I was expecting the teacher to just say, "Oh you missed the exam yesterday, but it's okay, because you can just take it right now instead." That's what always happened to me. Sick days didn't mean I was excused from doing the work, it just meant that I was going to get another chance to make up for it.
This actually happened to my friend once. He stayed off school for a day hoping to skip the exam however he missed out on us doing kahoots and came back on the day of the test.
