I have multiple Boox devices, including color, and this was my first reMarkable product. It took a few weeks to get the device and no way to check on status with reMarkable. However, once I got it, wow! This is my favorite writing experience of all my E-Ink devices, with the sole exception of wavy lines at times (but not always). The color is much better and it is real color, not just black hiding a prebaked color mosaic like current Boox devices. This is only a paper replacement product, Boox is way better for apps because it has real Google Store support for Android. But for hand written notes the RPP is really really nice. The writing feel is also great, and is my current favorite. You can write with a very light touch and I don't have any of the downsides that some people complain about. The iPad Pro writing experience of writing on glass is truly annoying, especially the original iPad Pro, but this is nothing like that. Because you write with very light pressure, I doubt durable will ever be an issue for tips or the screen (on RPP).

Great video. One thing I’m do my best is to not watch any video prior to me opening/testing. I think over time the screen will get better from the natural oils in your hand. Same issue people had the Supernote a6x2. I think you are going to find the backlight useful when you least expect it. The tapping noise initially will annoying however I had my rM2 for four years and it still makes the tapping news and I don’t even notice it. Glad you fell in love with it. I think these videos put some much in our head because everyone’s experiences is so different. Yes the smooth feeling is typically like a rollerball pen writing on paper vs. pencil with the rM2.

Thanks, you know I'm a huge RM pro fan boy having the rm 1 for 6 years. When rm 2 came out I decided this entire time to not get it because the common theme was that it feels like slippery glass, compared to the rm 1 which is not a glass display at all. Excited for the rm pro it came in mail yesterday thinking it was the best writing experience yet, and no... Shoot it's awful really I mean it's night and day compared to my RM 1. And the rm 1 is night and day to the rm 2.
Overall I'm happy with the rm pro for my use case, studying the Pali cannon and having different color highlights and underline annotations, and the front light, it's just fanasticly beautiful, and the writing is definitely much faster no latency, it's just the "feel" is not good oh well 😅

IF ONLY Remarkable would produce a monitor just like this tablet. There are simply way too few monitors out there that use this technology, but hundreds and hundreds of tablets.

Good review. Drag down from right top corner for backlight. The Gallery3 technology has a darker screen than RM2. I look at it a bonus and use it a lot in dimmer rooms. You can always turn it off.
