pretty" 😁😉😂😂😭😓

It doesn't help that animators give animal characters human-like features in a way that's still animal, but just enough human for us to recognize emotions and either become attached or fond of the character. A character can be handsome or beautiful without being actually attracted to it.
28:01 In all fairness sensei, the first land before time movie wasn't exactly sunshine and rainbows. Bron probably had the right idea to go real estate hunting.
They could have had a recreation from LBT1 of Cera trying to quietly wake up the group when she realizes they right next to the Sharptooth. Once again, opportunity wasted cuz they didn't bother even watching the first movie for a reference.
so something to note when it comes to 2d animation using 3d. This is usually used when they are trying to do an incredibly complicated shot that requires a 3d view of the character which would be incredibly tough/expensive to do. So many animation studios use it either to reduce price and make it look better then it would or if they dont have the time which for a show like this which is releasing shows regularly at its time. There are many shows that use this to better effect though, a number of anime are better examples of using 3d environments with 2d characters but once again there are also awful examples. Its used as an easy button but when used with skill it can look good.
Hello Alteori. The long summary of episode 10, the Great Longneck Migration. I love this episode. Also, the voice actor of Bron is Kiefer Sutherland, I didn't know that. I was surprised. Had to look it up on Google, he was also casted as Jack Bauer in the 24 tv series on FOX. I remember watching this episode one time when it was on Cartoon Network, somewhat remembered it. After watching this review video, I love it. As always, love the artwork, wonderful. You should do a pic/story video of this artwork, love to hear it. Anyway, another great video, Alteori, I like it, see you in the next one.
The biggest flaw with this movie in my opinion is; "Bernadette Peters doesn't sing." Edit: this should have been the final sequel with Littlefoot actually leaving with his Dad. The way he decides to stay just ruins the emotion and makes the song being there, pointless.
When Bron said the part about finding someone who told him what happened with Littlefoot's mother and the Sharptooth, I had just come from the first Land Before Time movie review and I kinda have a theory. What if that dinosaur who told Bron what happened was that cranky old dino that Littlefoot bumped into shortly after his mom died? The one who gave him the whole "She may not be here with you physically, but she'll always be in your heart" advice? IDK just a thought but I like to think it was a small behind-the-scenes detail.
As a kid, I watched this many times as the 8th film and enjoyed its songs. Especially Adventuring song and Bestest Friends which is still in my head to this day. The new characters were okay including Bron. Today, while it's not as good as I remember, it's solid for me.
Off topic but I’ve realized that in the first movie Littlefoots mother says there’ll be more long necks in the great valley, but we never actually see any other long necks that live in the great valley

I was late in the game watching LBT 10. I was ....12 lol. For some reason, I stopped after the 7th movie, prolly because the latest movie I had was the 7th movie (ya know back when netflix and amazon prime weren't of existence to me, pst, Blockbuster). Annnnd kinda just got out of my little kid phase of LBT for a good few years. And oh my god when I heard Brons voice I was like. KEIFER SUTHERLAND you charming devil you. lol. I was screaming. Perfect and yet unexpected. Love it!
I was raised by my narcissistic mom and abusive stepfather, who raised me to see him as my biological father despite him obviously wanting nothing to do with me. When I found out he wasn’t my biological father, it was both relieving and upsetting because he was supposed to love me like his own daughter but didn’t (and it was obvious when you saw how he treated my sister, his biological child). Then, I met my biological father. I was so nervous I kept debating if I should back out of the meeting or not lol but I’m so glad I went. A lot of questions were answered and I found out where I got my sense of humor and looks from. My mom and I both have brown hair and blue eyes, but that’s where the physical similarities needed and it was enough for me. I look like a female version of my biological dad and not even my aunt (mom’s sister) realized it until she saw us standing side-by-side. My grandma has the picture of me, my bio dad, his mom, and his grandma together from that meeting framed in her room and I smile every time she asks me to get something from her room and Insee it. So, I can understand a lot of what Little Foot must have felt. It’s scary to suddenly find a long lost family member and have to rethink your entire family tree, and sometimes it ends badly. But it’s worth it to know where you come from, even if you DO have family you feel so extremely close to like how his grandparents filled the role of mom and dad for him for so long. It’s just nice to find more people to give you unconditional love. And my bio dad has been a better father to me in the last 5 years than my stepdad had ever been in 26.
I don't know how Alteori concieves these creatures. The midnight ornabo(?) looks like an organic sleep paralysis demon lemur. Or Katz from Courage the Cowardly Dog.
Minor nitpick but I've notice that from the last movie onward they have been using the same Sharpteeth sound effects for their roar, and it's not that remarkable. Also, when Bron said that Sharpteeth hunt in twos and threes I thought he was referring to the herd size they go after, because he was telling Littlefoot that Sharpteeth would never attack a big herd. Nevertheless, this is one of my favorite of TLBT sequels, although I remember when Marzgurl reviewed this film and I was in agreement with her about how Brons story doesn't add up because he should have known how to get to the great valley or could have tried to look there, or that there is no reason for him not to just bring his whole herd to the great valley at the end. Speaking of the end with this being the 10th film it would have been really interesting if Littlefoot had left with his father and the next film could have been about him returning. Lastly, I always thought that it was kind of odd that we don't see Alie again as it would make sense to see her here. Interesting trivia: Bron is voiced nicely by Kiefer Sutherland and the song Best Friends at the end is sung by Olivia Newton-John.
The problem with Broms backstory literally could have been fixed by just making the flashback place the same as it was in the first movie- it couldn't have been that long since Bron left.
Mmmmmm. I could get used-to/spoiled-over Alteori giving us these double-hitz of short-form + long-form Land B/F Time reviews! Twice the hilarious fun ... but we must understand that it IS driving her to fully catatonic dissociation insanity from reality ... and the certainty that "The Wisdom of Friends" WILL cause her to self-evaporate from life all together! Maybe it's best if she does just get through some of these as fast as possible? We shall see!
So I know Alteori was complaining about how Bron left so he can find a safe place for the eggs and it looked like they had a safe place to live. Except literally the first scene of the first LBT was a bunch of eggs be broken out of and something most likely eat it and that even an egg stealer nearly ate little foot too. Granted sharp tooth have entered the great valley, but it's clear it's not a common occurrence since the babies or other dinosaurs aren't eaten yet (or maybe it's because the herbivores out number them). But I believe Bron's story because for the most part out of the LBT series the great valley is safer since everytime the venture out it the kids are in constant danger.

This coulded be a worth final for the franchise... But I also like that the franchise doesn´t end just like that. Imagine if all The Land Before Time just... ends, with a heart touching final. Feels like a worth end, but still feels so sad. And also when the franchise went on with more material we got the series, which i like it very much. Also I think each one of the 14 movies and the tv show helps us to take a bigger view, a more complete view of this dinosaur world, since it makes it a much bigger world for viewing. The movies had always show something new, a new part of this "universe" we have never seen it before, and that makes it better. The midnight ordabo looks so dangerous with that innocent-creepy look on its eyes, looks like a dog when its a milisecond close of explode and bite you. 🐶

Honestly, LittleFoot's father looking for a safe nesting sight wasn't a bad idea. If they had just changed the background of that scene. Make it a desolate wasteland. Then it works perfectly. He's the youngest male. He's spry and able. And he's sure as hell not going to send his mate out in possible danger to drop an egg. But with all the earthquakes and other disasters, it would be reasonable to assume he died, and the herd needed to move on. He would probably also assume they didn't make it.

The fight scene at the end just shows how ridiculously powerful they made these T.rexes and how weak they made the sauropods, every time the sauropods whipped the Rexes right in the face with their tails, that should have killed the Rexes at once, but no, the Rexes just shrug it off and then they somehow knock down these gigantic multi-ton sauropods with simple headbutts. Are, are these T.rexes made of titanium? Sauropods aren't that weak, they shouldn't fly away like sacks of empty bottles when a T.rex headbutts them! XD

One little missed detail: they changed Littlefoot's mother's colors. If I remember right from the original, his mother was brown- and tan-colored, but in the flashback she has about the same color scheme as his grandpa.
I guess it kind of makes sense as Littlefoot's mother biological parents are Littlefoot's grandparents, but it just seems weird.

It doesn't help that animators give animal characters human-like features in a way that's still animal, but just enough human for us to recognize emotions and either become attached or fond of the character. LBT10 is definitely the best out of the sequels and I love it and this review was so good
so something to note when it comes to 2d animation using 3d. This is usually used when they are trying to do an incredibly complicated shot that requires a 3d view of the character which would be incredibly tough/expensive to do. So many animation studios use it either to reduce price and make it look better then it would or if they dont have the time which for a show like this which is releasing shows regularly at its time. There are many shows that use this to better effect though, a number of anime are better examples of using 3d environments with 2d characters but once again there are also awful examples. Its used as an easy button but when used with skill it can look good.

The long summary of episode 10, the Great Longneck Migration. I love this episode. Also, the voice actor of Bron is Kiefer Sutherland, I didn't know that. I was surprised. Had to look it up on Google, he was also casted as Jack Bauer in the 24 tv series on FOX. I remember watching this episode one time when it was on Cartoon Network, somewhat remembered it. After watching this review video, I love it.
As always, love the artwork, wonderful. You should do a pic/story video of this artwork, love to hear it.

Edit: this should have been the final sequel with Littlefoot actually leaving with his Dad. The way he decides to stay just ruins the emotion and makes the song being there, pointless.

When Bron said the part about finding someone who told him what happened with Littlefoot's mother and the Sharptooth, I had just come from the first Land Before Time movie review and I kinda have a theory. What if that dinosaur who told Bron what happened was that cranky old dino that Littlefoot bumped into shortly after his mom died? The one who gave him the whole "She may not be here with you physically, but she'll always be in your heart" advice? IDK just a thought but I like to think it was a small behind-the-scenes detail.

As a kid, I watched this many times as the 8th film and enjoyed its songs. Especially Adventuring song and Bestest Friends which is still in my head to this day. The new characters were okay including Bron. Today, while it's not as good as I remember, it's solid for me.

I was late in the game watching LBT 10. I was ....12 lol. For some reason, I stopped after the 7th movie, prolly because the latest movie I had was the 7th movie (ya know back when netflix and amazon prime weren't of existence to me, pst, Blockbuster). Annnnd kinda just got out of my little kid phase of LBT for a good few years.
And oh my god when I heard Brons voice I was like. KEIFER SUTHERLAND you charming devil you. lol. I was screaming. Perfect and yet unexpected. Love it!
I was raised by my narcissistic mom and abusive stepfather, who raised me to see him as my biological father despite him obviously wanting nothing to do with me. When I found out he wasn’t my biological father, it was both relieving and upsetting because he was supposed to love me like his own daughter but didn’t (and it was obvious when you saw how he treated my sister, his biological child). Then, I met my biological father. I was so nervous I kept debating if I should back out of the meeting or not lol but I’m so glad I went. A lot of questions were answered and I found out where I got my sense of humor and looks from. My mom and I both have brown hair and blue eyes, but that’s where the physical similarities needed and it was enough for me. I look like a female version of my biological dad and not even my aunt (mom’s sister) realized it until she saw us standing side-by-side. My grandma has the picture of me, my bio dad, his mom, and his grandma together from that meeting framed in her room and I smile every time she asks me to get something from her room and Insee it. So, I can understand a lot of what Little Foot must have felt. It’s scary to suddenly find a long lost family member and have to rethink your entire family tree, and sometimes it ends badly. But it’s worth it to know where you come from, even if you DO have family you feel so extremely close to like how his grandparents filled the role of mom and dad for him for so long. It’s just nice to find more people to give you unconditional love. And my bio dad has been a better father to me in the last 5 years than my stepdad had ever been in 26.
I don't know how Alteori concieves these creatures. The midnight ornabo(?) looks like an organic sleep paralysis demon lemur. Or Katz from Courage the Cowardly Dog.

They went all out with this one. They were like “get us Kiefer Sutherland”. Top tier voice acting for the dad.
Minor nitpick but I've notice that from the last movie onward they have been using the same Sharpteeth sound effects for their roar, and it's not that remarkable. Also, when Bron said that Sharpteeth hunt in twos and threes I thought he was referring to the herd size they go after, because he was telling Littlefoot that Sharpteeth would never attack a big herd.
Nevertheless, this is one of my favorite of TLBT sequels, although I remember when Marzgurl reviewed this film and I was in agreement with her about how Brons story doesn't add up because he should have known how to get to the great valley or could have tried to look there, or that there is no reason for him not to just bring his whole herd to the great valley at the end.
Speaking of the end with this being the 10th film it would have been really interesting if Littlefoot had left with his father and the next film could have been about him returning. Lastly, I always thought that it was kind of odd that we don't see Alie again as it would make sense to see her here. Interesting trivia: Bron is voiced nicely by Kiefer Sutherland and the song Best Friends at the end is sung by Olivia Newton-John.
The problem with Broms backstory literally could have been fixed by just making the flashback place the same as it was in the first movie- it couldn't have been that long since Bron left.
Mmmmmm. I could get used-to/spoiled-over Alteori giving us these double-hitz of short-form + long-form Land B/F Time reviews! Twice the hilarious fun ... but we must understand that it IS driving her to fully catatonic dissociation insanity from reality ... and the certainty that "The Wisdom of Friends" WILL cause her to self-evaporate from life all together! Maybe it's best if she does just get through some of these as fast as possible? We shall see!
So I know Alteori was complaining about how Bron left so he can find a safe place for the eggs and it looked like they had a safe place to live. Except literally the first scene of the first LBT was a bunch of eggs be broken out of and something most likely eat it and that even an egg stealer nearly ate little foot too. Granted sharp tooth have entered the great valley, but it's clear it's not a common occurrence since the babies or other dinosaurs aren't eaten yet (or maybe it's because the herbivores out number them). But I believe Bron's story because for the most part out of the LBT series the great valley is safer since everytime the venture out it the kids are in constant danger.
Watched this the summer the time story 3 was released and also watched return of the Jedi all three of these films made me cry 2010

I love pat,( the long neck that Cera ptree ducky and spike meet) when they meet him he's like enjoys how stupid Cera's action where when jumping over thr rapids. I also love how his one shoulder is very broken yet healed, it makes me wonder what happened to him in his past.

This coulded be a worth final for the franchise...
But I also like that the franchise doesn´t end just like that. Imagine if all The Land Before Time just... ends, with a heart touching final. Feels like a worth end, but still feels so sad.
And also when the franchise went on with more material we got the series, which i like it very much. Also I think each one of the 14 movies and the tv show helps us to take a bigger view, a more complete view of this dinosaur world, since it makes it a much bigger world for viewing. The movies had always show something new, a new part of this "universe" we have never seen it before, and that makes it better.
The midnight ordabo looks so dangerous with that innocent-creepy look on its eyes, looks like a dog when its a milisecond close of explode and bite you. 🐶
I have to agree, the “we will always be your friends” song is a great song. Probably the best of the series after “If we hold on Together”.
