That's correct what i do to know which one is bad is take like windex or something like that and spray it on the pully try to get it in the barrings of the pully. If noice stops then its that pully, if not check another. Also note that sometimes the belt makes noise meaning it could be going bad. Hope this was helpful
Inspect the belt for damage. Look for images online for how bad belts look like. Those belts last about 300,000 miles. The pulley lasts under 600,000 miles, although if you idle your truck every night, then replace it sooner like at 450,000 miles.

how do i know what pulley to buy my doesnt have any numbers on it.
Normally you replace the entire belt tensioner along with the two small pulleys.
To change the pulley behind the tension pulley,do you have to completely remove the tension pulley??
