Thomas Griffith I agree, it is an awesome ballad. I'm not sure I want them to play it though. So many of the emotional songs Roy wrote fall flat with Tommy singing. Don't get me wrong, Tommy is a great singer, but Roy was a once-in-a-lifetime vocalist.
When people start whinning that Tarja left NW (or was fired, I don't care) I can't understand them! She still has her solo career, albums, tours. Khan's departure is much more worse as he sings no longer. At all. Just whyyy? He has such an unique voice with passion. I still have a little hope that someday he will return but with every year I losing it
He has moved on, if you haven't checked out his work with Conception you absolutely should, they released an EP in 2018 and a full release in 2020 that are both amazing and Roy Khan even performs so well on them it almost feels like he never actually left.
Honestly, he looks kinda tired on this one. Like, burned out or something. Notes are hit perfectly, yeah but some parts (like 3:12 to 3:18) make me think there's something wrong. I refuse to believe that the SV was running somewhere in the background, maybe he couldnt suck up enough air to sing it all and left it for a sec or two or it's just how it's meant to sound live. IDK, trying to explain what I mean here but nonetheless, amazing performance!
Do you honestly believe that he has the range for this one? Yeah, I don't too. There's a reason why Karevik doesn't sing (and never will) certain songs. And I don't aim to be mean but it is what it is - Wander, ballads and TFL/Karma tracks.
