Great sportsmanship shown this whole tournament. Credit to the men, their Families, and the Coach’s.
Congratulations to all the Wrestlers who qualified and to the Champions. What a great season!
Man Parris hits that firemans as well as anybody
Makes it look so easy
Crazy how Kerkvliet beat Parris three times last year and Parris beat Kerkvliet three times this year
It is going to be extremely difficult for any NCAA Heavyweight to impress as much as Gable Steveson did... man was a wizard.
Until he ran into Anthony cassar
25 year old Anthony cassar, beating a 19 year old. By one point, scoring zero takedowns. Sure man. Everyone is just raving about the great wrestler Anthony cassar
Gable would tech him now a days
I was kinda sad when he didn't go to mma with his size and athletic ability he would tear through almost every heavyweight in the world with a few years of training
We’ll never see another like Gable in our lifetimes.
Parris with the Fireman, doing what he does. He's been doing that since he was kid. He wasn't being denied this year.
Parris looks very good this year. He was always very strong but this year he seems to have more fire and speed. Some of the broadcasts have said he was not healthy last year and is this year.
I believe he had a herniated disc last year
He definitely was. Kerkvliet had Paris’ number before this year and this year never came close to beating him in 3 attempts despite being improved himself.
He’s lucky gable wasn’t wrestling this year!!!!🤣 no joke
It's crazy how different 285s look in college compared to my middle/high school career
Congrats Mason Parris. you're a future WWE champ.
Great performance
congrats Mason.
Thanks for ruining it smh I wanted to be surprised
@@allenstokes6764 maybe don’t look at the comments if that is what you want.
These matches drive me nuts it's just whoever scores first stalls out the rest of time. If you go back and watch old matches they were calling stalling all the time making them wrestle
its the art of advanced stalling. You have to make it look like you're not stalling.. finessing these refs dude, it's easy. I could win an NCAA title if i really wanted to, but I don't want to wear the singlet, because then my massive balls would put everyone to shame
This is going on at the high school level as well. Was at the NJ High School State Championships down in Atlantic City & that was happening a lot the whole tournament.
Score first and then act busy, but really not trying to keep scoring.
It’s an art form now that high school kids are really good at.
The Ref’s would have to step up the stall calls in order to stop it. Or bring back the three stall calls and you forfeit the match. That would stop it real fast.
The great announcer team didn’t make an point to bring it up so maybe nothing will change.
So many of the matches the refs are yelling for the action and center and nothing happens. I was watching matches from the 80s and 90s and it's a constant flurry high scoring stalling calls all the time on guys that have hit 5+ takedowns in a match no one was ever out of a match because the action made it so you could stuck at anytime anymore you see a takedown in the first period and might as well watch something else till the next match
Have you wrestled D1? Not as easy as it looks bud. 😅
High level wrestling has always been somewhat boring. Defense is too good
Amazing!
I'm sure these guys are glad Gable Steveson is no longer around..... : D
I went to high school with Mason his record in those 4 yrs was 206-1 that one loss came his freshman yr then he never loss again till he got to Michigan not counting flo wrestling he's been a beast since we were young and now u all r seeing wat we've have since the beginning I personally don't know anyone that works as hard as Mason does his dad was our wrestling coach when we were younger makes me so happy to see someone from our small town doing big things you've earned this Mason enjoy it GO TIGERS 🐯🧡🖤🧡🖤 GO BLUE💛💙💛💙💛
He’s now on the Olympic team. Would be cool to see him medal
I think he can beat Geno this time but Zare is the big boss. I believe in Mason though
He’s so lethal with that dump/fireman’s carry
They brought Parris out during the last Michigan football game. I was there and wanted to check this out.
Great sport
Flashback in the mid March of 2023
Not to make excuses, but Parris was healthier this year than last.
Been like that both ways last 2 seasons greg was hurt then parris
Mason is the Goat 🐐 if it wasn't for injury Mason would've never lost to this fool.
Gable Steveson had both their numbers
The GOAT? LOL - Gable was 5-0 against him with 3 major decisions.
Now thats a Student/Athlete...STUD, man, gentleman. Good job
Greg K will be the 2024 NCAA 285 champion
"Fell 2 points short of Gable Steveson in 2021" (it was actually 4 pts) As if that match was close at all. 😂 Gable would have mopped the floor with the HWT division this year.
Gable Steveson, would’ve clapped the entire competition
😂
Maybe but Mason is a different wrestler this year than last. He looks much faster and better technique. Maybe Kevin Jackson's help?
The way they said Parris "fell 2 points short against Gable Steveson in 2021" as if that match was even close 😂
You all keep talking about gable Stevenson and dudes, not even a college wrestler anymore smh 🤦give the man Mason his flowers and quit living in the past!!!
@@nathansmith665 It's not about us living in the past, it's about people trying to compare Mason to Gable when there IS NO COMPARISON. Gable is one of the best to ever do it, and Mason isn't even in the same universe. The results when they've wrestled speak for themselves...
Big win for Michigan
100% incredible
Why do they show who wins in the thumbnail ?
I know right like wtf.
I’m an mma fan starting to get into wrestling 😂😂 idek why the guy won but it was cool to watch
Which weight classes do most wrestling fans (not necessarily those watching this particular video) prefer to spectate?
The lower you go the faster they are. Take that how you will
depends on who the wrestlers are tbh
Mark my words Mason will win a gold medal, and will be a future ufc Heavyweight Champion.
If he fights anything like Lesnar, he gets RAPED by Jon Jones. You have no clue what you speak of.
A gold medal in what? Bobsledding? LOL
In Myersmom sledding
I’ll take that bet. Does he have to do both in the form of a parley? Cause I’ll bet the cool points I don’t have that he doesn’t do either.
Even though a bias JB tries so hard to make it seem like Paris didn’t completely control the match, he did and won the Championship.
I feel like these two had the potential for a much more exciting match but i understand the ncaa state is no joke
I played against his dad in high school.
How did they spell Parris' name wrong
Go blue 〽️
🇺🇸
Stevesons son
Of all the wrestlers in the heavyweight class…. What percentage of them are former football players? 🤔
Should have worn a Thor T-shirt
Parris seems to have lost weight. ( seems quicker)
The Gable Steveson Effect
Greg has ZERO motor
Mason 2:18 did john Cena finisher but in reality not wwe fake
These guys are so slow in comparison to the smaller guys.
Does anyone else feel like heavier weights could use a bigger circle and more time?
Not more time but bigger circle, sure.
Um....no. silly
No just need refs that call stalling so they wrestled and quit backing out
No.
no they just need cardio😂😂
Heavyweights got one round in them and that’s it.
You're high. Go watch Steveson wrestle so you can be happy.
2 wwe superstars
first
no you weren't. I was. I just didnt comment.

@@robertosantos4730 no i was
No no I replied to your comment before you posted it
Kind of a stupi... Actually, it's a really stupid comment to say that Parris just won from "scoring first then stalling the rest".
