- A widely backed bill to designate lynching as a federal hate crime boiled over yesterday in an emotional debate.
Sen. Rand Paul, who is single-handedly holding up the bill despite letting it pass last year wanted to make changes to the legislation as a condition of allowing it to pass.
The Senate's two Black Democrats, Cory Booker of New Jersey and Kamala Harris of California, protested, saying the measure should pass as is.

So, what does Senator Tim Scott, a.k.a. the last African American Republican in Congress, has to say on this issue?
Apparently NOTHING. He only does what he is told it appears. He and Ms. Lindsey Graham are total embarrassments for the state of South Carolina. On national issues, Lindsey takes the lead and all Scott does is co-signs. The day they lose their senate seats can't come too soon. South Carolina deserves much better than the GOP legislature they keep voting on and sending to congress because their focus is ONLY on money and power rather than the quality of life of the people they are supposedly representing.

I am not American but I find it very annoying that some African Americans would come on a public platform to oppose issues of equality and human rights. How much do they get prayed to perform such obnoxious functions. I am a black Brit and some American brothers do surprise us sometimes, must it always be about money or ideology ? Here in the UK, common sense takes precedence over ideology and money.
